Wonderboom Airport Fire and Rescue Services will be available from 05:00 to 20:00 pm 7 days per week. Cleaning and Maintenance staff will be in attendance throughout the competition. 2. There will be a small fee payable for the course (to be determined based on numbers) Information will be advertise on the SA website at GE 3

4 2.3 JUDGING SYSTEM The InTime scoring system will be used for all the events. The system will be provided by Claire King and Dirk Venter. 2.4 DOWNLOADING STATION AND JUDGES FASCILITIES Judges will be using our Training Room to perform judging duties. Downloading will take place in the editing room. Two dedicated people will assist at the downloading station. Equipment will be provided according to the judges specifications and the printing and admin costs will be covered. 2.5 COMPETITION DRAW The draw will take place on the 2 nd Training day, with three judges present and overseen by the Meet Director. This way we are able to ensure that each team captain gets a sheet with the draw on during the briefing and announcement of the draw. 2.6 COMPETITION SCHEDULE Information to be provided asap. 2.7 PROTEST FEE The protest fee will be R If a protest arises the fees must be paid in advance and the Jury will attend to the matter and liaise with the Chief Judge. We do, however, encourage an open door policy where queries rather than protests should clear up most issues. 2.8 JUDGES ACCOMMODATION REQUIREMENTS Two chalets that sleep two people each will be provided to the Judges. accommodation will be provided for Elisabeth Mikaelsson from Sweden Alternative 3. AIRCRAFT OPERATIONS AND GROUND CREW 3.1 Aircraft Two Atlas Angel 9-seater aircraft will be in use and 1 additional Atlas Angel, will be on standby. Peter Lawson from Pretoria Skydiving Club will be the aircraft coordinator. 3.2 Pilots on duty Llewelyn Stroebel Graeme Gordon Joco Kok Duran Forder A load master will be designated on each load to organize seating, door opening and exit order. Radio Operators will be appointed before the event. The aircraft and ground crew will have working radios for communication between manifest/judges and pilots. PSC refuelers will be used to refuel the aircraft. GE 4

5 3.2 Aircraft Oxygen No oxygen will be provided. Competitors may bring their own aviation oxygen on board provided it complies with CAA safety standards. No medical oxygen will be allowed on board. 4. REGISTRATION 4.1 SA Membership and Fees All participants are required to be fully paid up members of the Parachute Association of South Africa at the commencement of the competition. Participants not complying with this requirement will be disqualified. 4.2 Registration Fee Registration will be R 1, per person competing, regardless of the number of events. This will include a minimal welcome pack and the Nationals Awards Ceremony and braai which will take place on the premises. Registration closes on the 20 th of April Late Registration will be accepted until noon on the 24 th of April 2012 at a cost of R per person. All payments must be made via Internet/bank transfers. We will not accept cash or credit card payments. Please use your name and Nationals as reference. Please attach proof of payment to the Registration Form and to greatfun@mweb.co.za If an individual or team withdraws from the championship after official registration, they will forfeit an amount of R500 per person. The balance will be repaid within 15 days following the end of the competition. Any team or individual, who is grounded for safety or other reasons, will forfeit the full registration fee. 4.3 Jump Rates The slot rate will be R no matter which discipline is being contested. Should the fuel price increase dramatically, we reserve the right to increase the rate to our club rate on the day. 4.4 Re-jumps The cost for re-jumps awarded in accordance with discipline / event rules are for the account of the competitor. Re-jumps due to failure in event organization are for the account of the organizer. The two training days will be strictly on a pre-manifest basis. GE 5

CONDUCTING THE COMPETITION 5.1 Competition Rules The FAI sporting code and the competition rules for each discipline are available on the SA website ( 5.2 The Venue The venue for the event will be the Pretoria Skydiving Club. Pretoria Skydiving Club is a very experienced, busy weekend drop zone. It will operate from 08:00am to 17:00pm during the Nationals. The club currently has a good operations staff with a strong member support base. Landing areas are clearly marked 5.3 Dates The dates for the competition are as follows: Registration Closes 20 th of April Late Registration will be accepted until noon on the 24 th of April 2012 at a cost of R per person. 25 to 26 April Training Days : Pre-manifest is required. Please include the following details: o The date required for training o Team name and member names o Number of loads required per day Judges Training Seminar : will be conducted in the training room. 27 to 30 April Competition Days: Actual competition days. All events will run simultaneously as there are competitors participating in multiple events. Hours: from 09:00 to 17:00 1 May 2012 Competition Day and Awards Ceremony Competition hours from 08:00 to 12:00 noon with the Awards Ceremony starting as soon as possible afterwards. GE 6

7 5.4 Manifest: Manifest will take place from the manifest office. Notice boards will be used to keep competitors updated with information such as manifest schedules and scores. Manifest calls will start with a 30 min and continue with 15 min. (walk out to boarding/transportation point) and last call. Calls will be made using the system. 5.5 Transportation on the DZ Transportation on the DZ will be provided where necessary to judges and organizers of the event. Transportation will be provided for collection of competitors from bad spots. Transport will be provided to the boarding point. There will be shaded areas at boarding point. 5.6 Team Facilities A creeping area will be available. The club grounds will be used as a packing area. There is also ample shade under trees for packing and team areas Ablution Facilities Currently there are 6 permanent toilets plus a urinal at PSC. Showers Currently there are 9 permanent showers at PSC. 5.8 Accommodation Accommodation is available in the form of free camping on the grounds. A list of recommended facilities is attached. 5.9 Briefings All briefings to take place on the 1st day of competition and as and when required. Relevant staff will have a working knowledge of the Sporting Code Load Management Load management will be undertaken by the Manifest Officer Competition Bulletins Daily Competition Bulletins will be produced through co-ordination between the judges and the organizing committee. Notice boards will be available in the Canteen area Entertainment Competitors can arrange their own entertainment most evenings. There will be music and braaiing on the DZ. There are several excellent restaurants in the area. GE 7

They will action all points covered in the bid document. GE 8

9 7.2 Media Releases and Local Town Press Various in-depth articles will be supplied to the local media to encourage spectators to come and join in the fun. 7.3 Tourism & Local Business Involvement Pretoria Skydiving Club will make arrangements with local backpackers and B&B s in order to interest local business owners in the event. 8. NATIONAL AWARDS CEREMONY The medals presentation will be held on premises of Pretoria Skydiving Club after the close of jumping for the day the 1 st of May The area is large enough to accommodate competitors, friends and families. There will be a catered braai for competitors. Additional tickets will be for sale for guests and non-competitors. 9. EVALUATION REPORT An evaluation report will be completed and submitted to the SSA Committee within 14 days of the completion of the event. 10. GENERAL INFORMATION 10.1 Restaurants The canteen will serve breakfast, lunch and snacks daily. Braai packs and suppers will be able to be ordered. Details will be placed on the notice board inside the canteen area. There is a wide choice of restaurants within the area. These include local businesses, restaurant chains and fast food franchises. For self catering, there are shopping centres in the area Friends and Family Pretoria Skydiving Club does not allow any pets of any kind. Children under 10 will be limited to the spectator areas during the competition. We request that children must be under adult supervision at all times Accommodation Please the list attached. 11.
