All-sorts Standing BHS Novice No. 7 (1986) 125/139 Qualifier Classification: Primarily the classes are all the N.I. Carriage Driving Association Club Championships. However, the Novice classes indicated * also incorporate the National Novice Qualifiers for Windsor To be eligible to drive as a National Novice Qualifier, a driver must: a) Have successfully completed all three phases, with a minimum three section marathon, at three affiliated Club events. Competitors must complete a competence form (Click Here) giving details of such events, which must be signed by the event secretary to confirm completion and a also by the Technical Delegate to signify approval of the competitor s ability to enter a National novice class. b) Not have competed in an Open class at a National event.

3 c) Not have finished in the top 50% of the class in the National Novice Championships. d) Not have won two Novice Qualifiers. However, if a driver does not wish to compete for National Qualification, they may still enter the Novice classes, solely as a competitor in the NICDA Championships. In addition, it has been approved by the FEI that competitors dressage scores in the Open Horse class will be accepted for qualification for the World Single Hose Competition in Rome, Click Here for Competence Form Marathon: Three phases, approximate total distance 16 km with 8 obstacles for all classes with the exception of class (All-Sorts) who will only complete Section E with five designated obstacles which may have some gates eliminated at the discretion of the Technical Delegate. Motorised Vehicles: It has been requested by the Dept. of Agriculture that all competitors vehicles must remain on the hardcore/tarmac areas when viewing obstacles. Four-wheel vehicles are forbidden to drive on grass areas unless special permission has been give by the Event Organiser. Persons using motor cycles/quads to view obstacles must stay strictly to marked course. Helmets must be worn at all times. Stabling: Stabling is available at 15 for the first night and 10 for subsequent nights. Please indicate on entry form how many stables and for how many nights stabling will be required. All stables must be left clean and all waste/bedding removed on departure, failure to do so will result in NICDA incurring penalty fines. Competitors may also use own temporary stabling in designated areas provided all waste/bedding is removed on departure. Exercising: The Dept., of Agriculture has requested that when exercising horses and ponies, whether ridden or driven, designated exercise routes must be used. These will be clearly marked from stable area. Hard hats must be worn at all times. Accommodation: There is no accommodation available on-site and a list of local B & Bs is attached for your

4 information. Mahons hotel is fully booked on Friday evening but some rooms are available on Saturday at a cost of for bed and breakfast. Catering: Breakfast will be available Friday, Saturday and Sunday mornings from am at a cost of 4.00 for a full breakfast. Lunches will also be available on Friday and Saturday from midday to 3.00 pm - prices from Snacks will also be available. There will be no evening meals available on-site on Thursday and Friday. A supper dance has been organised for Saturday night in Mahons hotel, Ticket prices are per person for dinner, sweet, tea/coffee. To facilitate catering, please indicate on entry form how many tickets are required and include payment with entry fee. Due to licensing requirements, there will not be any bar facilities onsite. Electric Hook-ups Electric hookups are available at a cost of per night. Please indicate on entry form if this facility is required and include payment with entry. Starting times Will be available on Wednesday 17th August after 7.00 pm and on the CDI website. Entry Fees: CLOSING DATE FOR ENTRIES - STRICTLY THURSDAY 11TH AUGUST Telephone/e mail entries accepted 50 (sterling only please). Cheques payable to NICDA Necarne a/c and to accompany entry. (CDI entries may pay cast on arrival at event) PLEASE NOTE: Despite the increasing costs of running such a prestigious event, the Organisers have decided to keep the cost of entry the same as last year. However, all NICDA members are urged to try and obtain sponsorships from local businesses, friends and family etc. No matter how small, all contributions will be gratefully received. Competitors briefing and presentation of dressage awards. Marathon commences Supper Dance in Mahons Hotel. Presentation of marathon awards Cones competition commences. Final presentations will be made to each class in arena on completion of cones competition. PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING: 1. Entrants must be club members of NICDA or CDI or any other BHDTA affiliated club. 2. You are required to provide proof of insurance before any competitor can compete. 3. Please do not leave any litter, including stable waste. The organisers reserve the right to: a) Cancel any class or event b) Divide or combine a class c) Alter times d) Refuse any entry with or without stating the reason Disclaimer of Liability: Neither the organisers of the event nor the NI Carriage Driving Association nor the British Horse Driving Trials Association or any agent, employer or representative of these bodies, save for death or personal injury caused by negligence of the organisers or anyone for whom they, in law, are responsible accepts any liability for any accident, loss, damage, injury or illness to horses, owners, drivers, grooms, spectators, landowners or any other person or property whatsoever caused by negligence, breach of contract or any other way whatsoever
