4 2015 Wyoming Senior Olympics Presented By: Sheridan is proud to host the 2015 Wyoming Senior Olympics (WSO) July 15-19, We extend a hearty invitation to you to participate in these Olympics. Individuals ages 50 & over as of December 31, 2015 may participate in any activity they are physically able to perform. The Wyoming Senior Olympics are considered open, therefore any resident of the United States and Canada aged 50 years and over is eligible to participate. WSO Registration Instructions: Registrations are due by June 26, Registration is $25 per person plus $5 per event. Registrations postmarked or received after June 26, 2015 will be considered late registrations. Late registrations must be accompanied with the applicable $8 late fee described below. Registrations will not be accepted after July 3, 2015 for bracketed events. Online Registration: Go to Follow the step by step registration instructions. Upon successful registration, each athlete will receive a registration confirmation and receipt of payment. Late fees will be charged automatically to all online registrations. Mail-In: Complete the Official Registration Form located in the middle of this booklet. Sign the Assumption of Risk, Waiver and Release of Liability and select your events on the Event Registration Form. Send the completed forms, a check or Money Order made payable to the Wyoming Senior Olympics, along with a copy of your driver s license or birth certificate to: Wyoming Senior Olympics, P.O. Box 7339, Sheridan, WY All registration must be postmarked by June 26, Any registration postmarked after June 26, 2015 must include the additional $8 late fee. WSO Special Fees & Information Bowling ($): Bowling fees are due with registration. Bowling fees are $10 per person per event. Golf ($): The green fees are $30 for Kendrick Golf Members and $46 for Non Members including carts. An 11:00 a.m. shotgun start is scheduled for the Golf event on Sunday, July 19, Trap & Skeet ($): There is a $10 fee per person, per event for trap and American Skeet. Contestants are responsible to provide their own ammunition. Archery ($): There is a $15 fee per person for targets

12 REGISTRATION HEADQUARTERS The Sheridan Senior Center, located at 211 Smith Street, is the registration headquarters for the 2015 Wyoming Senior Olympics. For questions regarding registration for the 2015 WSO s call Arlie Johnson (307) or Arliet.johnson@yahoo.com National Senior Games Association Summer National Senior Games are held during odd numbered years (2015, 2017, etc.). To participate in the National Games, you must first qualify through an NSGA sanctioned State Games during even numbered years (2016, 2018 etc.). Participants must be at least 50 years old during the qualifying year. You may qualify through the state you live in or any state which allows out-of-state competitors; however, you should be aware qualifying standards vary from state to state.

13 General Information WSO Age for Competition Events are offered for men and women in each the following age divisions: 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 85-89, 90-94, 95 & Over Age divisions for individual events are determined by the athlete s age as of December 31, Age divisions for doubles and team events are determined by the age of the youngest participant as of December 31, WSO Medal Policy Gold, silver and bronze medals will be awarded to the top three placing participants. During National Games qualifying years, the top placing Wyoming residents will also be eligible for National Games competition regardless of whether he/ she medaled. Medals will be awarded at the conclusion of each event. WSO Refund Policy Requests for refunds must be made in writing to the WSO Board of Directors. Approved refunds will be assessed a $10 processing fee. Refunds will be issued for the following reasons: An event is canceled by WSO Officials (no processing fee assessed) A medical reason provided by a physician, in writing, prior to the start of the Olympics. No refund will be issued after the completion of the Olympics. WSO Check-In & Information Center All participants must check in at the Sheridan Senior Center, 211 Smith St., prior to participation in their first event. Registration packets, t-shirts and goodie bags will be available at check-in from 2pm to 5pm on Wednesday, July 15; 6am to 6pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday July and 8am to 11am on Sunday, July 19. 17 Senior Momentum-Use It or Lose It Senior Momentum-Use it or Lose it is our theme this year and everyone in the Sheridan area wants to make the next two years of the Senior Olympics the biggest and best. The registration fees for this year will be $25 for the first event and $5 for each additional event for early registration by June 26th. Sheridan College is offering dorm rooms in South Hall at $20 per night per person for all 5 nights, July 15th July 19th. This price includes bedding and towels. There are 88 beds available. Also available are Sheridan College Villas and Lofts at $50 per night per person. Reservations: , Online at Grand Champion Medals Grand Champion Medals will be given out to one male and one female in each age division. To qualify for Grand Champion Medals you must win a Gold, Silver or Bronze medal in any of the 25 Olympic events. The more medals you win, the more points you acquire. A gold medal will give you a multiplier of 9, silver is a multiplier of 6 and bronze provides a multiplier of 3. These multipliers will be multiplied by the number of people in the event or bracket. For example, if you earn a bronze medal in bowling and there were 7 competitors, your score would be 21 (bronze=3 x7 participants) for that event. Based on this scoring, the more events you participate in provides a better opportunity to win a Grand Champion Medal. We are experimenting with a round robin format in pickleball, badminton, table tennis, tennis, and horse shoes. You will play more games in less time than in prior formats. In the round robin tournament, participants will compete against other athletes of a similar skill level. Using pickleball as an example, 16 players will play 15 games with all 15 people in your bracket on 4 courts. This format takes 4 hours of pickleball. You do not need a partner to enter and you may share a spot if fatigue is a factor. Early registration closes June 26th Please call with any questions you may have.
