2 General Information & Entry Regulations The Northern Hills Senior Games is sponsored by the City of Spearfish, Spearfish Parks and Recreation and SD Senior Games. PURPOSE: The Senior Games is a regional Olympic-style sports festival for adult (50+ Years Old) athletes. The purpose of the local games is to: Provide the Northern Hills area with an annual physical fitness event to promote social, competitive, athletic and recreational activities for older adults. Promote and create an interest in lifetime sports, recreation, and physical exercise as a means of enhancing one s quality of life. Create an awareness of the abilities and capabilities of older citizens. Foster an amateur athletic network of participants, volunteers, and sports enthusiasts throughout the Northern Hills that encourages and promotes healthier life-styles. Create private as well as public support for physical fitness and amateur athletic training. AGE REQUIREMENTS: To be eligible to enter an INDIVIDUAL/SPORT EVENT a person must be at least 50 years old as of December 31 of the current year. The age division for all DOUBLES and MIXED DOUBLES competition will be determined by the age of the YOUNGER of the two players. The age division for the TEAM will be determined by the age of the YOUNGEST team member. AGE DIVISIONS: Individuals compete for awards in their own age and sex category within five-year increments (50-54; 55-59; 60-64; 65-69; 70-74; 75-79; 80-84; 85-89; 90-94; 95-99; 100+) Team events (3-on-3 basketball & bowling) are divided into the following six divisions for both men and women: 50+; 55+; 60+; 65+; 70+; 75+ and 80+. When there are not enough entrants in any one age division for tournament events, the tournament will be drawn to combine age divisions and the rules governing the competitions will be adjusted to best accommodate the combined group WEATHER POLICY: Sports using outdoor sites are weather dependent. Competitions will be conducted unless a Games official determines weather conditions to be potentially dangerous or life threatening, or if the playing fields would incur significant damage. Due to the cost incurred by the Games to produce the Games, no refunds will be given for cancelled or rescheduled events because of any circumstance beyond our control. REGISTRATION & HEADQUARTERS: Registration due Friday May 29th 5PM SRAC. The official Games Headquarters Table will be located in the, 122 Recreation Lane. RESULTS: Events, results and messages will be posted at the event locations as indicated in the events schedules. MEALS: An evening dinner and medals ceremony for the Senior Games participants and guests is scheduled at 6:00 pm, Friday, June 12 at the. Guest fee is $8 (please pre-register).

5 2015 Northern Hills Senior Games June 12-13, 2015 Athlete Registration Form Registration must be postmarked by Friday, May 29, 2015 Individual Participant Waiver and Release of Liability: In consideration of participating in any way in the Northern Hills Senior Games program, its related events and activities, I, the undersigned, acknowledge, appreciate and agree that: 1. The risk of injury from the activities involved in the program is significant, including the potential for permanent paralysis and death, and while particular skills, equipment, and personal discipline may reduce the risk, the risk of serious injury does exist; and, 2. I knowingly and freely assume all such risks, both known and unknown, even if arising from the negligence of the releases or others, and assume full responsibility for my participation; and, 3. I declare that I am physically fit and have the skill level required to participate in the events I have registered for: and, 4. I willingly agree to comply with the City and customary terms and conditions for participation. If, however, I observe an unusual significant hazard during my presence or participation, I will remove myself from participation and bring such to the attention of the Organizer immediately; and, 5. I, for myself and on behalf of my heirs, assigns, personal representatives and next of kin, hereby release, indemnify and hold harmless, the City of Spearfish, the, South Dakota Senior Games, Belle Fourche School District, Spearfish School District, Lucky Strike Lanes, Belle Fourche Golf Course, their officers, agents and/or employees, other participants, sponsoring agencies, sponsors, advertisers and, if applicable, owners and lessors of the premised used for the activity ( Releases ). With respect to any and all injury, disability, death, or loss or damage to persons or property, whether arising from the negligence of the releases or otherwise, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
