The Horned Frogs begin BIG EAST play in t In the four seasons (2005, 2008, 2009, 2010) it won the MWC opener, TCU went on to post a combined 31-1 league record. t In the two years (2006, 2007) they dropped their MWC opener, the Frogs had a combined league mark of t TCU s last two trips to Air Force have seen identical scores. The Falcons took a overtime decision in 2007, before the Frogs won in t The trip to Air Force marks the only time TCU will leave the state of Texas in the opening five games of the season. t Since 2005, the Frogs are 33-1 in day games and 59-4 in Saturday contests. THE WIN COLUMN t TCU has won 27 of its last 29 games and is 39-4 in its last 43 contests. t Since the start of the 2008 season, TCU is The Frogs 36 wins trail only Boise State (39-2) and Alabama (37-5). t The Frogs are one of just three teams (Ohio State, Oregon) to play in a BCS game each of the past two campaigns. t The last three seasons have seen TCU s seniors graduate as the winningest class in school history. Last year s seniors won 44 games in four years. The 2011 seniors have already won 36 games. t TCU has reached at least 10 wins seven times in the last nine years, including six seasons with 11 or more victories. STREAKS SNAPPED t The season opener at Baylor saw several streaks come to an end for TCU. t The Frogs had the nation s second-longest current winning streak at 13 in a row, trailing only Auburn (16). t The Frogs had a nation s best 25-game regular season winning streak snapped. t Before the loss in Waco, TCU also had the longest road winning streak in the nation at 11 games -- a Mountain West Conference record. t TCU lost a regular season game for the first time since a decision at No. 10 Utah on Nov. 6, SERIES NOTES t TCU holds a lead over Air Force in a series that began with a scoreless tie in the 1959 Cotton Bowl. t The Frogs are 2-2 versus Air Force in Colorado Springs, 5-0 in Fort Worth, and at neutral sites (Dallas). t Since beginning Mountain West Conference play, TCU is 5-1 versus Air Force. The Falcons' lone victory was a overtime decision in 2007 to snap a TCU fourgame winning streak in the series. t The 10 previous games between TCU and Air Force have seen the teams meet six times as MWC rivals ( ), once as WAC opponents (1998), twice in non-conference play (1987, 1989) and once in a bowl game (1959). ROOKIE WATCH t TCU played six true freshmen in the season opener at Baylor, already the most true freshmen to play in a season in the 11-year head coaching tenure of Gary Patterson. t The previous mark for most true freshmen to play was five in the 2009 campaign. FAMILIAR FACES t TCU defensive coordinator/defensive line coach Dick Bumpas was Air Force's defensive line coach in the campaigns. It was Ken Hatfield's first two years as the Falcons' head coach. Hatfield replaced Bill Parcells following the 1978 season.

WHEN THEY LAST MET Air Force 7 TCU 38 Oct. 23, 2010 Attendance: 46,096 Amon G. Carter Stadium Fort Worth, Texas FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) - Ed Wesley had a career-high 209 yards and two touchdowns, and the TCU defense stiffened after giving up its first October touchdown, leading the No. 4 Horned Frogs to a 38-7 victory over Air Force. Wesley had more yards by himself than the nation's No. 1 rushing offense as the Frogs piled up 377 yards on the ground, 30 more than the Falcons averaged coming in. Air Force (5-3, 3-2 Mountain West) answered a TCU touchdown on the opening possession by driving 89 yards against a TCU defense that had allowed just three points in the previous three games. The Falcons didn't do much more, though, while the Frogs (8-0, 4-0) just kept rolling. Both of Wesley's scores came in the second half, and TCU finished with 562 total yards. For the second week in a row, TCU was in a three-point game before taking control just before halftime. The lead grew to 17-7 after the Frogs went 89 yards in 3:01, capped by Andy Dalton's 8-yard scoring pass to Jeremy Kerley with 16 seconds left in the half. TCU simply wore down Air Force in the third quarter. Wesley finished off an 80-yard drive with an 8-yard scoring run that included a key block from Dalton. Then Dalton had a career-long, 47-yard run to set up Matthew Tucker's 6-yard rush that made it 31-7 on the final play of the third quarter. Air Force looked as if it would make a game of it early with its vaunted triple option offense. Nathan Walker, filling for Jared Tew after the starting fullback broke his leg last week, went 18 yards up the middle on the first Falcons possession before quarterback Tim Jefferson went another 19 yards, and the final 16 for the score. But the Falcons had just 42 yards the rest of the first half, with just one run of more than 10 yards. TCU had six plays of 20-plus yards and 312 total yards before halftime. Dalton's 27-yard completion to Josh Boyce keyed a 71-yard, game-opening touchdown drive that the quarterback finished himself with a 5-yard run, extending his school record for rushing touchdowns by a quarterback to 20. Wesley had 114 yards to 101 for the Falcons in the first half. He had two runs of more than 20 yards, including a 22-yarder that kick-started the drive to Kerley's scoring catch in the final seconds of the half. TCU didn't have a bigger halftime lead because Dalton threw his first home interception of the season - and first in 88 passes - three plays after a 25-yard completion to Bart Johnson. Dalton later threw incomplete when the Frogs went for it on fourth-and-5 from the Air Force 25 early in the second quarter. 6 TCU at Air Force t Sept. 10, 2011 t USAF Academy, Colo. t 2:30 p.m. CDT t Versus 6 VERSUS THE AQ LEAGUES t Dating back to 2002, the Frogs are 16-4 in their last 20 games against teams from conferences with automatic BCS bids. t TCU had a five-game winning streak versus AQ opponents snapped at Baylor. t The Frogs are 7-2 in their last nine games against teams from leagues with automatic BCS bids. t Since Gary Patterson arrived at TCU as defensive coordinator in 1998, the Frogs are 20-9 versus teams from AQ leagues. The 20 wins are tied with Navy for the most in the nation. t Since 2003, TCU s 15 wins over teams from conferences with automatic BCS bids trail only Navy (18). t Beginning with a season-opening victory at Oklahoma in 2005 and concluding with a win over Baylor in 2007, TCU put together five straight triumphs over Big 12 teams. At the time, that run of five straight victories was the second-longest current winning streak over Big 12 foes behind only Oklahoma. t From , TCU was 5-1 in a 27-game stretch that included six games against Big 12 competition. TCU allowed an average of just 13.0 points to Big 12 opponents in that span. t In a period of 15 games (Sept. 3, Sept. 16, 2006), TCU went 4-0 against the Big 12. In that 2006 contest, a 17-7 TCU win, Jeff Ballard made the start before Marcus Jackson came off the bench to rally the Frogs to victory. CASEY AT THE BAT t Casey Pachall was responsible for 34 points in his first career start, marking the fourth-best single-game total in TCU history. Pachall s 34 points trailed only Jeff Ballard (twice) and LaDainian Tomlinson s TCU record of 36 points. t Pachall totaled five touchdowns (four passing, one rushing) in addition to a pair of 2- point conversions (one passing, one rushing). t Pachall s four touchdown passes were one shy of equaling the TCU single-game record of five shared by Jeff Ballard (San Diego State, 2006), Matt Vogler (Houston, 1990) and Steve Stamp (UT-Arlington, 1981). t Pachall s four touchdown passes equaled the most ever thrown in a game by previous starter Andy Dalton, who accomplished the feat four times. t Pachall recorded the ninth four-touchdown passing performance by a TCU quarterback since Gary Patterson's arrival on campus in FINDING TARGETS t Casey Pachall s 25 receptions were distributed among 10 targets. STANDING TALL t At 6-foot-5, quarterback Casey Pachall is tied for seventh in a listing of the tallest quarterbacks in the nation. t Arizona State s Brock Osweiler is the tallest at 6-foot-8. LOVING THE TIGHT END t Tight end Logan Brock had career-best totals of four receptions, 41 yards and two touchdowns at Baylor. t Brock became the first TCU tight end with two touchdowns in a game since Matt Schobel against Louisville on Nov. 23, t Dating back to last season, Brock has a touchdown catch in each of the last three regular-season games. t Brock s four catches at Baylor represent nearly half the total receptions (10) by TCU tight ends last season. MAGIC NUMBER 64 t Waymon James topped TCU with 64 yards rushing on six carries at Baylor. t It was the second time in James career that he was the Frogs leading rusher.
