TCU also has won a nation s-best 24 consecutive conference games. t TCU head coach Gary Patterson will take the field for the first time as TCU s all-time winningest coach. Last week s 56-0 victory over Grambling State was his 110th victory, moving him past Dutch Meyer ( , ) into the top spot all-time at TCU. Patterson s.786 winning percentage (110-30) is fourth nationally among active coaches. t TCU has its first 11 a.m. kickoff for a game since Sept. 3, 2005, when it won at No. 5 Oklahoma. t The trip to Lawrence represents one of just three flights this season for TCU. Those flights also mark the only three times the Frogs leave the state of Texas. HOMECOMINGS t TCU football coach Gary Patterson was born in Larned, Kan., and is a native of Rozel, Kan. t Patterson went to Pawnee Heights High School in Rozel and then Dodge City Community College, before being a walk-on linebacker at Kansas State from He is a 1983 graduate of K-State. t TCU has three players on its roster from Kansas: offensive guards Blaize Foltz (Rose Hill) and Brady Foltz (Rose Hill) and quarterback Tyler Matthews (McPherson). SERIES NOTES t TCU and Kansas are meeting for the first time on the gridiron since a KU victory in Lawrence in 1997, the year before Gary Patterson arrived at TCU as defensive coordinator. t The Frogs hold a edge over the Jayhawks in a series that dates back to t The Frogs are 9-6 all-time in Lawrence and versus the Jayhawks in Fort Worth. Carter Stadium was completely funded by donor support. t The new Amon G. Carter Stadium has a seating capacity of 45,000. t The six Founders Club suites, located at midfield between the first and second levels, were sold at $15 million each to provide lead gifts totaling $90 million. t There are 25 suites, all sold, on the west side. The 20 wins were tied with Navy for the most in the nation by a non-automatic qualifier. t Since 2003, TCU s 15 wins over teams from conferences with automatic BCS bids trailed only Navy (18). t Beginning with a season-opening victory at Oklahoma in 2005 and concluding with a win over Baylor in 2007, TCU put together five straight triumphs over Big 12 teams. The previous-best mark was Iowa going 12-of-12 against Northwestern on Nov. 9, t Pachall was 9-of-9 for 201 yards and three touchdowns in first-half action, while Boykin went 8-of-8 for 75 yards and a score. THE STREAK t Dating back to the 2011 Poinsettia Bowl, Casey Pachall has completed his last 11 pass attempts. STRONG OPENINGS t TCU has reached the 30-point mark in its last eight games. t The Frogs have scored at least 27 points in their last 32 regular-season games. t The 2011 campaign saw TCU score at least 27 points in each game of the regular season for the second straight year and just the second time in school history. A HAT TRICK t TCU is the only school in the nation to have two different quarterbacks rank in the top 12 in passing efficiency over the last three seasons. t Casey Pachall was 12th last year with a mark. Andy Dalton finished fifth (166.5) in 2010 and was eighth (151.8) as a junior in t Pachall was the third-highest ranking non-senior or junior in passing efficiency last season, trailing only fellow sophomores Keith Price (Washington) and Bryn Renner (North Carolina). MAKING HIS MARK t Quarterback Trevone Boykin made his collegiate debut in the second half of the Grambling State game. t Boykin completed all eight of his pass attempts for 75 yards, including a 7-yard scoring toss to David Bush. He also ran for 57 yards on five carries with a 34-yard touchdown scamper. IT S A RUSH t The Frogs have won 46 straight games when rushing for more yards than passing. t TCU is 61-1 in its last 62 games when rushing for at least 167 yards. The lone loss came in last year s season opener when the Frogs ran for 215 yards at Baylor. t The Frogs are 62-3 under Gary Patterson when rushing for at least 200 yards. THE TWO-HEADED MONSTER t In Waymon James and Matthew Tucker, TCU is the lone school in the nation to have two players on the 2012 Doak Walker Award Watch List. t James ran for a team-best 875 yards last season, while Tucker placed third with 702. t TCU is one of just five schools to return a pair of running backs who topped 700 yards last year. The others are LSU, Tulsa, Virginia and Wisconsin. t James led TCU against Grambling State with 69 yards on five carries. TOTING THE PIGSKIN t Waymon James 7.2 yards per carry average ranked seventh nationally last season.
