Anna Strickland set new career highs of 17 points and 18 rebounds, while Erin McGarrachan also had a doubledouble (17 pts, 11 rbs). Meghan Shank set new personal marks of 15 points and seven steals. HBU led HTU, 43-9, at halftime, the first the Huskies held an opponent to single digits in a half in more than a decade (3/3/2003). For the season, Shanice Steenholdt continues to lead the Southland Conference with 20.7 points and 11.6 rebounds per game. Tayler Jefferson follows with 11.0 points per game, as she leads the Huskies with 42 assists, 12 three-pointers made, and a 36 three-point percentage. Strickland leads the team with 18 blocks and is second with 6.4 rebounds per game. As a team, the Huskies are shooting 49 percent from the floor, compared to 39 percent for their opponents. Scouting the Lady Raiders Texas Tech won its fifth-straight game as the Lady Raiders defeated Houston, 60-54, Dec. 21 to conclude the TTU Athletes in Action Tournament. Amber Battle had a double-double of 19 points and 13 rebounds. For the season, Battle leads the Lady Raiders with 15.8 points and 9.2 rebounds per game. Minta Spears and Kelsi Baker follow with 11.0 and 10.5 points per game, respectively. Rayven Brooks leads the team with nine blocks and 18 steals. As a team, Texas Tech is shooting 40 percent from the floor, compared to 35 percent for its opponents. Hodges, a 6-0 forward from Kingwood, Texas, is a twotime Second Team All-District recipient at Kingwood High School. She earned First Team All-District honors last season as a junior. Hodges is a three-time Academic All-American. B. Johnson is a 5-6 point guard from Sunnyvale, Texas. She earned All-District, All-State, and All-Region honors last season at Sunnyvale High School. She is also a three-time A/B Honor Roll recipient. Moore, a 5-11 forward/shooting guard, hails from Murphy, Texas. She registered the most blocks in district last season, averaging 1.1 blocks per game in 21 contests while playing at Wylie High School. A. Johnson is a 6-1 guard from Georgetown, Texas. She is a three-year letterwinner at Georgetown High School. Johnson and her team won the Texas 4A State Championship. She was commended in the National Scholarship Program and is in the Top 5% of her senior class. Kirienko is a 6-4 post from Tashkent, Uzbekistan. Playing on the national team, she averaged 6.0 points and 4.2 rebounds per game in the 2013 FIBA Asia Championships. On the 2012 Senior National Team, Kirienko averaged a doubledouble of 11.0 points and 12.0 rebounds per game. Steenholdt Climbing the Career Ranks Senior forward Shanice Steenholdt is closing in on several milestones and program records: 412 points away from 2,000 (leader: Tiffany Andrews, 2,261)* 130 rebounds from 1,000 (leader: Tiffany Andrews 1,131)* 49 blocks from program record (leader: Sherill Hadrick 195) *Tiffany Andrews is the only player in program history with 2,000 career points and 1,000 career rebounds Huskies Ranked As of Dec. 27, senior forward Shanice Steenholdt is T-20th in NCAA Division I with 20.7 points per game, 12th with a 60 field goal percentage, 15th with 11.6 rebounds per game, T-111th with 1.56 blocks per game, and T-11th with seven double-doubles.
