Tip is set for 3 p.m. at Redbird Arena. UNI will enter Sunday s game at Illinois State riding a six-game win streak and in sole possession of second place in the MVC standings. Bohannon leads the Panthers with 26 made 3-pointers. UNI USES 32-2 RUN TO STOP DRAKE The Panthers took advantage of a 32-2 run to score a win at Drake on Jan. 10. Drake led with 1:10 left in the first half. UNI scored the final four points of the half and then outscored Drake to open the second half, Following the 32-2 run, UNI had opened up a advantage with 7:47 left in the second half. SECOND-HALF DOMINANCE IN DES MOINES The UNI defense has turned it up a notch in each of his second halves this season in games played in Des Moines. UNI limited Iowa to three second-half baskets and a 12.5 shooting percentage en route to a win over the Hawkeyes. The Panthers also held Drake to three second-half baskets and a 17.6 shooting percentage on their way to a win over the Bulldogs. PERFECT IN THE STATE OF IOWA UNI owns a perfect 11-0 record in games played in the state of Iowa this year. UNI is 9-0 in the friendly confines of the McLeod Center. The Panthers notched a win in Des Moines at the Knapp Center vs. Drake on Jan. 10. UNI also posted a victory over the Iowa Hawkeyes at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines on Dec. 20 at the Hy-Vee Big Four Classic. SECOND-FEWEST POINTS ALLOWED UNDER JAKE UNI s defensive effort on Jan. 7 against SIU marked the second fewest points scored by an opponent in head coach Ben Jacobson s nine-year tenure. UNI limited Missouri State to 37 points in a victory over the Bears in the McLeod Center on Feb. 5, UNI also allowed 39 points in a MVC win over Indiana State on Feb. 26, TUTTLE MATCHES CAREER MARK Senior Seth Tuttle matched his career-high with 24 points in leading UNI to a win over Southern Illinois. It marks the 15th time in Tuttle s career that he has scored 20 or more points. It is also the fifth time in his career that he has scored 24 points. BUSS PUTS UP POINTS Senior Nate Buss poured in a season-high 15 points off the bench in Wednesday s win over SIU. Buss has led the bench scoring in five contests this season. Wes Washpun has led the Panther bench scoring in six games to lead the squad. MCLEOD CENTER STEALS RECORD UNI set the McLeod Center steals record with 14 pilfers against Loyola (Jan. 4). The previous best mark of 12 steals was set against Savannah State on Dec. 10, NON-CONF MARK IN MCLEOD The Panthers have posted a 51-9 (.850 winning percentage) record against non-conference opponents in the Mc- Leod Center. UNI has won 10 consecutive home games against non-conference opponents. UNI has won 19 of its last 21 non-conference homes games.

8 SETH DELIVERS Seth Tuttle tied a McLeod Center record for a UNI Panther player by handing out nine assists in a win over South Dakota State. It was a career-high in assists for Tuttle as his previous best of eight came at Evansville on Jan. 29, The last time a UNI player posted nine assists or more in a game came when Brooks McKowen handed out nine assists vs. Wichita State (Jan. 27, 2007). ANOTHER DEFENSIVE STAND UNI was able to record its third victory (3-1 when trailing at the half) this season after trailing at the half as a result of its defensive effort against the Iowa Hawkeyes (Dec. 20). UNI trailed at intermission and proceeded to limit Iowa to 3-of-24 shooting (12.5 percent) in the second half. UNI also forced Iowa into 10 second-half turnovers. UNI used a 16-3 run to take a lead with 11:32 left in the second half en route to a victory over its in-state rivals to the south. JESPERSON NAMED MVC NEWCOMER OF THE WEEK UNI junior guard Paul Jesperson has been named the MVC s Newcomer of the Week (Dec. 22). Jesperson (Merrill, Wis./Merrill HS/ Univ. of Virginia) scored a team-high 10 points off the bench in leading UNI to a win over the Iowa Hawkeyes on Saturday at the Big Four Classic in Des Moines. He buried three 3-pointers against the Hawkeyes, including one with just over a minute to go in the first half that snapped a nearly five-minute scoring drought for the Panthers. Jesperson s final 3-pointer of the game allowed UNI to extend a six-point lead to with 7:03 left in the game. Iowa would get no closer than six points after Jesperson s 3-pointer. TWO BIG TEN VICTORIES For the first time in school history, UNI has defeated two Big Ten opponents in the same season. UNI recorded a win over Northwestern at the Cancun Challenge on Nov. 25. UNI notched a win over Iowa on Saturday for its second victory in as many tries this season against a Big Ten opponent. UNI has tallied 13 victories all-time against Big Ten teams -- Iowa (10), Indiana (1), Northwestern (1) and Wisconsin (1). DEFENSIVE AGAINST IOWA UNI held the Iowa Hawkeyes to 15 second-half points and limited them to 3-for-24 shooting in the final 20 minutes of a victory in the Big Four Classic. LATE RALLY FORCES OT AT VCU UNI trailed VCU by 11 points at with 6:17 left in regulation. The Panthers then used a 19-6 run to take a lead on a 3-pointer by Matt Bohannon with 48.9 seconds left. WES WAS A WHOLE LOT MORE VS VCU Junior guard Wes Washpun posted a pair of career-highs with 27 points and four steals in a double-overtime thriller at VCU on Saturday. Washpun drained 9-of-14 shots from the field and was nearly perfect at the foul line by draining 8-of-9 FTs. LAST TIME A PANTHER WENT FOR MORE Washpun s 27-point performance was the most points scored by a Panther player since Deon Mitchell put up 27 points an in overtime win vs. Toledo (Nov. 14, 2012) in the McLeod Center. 9 SIZZLING THE NETS AT DENVER UNI set a Missouri Valley Conference record for field goal shooting in a half by making 88.2 percent (15-of-17) in the first half at Denver. The previous best came when Southern Illinois shot 85.7 percent against Creighton on Feb. 10, PERCENT FROM THE FIELD VS DU UNI shot 70.0 percent from the field for the entire game at Denver on Wednesday night. It is the third highest single-game shooting percentage in school history. UNI shot 73.2 percent (30-of-41 FGs) in a loss to Cleveland State in the AMCU Tournament held in Springfield, Mo., on March 6, UNI buried 70.5 percent (31-of-44) of its shots in a win over Missouri State in the McLeod Center on Jan. 10, BEST DIVISION I START IN SCHOOL HISTORY UNI s 9-0 start was the best NCAA Division I start in school history. RICHMOND Senior Seth Tuttle registered his 17th career double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds in a win over Richmond. He is the Missouri Valley Conference s active career leader in double-doubles (17), points scored (1,344) and rebounds (732). WASHPUN SHOOTING LIGHTS OUT Wes Washpun was a perfect 4-for-4 from 3-point land in scoring a season-high 16 points vs. Richmond (Nov. 30). PERFECT IN NOVEMBER IN MCLEOD UNI improved to 21-0 in the McLeod Center on the month of November with a win over Richmond (11/30). PANTHERS CLAIM 3RD MTE TITLE UNI claimed its third Multi-Team Event (MTE) championship under head coach Ben Jacobson by winning the 2014 Cancun Challenge in Cancun, Mexico. UNI scored wins in Cancun over the ACC s Virginia Tech Hokies, 73-54, and the Big Ten s Northwestern Wildcats, UNI won the 2010 Las Vegas Classic with victories over Indiana and New Mexico on a neutral floor. The Panthers captured the 2011 South Padre Island Invitational with wins over Rice and Providence on a neutral floor. TUTTLE EARNS TOURNEY MVP STATUS UNI senior forward Seth Tuttle was named the MVP of the 2014 Cancun Challenge. Over the four-game tournament, Tuttle averaged 15.3 ppg, 5.0 rpg, 2.3 apg and shot 64.5 percent from the field. WASHPUN EARNS ALL-TOURNEY TEAM HONORS Junior guard Wes Washpun was also named to the Cancun Challenge All-Tournament team. Washpun averaged 9.3 ppg and handed out 3.0 apg while shooting 66.7 percent from the field in the tournament. WHAT A START VS. UNF UNI jumped out to an 18-0 lead in its Cancun Challenge game vs. North Florida. The Ospreys missed their first eight shots from the field in route to the Panthers scoring a victory in the McLeod Center (11/22). FROM DOWNTOWN UNI drained a season-high 11 3-pointers in its victory over North Florida. The Panthers had seven different players made at least one 3-pointer in the win. BALANCED OFFENSIVE ATTACK For the second consecutive game, UNI had five players in double-figure scoring. Against Morgan State, UNI had double-figure scoring from Deon Mitchell (13 pts), Paul Jesperson (13 pts), Seth Tuttle (12 pts), Wes Washpun (12 pts) and Jeremy Morgan (11 pts). JESPERSON S CONTRIBUTIONS Junior transfer Paul Jesperson had a quite a week for the Panthers. He averaged 11.0 ppg, shot 60 percent from the field, scored a career-high and was

Jesperson scored nine points and was 4-of-5 from the field against the Lumberjacks. The Merrill, Wis., native poured in a career-high 13 points on 5-of-6 shooting (3-of-4 from 3-point land) and grabbed seven rebounds in helping UNI to a home win over Morgan State. SNAPPING SFA S STREAK UNI snapped Stephen F. Austin s 34-game home-court winning streak with a overtime win on Nov. 18. WYATT STEPS UP True freshman Wyatt Lohaus knocked down a pair of second-half 3-pointers and scored 11 points in UNI s win at Stephen F. Austin. The Lou Henson Award is presented annually to the Division I Mid-Major Player of the Year. The award is named in honor of Henson who retired after a spectacular coaching career that lasted 41 years. 11 HOME WINS IN 7 STRAIGHT YEARS UNI has won 11 or more home games in the McLeod Center in seven consecutive seasons. All five starters return, giving UNI the pieces they need to challenge for an NCAA Tournament berth. Outside shooting is perhaps UNI s most dangerous weapon, as they made pointers last season and averaged 72.8 points per game. For the second consecutive year, the UNI is the only Missouri Valley Conference men s basketball school to be listed in the top 10 percent. The APR provides a real-time look at a team s academic success each semester by tracking the academic progress of each student-athlete on scholarship. The APR accounts for eligibility, retention and graduation and provides a measure of each team s academic performance. UNI INKS FOUR IN EARLY SIGNING PERIOD UNI head coach Ben Jacobson has announced the signing of four players as a part of the Panther recruiting class. Aarias Austin (Gurnee, Ill./Warren Township HS/DMACC), Justin Dahl (Carver, Minn./Holy Family HS), Spencer Haldeman (Peosta, Iowa/Western Dubuque HS) and Luke McDonnell (Dubuque, Iowa/ Dubuque Senior HS) have all signed to become members of the UNI men s basketball squad. Austin (6 4, 180 lbs., Guard) helped lead DMACC to the national tournament in 2014 for head coach B.J. McGinn. DMACC enters the season ranked No. 3 in the NJCAA Division II poll. Austin played his high school ball at Warren Township High School in the Chicago area. Austin earned all-state, all-area, all-conference and all-lake County honors as a prep. He is the son of Cynthia Mays. Dahl (6 10, 230 lbs., Center) guided Holy Family High School to the semifinals of the class 3A state tournament in Dahl averaged 11.5 points and 9.5 rebounds per game as a junior for head coach Matt Thuli. Dahl earned all-conference honors as a sophomore and as a junior. He was named to the all-state tournament team in He is the son of Janice and Tom Dahl. McDonnell (6 9, 205 lbs., Forward) has played on three consecutive state tournament teams at Dubuque Senior High School. McDonnell started as a junior and was the squad s sixth man as a sophomore. He averaged 12 points and six rebounds a game while shooting 54 percent from the field as a junior. He earned second-team all-conference honors last season for coach Wendell Eimers. Heading into his senior season, McDonnell has scored 443 points, grabbed 253 rebounds and blocked 62 shots. He is the son of Mark and Deb McDonnell. Haldeman (6 1, 170 lbs., Guard) was named the 3A player of the year as a junior at Western Dubuque High School. He scored a school-record 534 points (24.3 ppg) last season for coach Dennis Geraghty. Haldeman scored a season-high 44 points against Dubuque Wahlert as a junior. He earned first-team all-conference, all-region and all-state honors last season. He is the son of Steve and Amy Haldeman. PANTHERS TO HAWAII NEXT SEASON The field is set for the 2015 Hawaiian Airlines Diamond Head Classic at the Stan Sheriff Center in Honolulu, Hawai i. The field for the seventh annual event to be played Dec. 22, 23 & 25, 2015 includes Auburn, BYU, Harvard, New Mexico, UNI, Oklahoma, Washington State and tournament host school Hawai i. The Hawaiian Airlines Diamond Head Classic, an eight-team men s college basketball tournament, will feature 12 games through three days. Each team will compete in one game per day, advancing through the bracket. The two teams that remain undefeated throughout will face off in the championship game on the final day of the tournament. UNI BASKETBALL ALL-ACCESS UNI Basketball All-Access will be shown each Friday for 10 weeks beginning on Fri., Jan. 2, at 4:30 p.m. on Comcast SportsNet Chicago. The documentary is the story of the UNI men s basketball season and will feature a new 30-minute show each week. Viewers will get a behind-thescenes look at the nationally-ranked Panther basketball program as they progress through the season. The storylines include head coach Ben Jacobson becoming UNI s all-time wins leader vs. North Dakota, the Panthers traveling to Cancun Challenge in Mexico and the ups and downs of a college basketball season both on and off the floor. Our fans are really going to enjoy UNI Basketball All-Access, Jacobson said. The show will give them an inside look at what our program is all about and give viewers a chance to see our players in a way they are not accustomed to seeing them.
