Vs. Georgia State (W 72-63) -Down by as many as 12 points in the third quarter, ULM closed the gap to four before starting the final quarter of action. The Warhawks found their rhythm in the fourth quarter and closed the game with an 11-4 run to grab the win. -The Warhawks finished the game shooting 40.6 percent (26-of-64) compared to Georgia State s 40.3 percent (25-of-62). ULM posted its highest percentage of the game in the fourth quarter shooting at a 55.6 percent clip (10-of-18). - ULM defended the three point in such a way throughout the contest that the Panthers were only able to get off seven shots, four of which were in the first quarter alone. Georgia State as a team did not make any of those threepoint shots. -ULM forced 21 turnovers and turn that into 28 points off of those turnovers. The Warhawks also led the way in second chance points with nine compared to Georgia State s seven. Vs Georgia Southern (L 44-65) -The ULM women s basketball team trailed by just six points at the half, but eventually fell to Georgia Southern Thursday night inside Fant-Ewing Coliseum in Sun Belt Conference action. -ULM kept the Eagles within reach as the teams went to the locker room at the half with just six points between them before Georgia Southern went on a 20-2 run to start off the second half. Vs Cajuns (L 57-67) -The ULM women s basketball team had a rough first half, but turned things around in the second and closed the scoring gap to as little as eight points before the host Ragin Cajuns were able close things out and hand the Warhawks a loss in the Cajun Dome Saturday. -Down 18 points to start the fourth quarter, the Warhawks continued to cut into the deficit and had had the gap down to eight points with 40 seconds remaining only to see the Ragin Cajuns hit five of their six free throws to end the night. -The Cajuns went on an early 7-0 run that they would defend through the entire game despite the Warhawks strong second half where the team shot 14-of-25 from the floor (56 percent). Vs Little Rock (L 78-34) -Little Rock held ULM to 0-of-8 shooting in the first quarter and forced 11 Warhawk turnovers as the host Trojans jumped out to a 16-point lead at the end of the first quarter and then added a 25-point second quarter to take a 41-9 lead into the half. -London Archer led the Warhawks with a career-high eight points off the bench. The freshman shot 3-of-4 from the floor and 2-of-4 at the line. Archer also recorded one offensive rebound and one block. -The Warhawks shot 12-of-44 (27.3 percent) compared to the 54.1 percent (33-of-61) of the Trojans. Vs Arkansas State (L 71-56) - The ULM women s basketball team opened Sun Belt Conference play on the road Thursday night and was unable to keep pace with Arkansas State in the second half as the host Red Wolves handed the Warhawks a defeat. Arkansas State shot 42.8 percent (12-of-28) in the second half to pull away from what was a tied game at the half. -The teams went to the locker rooms tied at the half, but early in the third quarter ASU went on a 9-0 run to push out to a 14-point lead. The Red Wolves would maintain that lead throughout the rest of the night. -Arkansas State went to the free throw line 27 times compared to ULM s six total attempts. At the half, the Red Wolves had attempted eight free throws, while all six of the Warhawk attempts came in the opening two quarters. Vs Houston Baptist (W 77-65) -The Warhawks held the Huskies to zero field goals over the final 2:28 of the game. In that final stretch, Houston Baptist put ULM on the free throw line seven times to hand the Warhawks 10 of their final 12 points of the night for the Warhawks first road win of the season. -Alexis Collins put up career numbers and led the Warhawks with a game-high 33 total points in the contest. Collins shot 69 percent from the floor (11-of-16) and recorded only one blemish at the line (11-of-12). The junior filled out her stat line with one assist, two steals and two defensive rebounds. -ULM held the Huskies to a shooting percentage below 40 percent over the final two quarters of the game. The Warhawks finished the night shooting 44.6 percent (25-of-56) compared to HBU s 39.3 percent shooting (24-of-61). Vs Rice (L 50-93) -Rice outscored ULM in the first quarter 21-7 as the Owls tallied a field goal percentage of 66 percent (10-of-15) in the quarter compared to the Warhawks 18 percent (3-of-16) in the same frame. That trend continued through the remainder of the contest with final shooting percentages of 61 percent (39-of-64) for the Owls and 29 percent Last Time vs Texas State ULM 57, Texas State 63 Febuary 18, 2016 SAN MARCOS, Texas ULM held its opponent to just two field goals in the fourth quarter, but Texas State found a way out and defeated the Warhawks inside Strahan Coliseum on Thursday night. I thought it was a great effort by our team for 40 minutes, you can t question that, head coach Jeff Dow said. I felt like we had some opportunities that we squandered away, but I felt like we had multiple chances to tie or take the lead. ULM (9-15, 3-12 SBC) trailed with nine minutes to play, but chipped away for the next six minutes. Alayshia Hunter got to the line and made one of her shots to get her team within at the 2:50 mark. The Bobcats got the point back, and Chelsea Tieuel sank one of her foul shots to keep it a deficit with exactly two minutes to go. Journee Beard s go-ahead three-point attempt just missed with 27 seconds left, and the Bobcats survived with four more free-throws down the stretch. We turned it over 20 times and we ve struggled with giving up points off turnovers all season, and tonight was symbolic of that, Dow said. We battled and kept plugging away, but didn t finish shots around the rim we normally make. Chelsea Tieuel s three-pointer with 13 seconds left in the first half got ULM within 31-25, its smallest deficit of the quarter. The Warhawks began the third quarter with an 8-2 run, helped by Ashley Aune s second triple of the game. The Bobcats chased with a few more points to keep their lead, but ULM rallied with back-toback layups by Stephanie Ratliff and Aundrea Davis, the latter beating the shot clock. Tieuel came back on the next possession to sink a pair of free-throws, tying the game for the first time since it was 2-2. I m concerned about Aundrea Davis, Dow said about her fourthquarter departure. It s a little premature to know exactly where she is, but we have to prepare to finish the season without her. She had a terrific game if that ends up being her final one. Ratliff fought through a corner trap and found Aune on a wide-open cut for a layup, but Texas State scored four straight points to end the third quarter leading Texas State (12-12, 7-7 SBC) had 10 straight points after the Warhawks got the first two of the game. ULM will next travel north on I-35 for a 5:30 p.m. Saturday contest at UT Arlington. Inside (and beyond) the Box Score -The Warhawks came into the game with eight wins in the last 10 head-to-head meetings with Texas State. The home team has won all six meetings since the Bobcats entered the Sun Belt in the season. -Texas State was held without a field goal for the final 7:43 of regulation. -ULM went 3-for-7 behind the arc in the first quarter after going 3-for-5 in the fourth quarter on Saturday. -ULM s 47 rebounds were its most since having the same amount against South Alabama (Jan. 23). The plus-16 margin was its best since being plus-17 at Georgia Southern last year (Feb. 7, 2015). -Eight three-pointers fell for the Warhawks, the second time in four games. That had happened just twice all season until then. -Aundrea Davis tied a career-high of 15 points (Nov. 15 at LSU). -Daja Chase s 13 rebounds tied a career-high previously set against LSU-Alexandria (Dec. 19). -Ashley Aune had three steals, giving her 12 in the last five games. She had 12 all year until that stretch. -Alayshia Hunter s 11 rebounds were one off a season-high (at Mc- Neese State, Dec. 16). She also tied a career-high with three assists (fifth time in career). -Chelsea Tieuel tied a career-high of 36 minutes (Jan. 9 at Little Rock). She dished out four assists, tying a career-high set twice previously. 4

5 GAME 17 & 18 Last Time vs UTA ULM 32, UTA 40 February 20, 2016 ARLINGTON, Texas ULM s best defensive effort of the season was not enough in a loss to UT Arlington inside the College Park Center on Saturday night. The defensive effort was there, head coach Jeff Dow said. Any game where you hold a team to 40 points on their home floor, you have to find a way to win. ULM (9-16, 3-13 SBC) went on a 12-0 run over a 5:11 span between the first and second quarters. Journee Beard picked off a pass and went coast-to-coast for the layup to make it a game with 8:31 left. Stephanie Ratliff was everything for ULM right before the halftime break. She got an easy put-back after a missed threepointer, then came down on the other end for her fourth blocked shot of the day. Dow holds an all-time record as a head coach and as an assistant coach of (.627) and a record of (.636) as a head coach. As a head coach and as a first assistant, Dow has compiled twelve 20-win seasons, seven NCAA tournament appearances, four postseason WNIT appearances and six conference championships. In the eight years just prior to his inaugural season at ULM Dow averaged over 23 wins per season with an overall record as a head coach of (.766) and a record of (.801) in conference. All told before arriving at ULM Dow averaged over 20 wins per season as a head coach while amassing an overall record of (.676). Dow put forth a solid first impression in his first year in Monroe, leading the Warhawks to their most overall and conference wins since the campaign. This accomplishment came in spite of replacing the top four scorers from the previous two seasons due to graduation. Three of the Warhawk victories came against teams that went on to participate in post-season tournaments. In the final RPI computer rankings ULM finished ahead of schools in the Pac-12, Big East, Mountain West and American Athletic Conference. Statistically the Warhawks finished first in the Sun Belt Conference in free throw attempts per game and offensive rebounding percentage. The Warhawk women would also finish ranked 3rd in the 11- team Sun Belt in attendance highlighted by a crowd of over 3500 against in-state rival University of Louisiana Lafayette, a figure that hadn t been reached since February 3, Senior post Sharnice Brooks garnered second team all-sun Belt honors by racking up more points and rebounds in her senior year alone than she had in her first three years combined. Off the floor during the school year the Warhawk program thrived academically as eight players were either named to ULM s Dean s List (>3.5 GPA), the Sun Belt Conference s Commissioner s List (>3.5 GPA) or the Sun Belt s Academic Honor Roll ( GPA). Dow s second year at ULM featured the first winning record against nonconference opponents for the program since the season. The Warhawks nearly pulled off an epic win but fell in overtime on the road to SEC foe Louisiana State. The Warhawks would later go on to defeat Sun Belt Conference champion Troy. For the second consecutive year a senior post would be named second team all-sun Belt as Alayshia Hunter received the honor after finishing fifth in the Sun Belt in scoring and field goal percentage, sixth in rebounding and seventh in blocked shots. Academically the Warhawks fared well again as seven players were named to ULM s Dean s List, the Sun Belt Conference s Commissioner s List or the Sun Belt s Academic Honor Roll. Senior point guard Aundrea Davis was named to ULM s President s List for achieving a 4.0 GPA for the spring 2016 semester. Prior to beginning his tenure at ULM he was also one of the most successful coaches in Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) history, compiling a five-year record of (.729) from at the helm to go along with a record of (.756) in conference. Dow guided the Crimson Hawks to the NCAA Tournament three times and won the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) championship in Dow coached the Crimson Hawks to a No. 7 ranking in the WBCA Coaches Poll in He also got them to Amber Cunningham Assistant Coach Alma Mater: Rice, '06; USC, '13 Coaching Experience Assistant Coach Fairfax High School ( ) Professional Playing Career ( ) Viernheim (Germany) Alexandria (Romania) Forssa (Finland) Gotha (Germany) Sandhausen (Germany) Caroline Nuckolls Graduate Assistant Coach Alma Mater: LSU, 15 No. 19 in , No. 17 in and No. 12 in In the postseason, Dow garnered first round victories in the 2009, 2012 and 2013 NCAA Division II tournaments. He was also the first head coach in school history to win 20 games in his debut season and to win 10 or more games in the PSAC West Division in five consecutive seasons. During his tenure at IUP Dow recruited and/or coached three players that were named All-Americans in Jahzinga Tracey, Sarah Pastorek and Lindsay Stamp. Off the court, Dow had a combined 63 student-athletes earn IUP Dean s List honors and 33 were named PSAC Scholar Athletes. Dow went to IUP from Anderson University (S.C.) where he tallied a record of (.822) and his teams earned trips to the NCAA East Region tournament each season. In his three years at the helm ( ), Dow was one of just eight head coaches to lead his program to at least one NCAA Division II tournament victory in three consecutive years. He led Anderson to two Conference Carolinas regular season titles and one postseason championship in His squad led all NCAA Division II schools in scoring at 83.5 points per game. Dow held an astounding 52-8 (.867) record in conference play and also posted a 40-2 home record in three seasons. While at Anderson Dow recruited and/or coached three players that were named All-Americans in LaShonda Chiles, Deidra Langston and Nikki Anthony. In his final season at Anderson in , the program finished in the top- 10 in the country in win-loss percentage, scoring defense, rebound margin and scoring margin and was ranked as high as No. 12 in the WBCA national poll. For his team s accomplishments, Dow was selected the Conference Carolinas Coach of the Year. In his first two seasons Dow s Anderson squads were ranked 13th and 17th respectively in the WBCA national poll. Prior to Anderson, Dow held the first assistant position at Colorado State ( ), Santa Clara ( ), UC-Irvine ( ) and New Mexico State ( ). Collectively during his time at those four universities they had an overall record of (.619) and a combined conference record (.652). Over the course of those twelve seasons Dow s teams made five appearances in the NCAA or postseason WNIT tournament and won two regular season conference championships. During his tenure at NMSU as the post coach Dow coached 3-time Big West Conference Player of the Year, All-American and former WNBA player, Anita Maxwell. The 11-4 record that UCI posted in Big West Conference play in is the most wins that the program has achieved over the past twenty one seasons. Dow s first head coaching job came at the age of 24 at Texas A&M University- Kingsville in His team was picked to finish last in the preseason poll in his first year, but Dow propelled them to a third-place showing and reached the semifinals of the Lone Star Conference Tournament. As the Lady Javelinas coach Dow recruited and/or coached Patricia Rivers and Karen Weiss who were named WBCA All-Americans under Dow and were later inducted into the university s athletics hall of fame. Dow started his career as a graduate assistant at the University of Oregon in He earned a Bachelor s degree in psychology and physical education in 1988 and his Master s in physical education in 1991 from Oregon.
