It also marks Canada s third penalty shot goal in the past four World Juniors. Canada s last penalty shot goal came at the 2005 World Junior Championship in Grand Forks, ND when Clarke MacArthur beat Slovakia s Jaroslav Halak. Michael Richards (2004) and Jamie Lundmark (2000) also scored for Canada on penalty shots, while Steve Tambellini was stopped at the 1978 World Juniors. Gagner became the first player ever released by the Under-18 team to make the Junior Team in the same calendar year. Father Dave Gagner played for Canada at the 1984 World Junior Championship. NOTE Jeff Tambellini followed in father Steve s footsteps when he played in Steve Tambellini, now an executive with the Vancouver Canucks, played in 1978 with the National Team, prior to the start of the Program of Excellence. Neal will be attempting to win a gold in 2007, while Letang and Pyatt are hoping for the elusive two gold medals. The three participated in the two exhibition games prior to the World Junior Championship, but have not represented Canada at the Under-20, Under-18 or Under- 17 level.
