NCAA First Round LAST TIME OUT: The Blue Hens are dancing in the NCAA Tournament for the fifth consecutive year as No. 8 Delaware topped No. 19 William & Mary, 3-0, Sunday afternoon at Fred P. Rullo Stadium in the CAA Championship contest.knotted 0-0 at halftime, Taylor Lister scored just 27 seconds into the second half to put UD (15-4) ahead before Greta Nauck posted her ninth multi-goal game of the season with tallies in the 54th and 58th minutes. Lister finished the game with three points after dishing out an assist on Nauck s first goal while Lotte de Koning and Kayla Devlin also collected assists for the Hens.Emmeline Oltmans logged her 10th career complete game shutout and finished the contest with two saves while Sarah Horgan notched a defensive save. The Hens are 8-7 all-time in NCAA Tournament with appearances coming in 1982, 1988, 2004, 2009, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 and Including AIAW play, Delaware is in post-season action. Last season, the Blue Hens capped a historic season by capturing the program s firstever NCAA Division I Field Hockey Championship, and the first for a UD women s team since the women s lacrosse squad won its third straight national title in Greta Nauck was named the CAA Tournament Most Outstanding Performer for the second straight year while Taylor Lister, MacKenzie Meyer and Lisa Giezeman garnered All-Tournament Team accolades. Greta Nauck is eighth in CAA history with 68 career goals and ninth with 153 career points. Her 68 career goals are also good to tie for third while her 153 points are good for fifth among NCAA s active career leaders. With 37 career assists, Taylor Lister sits alone in 10th place in the CAA record books. Emmeline Oltmans is second amongst the NCAA s active career leaders with 63 goalie wins. Emmeline Oltmans is seventh for the Hens with 278 career saves. Nikki Rhoades ( ) is sixth overall with 282 career stops. The November 3 win over Northeastern marked No. 100 for head coach Rolf van de Kerkhof along the Delaware sidelines. Greta Nauck repeated as the league s Player of the Year while Lotte de Koning garnered Rookie of the Year accolades and Rolf van de Kerkhof picked up Coach of the Year honors for the second straight season. Lotte de Koning and Greta Nauck were joined on the CAA First Team by Taylor Lister and Emmeline Oltmans. CAA Second Team honors went to Kiki Bink, Kayla Devlin and Lisa Giezeman while Lotte de Koning was also named to the All-Rookie Team. In October, Greta Nauck topped Sharon Wilkie s 35-year-old program goals record and now holds 68 career goals in just her junior campaign. The Blue Hens finished the CAA schedule with a perfect 6-0 record in back-to-back seasons. Due to a forfeit win over Towson due to illness, the historical record books and statistics will feature Delaware with a 5-0 conference record during the 2017 campaign. Delaware returns seven starters and 13 letter winners from a season ago while welcoming seven newcomers to the roster. SERIES: The Blue Hens are all-time against Penn State and 4-3 versus the Nittany Lions on neutral turf since the first-ever meeting in Earlier this season, then-no. 6 Delaware handed then-no. 2 PSU its first loss of the season by a margin of 2-0 at The Nook.
