1 Soccer Club of Guilford Board Meeting Meeting Minutes August 8 th, 2013 Opening: The Executive Session of the SCOG Board was called to order at 8:13 PM on August 8 th, 2013 in the Guilford Community Center by Kathleen Wilcox its President. Present: Kathleen Wilcox, Joe Guerra, Richard Lynch, Bill Belenardo, Dan Miller, Duncan McClintock, Enrique Rivera, Ed Greene Absent: Josh Krusewski, Gene Mulone, Tim Paris Attendees: Approval of Agenda The agenda was unanimously approved. Board Member Reports Treasurer Bill Belenardo No updates reported Registrar Richard Lynch No updates reported Director of Coaching Josh Krusewski - Attended district rec travel meeting to discuss support in place should they need it as well as developmental priorities. - Scheduling meeting this Sunday - Arranged for one of our coaches Greg Cumpstone to attend and watch training sessions and attend games (international champions cup) at Giants stadium Chelsea FC, AC Milan, Inter Milan, Valencia - Provided rec coordinator with the clubs list of developmental priorites and player characteristics for implementation and hopes of becoming more consistent throughout. Same information was present at an April 2012 meeting for rec coaches. - Met with UK international to discuss possible needs for club. - All teams in place that start in fall - All managers are in place for fall - Most PACs are in place, some are still being discussed - Training times were asked for, most collected, some still missing - Will be asking for coaches to choose their one in state tournament (MIST is going on).

2 - Any extra programming (pool, gk training) how much, how often etc will be determined after trainings are in order for fall teams. - New U10 pool teams Girls - Will have two groups split by "north" and "south" guilford Boys - One group - U16 team(s) coaches have discussed pool of players and we will be posting when we are set with fall teams possibly earlier - In Mike Wneks absence if needed, i can piece together in house boys rec administravely if needed. Current Team Formation 1.1. Travel Rec Boys TR o U12 Which includes U11 and U12 Currently 29 players on Two Teams There are 1 spots left before the waitlist We have Two Coaches and Two Assistant Coaches assigned. o U14 Which includes U13 and U14 Currently 21 players on One team this is 3 players in excess of policy. The coach agreed to extend to this absolute maximum and is aware he needs to make play as 50/50 as possible. We unfortunately cut the second team and 4 players since we did not have enough players for a second team. We have One Coach and One Assistant Coach assigned Girls TR o U12 Which includes U11 and U12 Currently 24 players on Two Teams There are 6 spots left before the waitlist We have Two Coaches and Two Assistant Coaches assigned. o U14 Which includes U13 and U14 Currently 18 players on One Team We have One Coach and One Assistant Coach assigned 1.2. Travel Comp From Director of Coaching Report Rosters assigned Players and Coaches Request for Practices is dribbling in 2. Need to start coordinating uniforms 3. Scheduling Meeting is this Sunday. 4. The CJSA Board of Directors approved the CJSA State Budgets.

4 4.1. Fee Changes for the upcoming year are as follows: Premier League Entry Fee - $ Developmental Entry Fee - $ Elite League Entry Fee - $ CT Cup Entry Fee - $ State Cup Entry Fee - $ Another change for the upcoming year is the Player Medical Insurance deductible will be increased to $250. Referee Coordinator Gene Mulone - No updates reported Equipment Manager Tim Paris Last meeting I indicated that I would be reaching out to all coaches, assistant coaches, and managers to request that those not returning for fall please return equipment that could be reused. That resulted in the return of one coach's bag. I have also received several items from Mike Wnek. These will probably save the club a couple of hundred dollars. I'll be mindful of these items as I prepare the equipment order for the fall over the next week or so. Since so little was returned, hopefully we can order much less than we did last season. I will look to our in-house coordinators (Mike's replacement TBD? and Ed) and Joe for travel/comp to check with their coaches help ensure that we put together an appropriate equipment order, similar to last year. Fields Coordinator Duncan McClintock 1. Attended the Fall Fields meeting on August 7 th at the Guilford Community Center Rick Maynard stated that the fields will be open for practices the last week in August Rick will send confirmation on the fields structure and availability the week of August The following 11v11 fields will be available for our use Cox Upper Right, Leete #1, Leete #3, and Long Hill Front (will have some conflicts with GHS Soccer) We will have access to Bittner as well, where GHS soccer games do not conflict 1.3. The following 8v8 fields will be available for our use Baldwin Upper, Chittenden, Cox Lower, Cox Upper Left and Leete # Adams will be available for practices when not in conflict with Senior Baseball or Adams soccer 1.4. The following small fields will be available for our use Lakes (until 12:30 on Saturday), Leete #5 and Nut Plains Front can all be used for U6-10 play GHS Field #5 does not exist, having been plowed into oblivion 1.5. Leete #3 will once again be used for Micro on Sundays 2. Requests have come in from non-scog leagues for access to playing time on the fields 2.1. High School Soccer Jamboree is on September 7 th from 8:00AM to 1:00PM could be an issue for Micro 2.2. Bell Curve and Black Eagles adult soccer teams have provided their schedule for this season 3. The SCD Fall Scheduling meeting will be held this Sunday, August 11, at the North Haven Holiday Inn 3.1. We still need to gather the desired times and teams for the U6-10 Boys and Girls schedule of the 16 coaches have submitted their training request for the fall season. So far there are no conflicts. Current season collections range from $0 to $320 on any given day. New process of deletion of registrations without payment is most likely the reason collections is very low or zero. One hundred percent of those that were deleted, re-registered and immediately paid the next day. Need to Transition current Treasurer Duties to new Treasurer in conjunction with Kathleen (President).
