3 Coach rew Bezek 3rd Season The Oswego State intercollegiate athletics department named rew Bezek its men s lacrosse head coach in ecember of Lowville, N.Y. native came to Oswego by way of Hamilton College, where he spent three years as an assistant coach. While with the Continentals, Bezek was the defensive coordinator, helping in the effort for both practice and game planning. He also aided in recruiting and player evaluation, assisting one student-athlete to NESCC Player of the Year and eight others to ll-conference accolades. Bezek were also on the staffs that guided the 2012 and 2013 Hamilton squads to the NESCC postseason tournament. Phone: Before heading to Hamilton, Bezek served as interim head coach at Vassar College. uring his one-year tenure at Vassar, Bezek led the program to its first-ever Liberty League win and placed a student-athlete on the ll-liberty League Second Team. In his playing days, the defenseman spent his career at ivision II Le oyne College. Bezek was a three-time First Team ll-merican from while winning ivision II efensive Player of the Year as a junior and senior. He was also selected as captain during his senior season and was part of the 2007 NC Championship team as a freshman. 2016 SESON IN REVIEW The Oswego State men s lacrosse team finished its season with a 6-9 record, going 2-4 in the SUNYC and narrowly missing the post season.

Securing its first three wins of 2016 against SUNY Poly, Hartwick and Utica, the Lakers collected its first conference victory in a thrilling triple-overtime contest against Oneonta.

5 2016 SESON IN REVIEW The Oswego State men s lacrosse team finished its season with a 6-9 record, going 2-4 in the SUNYC and narrowly missing the post season. The two conference wins were the most in seven years. Securing its first three wins of 2016 against SUNY Poly, Hartwick and Utica, the Lakers collected its first conference victory in a thrilling triple-overtime contest against Oneonta. The team then picked up its second SUNYC win over Potsdam in the program s first-ever night tilt at Laker Turf Stadium. nchoring the team was goaltender Wyatt Russo, who earned an llconference Honorable eniton at the conclusion of the season. Russo averaged saves per game, ranking him second in the SUNYC. Offensively, the Lakers found production out of underclassmen Ryan Jelen and Jarrod Wilkom, both of which were top-four Laker goal scorers. With only two senior starters leaving, the Lakers will look to use a combination of young offensive talent and a veteran defense to make a run at the post season. 4

The school enrolls 7,100 undergraduate students, approximately 430 of which hold the title student-athlete as well. Over the years, those teams and student-athletes have accumulated 44 conference championship titles and have appeared in the NC Championship 65 times. In 2007, the Lakers captured their first ever NC III title as the men s ice hockey team defeated iddlebury College in the National Championship game. Oswego State has also produced 62 ll-mericans, hailing from 11 different teams. The men s basketball team winning it s second game of the NC Championship and advancing to the Round of 16 (2016).
