Whether you are a new customer or long term partner, thank-you for taking the time to look through our catalogue and considering a High Bluff Stock Farm bull as your next herd sire! The importance of having cattle with exceptionally sound feet and legs and the ability to put on and maintain weight in challenging weather conditions was emphasized this past fall with extreme wet conditions. These are the years that generations of selection for soundness, functionality and efficiency with a big sound foot underneath really pay off. We work hard to ensure that no matter what Mother Nature throws at us the cattle we produce are able to thrive. 6 Sales Management Comments We are pleased to be given the opportunity to once again be the management team at the Family Tradition Bull Sale. The quality and consistency of bulls here is quite amazing. The Jacksons have spent countless hours studying genetics and searching for quality cattle. Their momma cows are the backbone of their cattle operation. For many years now they have been selected for a sound, good foot, and well proportioned udder. While selecting their herd sires it seems to me that they have done an excellent job picking powerful, consistent performance bulls while still maintaining correct conformation. The quality of the Charolais bulls really impressed me. We see groups sired by Escobar, Bronco, Triumph, SHSH HD, and other top quality sires. Possibly the nicest set of Charolais bulls I ve seen this winter are sired by Sparrows Escobar 429B. Like their father, Escobar, these yearlings have inherited the traits which include depth of body with lots of extension, good hair and muscle expression that comes way down the leg. Bronco has proven to be more than just a heifer bull by combining calving ease with power. His calves have thick hair, are smooth made with good muscle expression. Also the Bronco daughters have beautiful udders. Triumph is homo pulled, and his calves exhibit long bodies with great tops and are easy keeping. There are a handfull of HD masculine bull calves that pack an extra punch you ll be thankful for at weaning time. The Simmental brigade includes Grande Fortune, Rust, Red Mountain and others. There is a group of Black Grand Fortune sons that are impressive with their exceptionally long, deep bodies. Be sure to pay attention to how well the Rust sons travel. The Red Mountain bull calves are easy doing and come with calving ease and maintain the necessary performance that every breeder is after. Intentionally saving back two year olds to sell in the next year s sale is just one more example of High Bluff trying to fill their customers needs. This fall we saw the auctions and cattle buyers paying a premium for the heavyweight cattle. More than ever before, it pays to be taking those heavy steers into town. Should any purchaser fail to settle for his purchase Transcon Livestock Corp. reserves full power to resell the animal to the best advantage either publicly or privately, without further notice. All settlements must be made with the clerks of the sale before any cattle will be released. BID - Every animal consigned to the sale must be sold by auction. No private sales will be allowed except as otherwise provided for in the terms and conditions. No by-bidding will be permitted. Each animal will be sold to the highest bidder. SALES TAXES Applicable sales taxes will be charged on semen, embryos and trucking fees (if listed), respective to the home province of the buyer, not the seller. DISPUTES - In cases of disputes, bidding will be reopened between the parties involved. If no further bid is made the buyer will be the person from whom the auctioneer accepted the last bid. The auctioneer s decision in such matters will be final. PURCHASER S RISK - Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as sold. Animals will be cared for at the purchaser s risk for a reasonable length of time. INFORMATION SUPPLIED - The information contained in this catalog is believed to be true and accurate. BREEDERS GUARANTEE - As per applicable Canadian Breed Association Breeding Guarantee guidelines. Copies are available at the sale settlement desk to be picked up by the buyer at any time. We really love this guy s attractive design and undeniable presence. He is smooth made, clean sheathed and fronted yet possesses a tremendous amount of muscle shape and depth. Dodger was in our Agribition show string and was the Jr. Champion bull at Ag-Ex. His 3 year old HD dam is starting quite an impressive track record. Last year she raised one of our favourite Bronco sons now working at Lyle and Betty Salmon s in Birtle. 96A goes back to a good looking, hard working High Bluff Hank cow we got from C2 Charolais.
