8 RECYCLED T-SHIRT IDEA TEE SHIRT TOTE MAY BIRTHDAYS! David Cessna Alexis Dom Emma Dudley Maria Eckard Eli Holfacker Alicia Jackson Olivia Klemm Phoebe Shuttleworth JUNE BIRTHDAYS! Nicole Airesman Bo Berg Joshua Bucy Elijah Butzer Catherine Cessna Christian Cimaglia Kyla Farris Silas Hocherl Jacob Hunt Brenna Jackson Jonah Knight Michael Knight Kara McCusker Ashley Ravenscroft "4-H is about building better citizens, teaching values and developing the skills necessary to leading a good and profitable life. And it doesn't matter if you're from a farm environment or from a big city. 4-H worked for me and I've continued to work for it." - Orville Redenbacher This Tee Shirt Tote is a great way to recycle tee shirts that you have outgrown or just don t wear anymore. It gives a new life to an old friend and helps to reduce the number of plastic bags you need when you go shopping. Supplies Regular Tee Shirt Fabric Scissors Needle and thread or fabric glue Pony beads (optional) Instructions: 1. Using fabric scissors, cut the sleeves off the tee shirt. Cut a scoop out of the front and the back of the neck. The fabric left will be the handles. 2. Cut the hem off the bottom. 3. There are several ways to finish the bottom. The quickest way is just to turn the shirt inside out and sew or glue across the bottom. Or you can stitch 3 from the bottom (do not turn inside out) and cut fringes every ½. You can slide a pony bead on each fringe and tie a knot under the bead. Another way to finish is to tie the ends together across the bottom instead of sewing. Source: This can be entered in the Allegany County Fair under Recycled accessory (from old garment) which can be found in this section: SECTION 4 - CONSUMER SCIENCES, 4-H CLOTHING. For more 4-H categories you can enter at the fair, go to: And click on 2016 Fair Schedule and Entry Classes.
