The Miss Rodeo Idaho pageant scoring process will emulate the Miss Rodeo America Pageant format, with necessary changes approved to reflect the Miss Rodeo Idaho judged events. Please see Appendix C for Contestant s Composite Score Sheet (Scoring Breakdown) and Scoring Criteria. Judging will take precedence over all pageant activities and schedules. 1. M.R.I., Inc. will provide three to five judges, depending upon the number of contestants. 2. Judges are selected for their expertise in all fields of the competition. 3. Judges will judge all categories of the pageant. 4. All judges scores will be used. 5. Judges may call for impromptu judging of any additional events including but not limited to: interviews, room checks, tack checks etc. Contestants will be under constant observation of judges from orientation throughout conclusion of pageant. 6. After each event, judges will hand their finished score sheets to the Head Judge, who will place the score sheet in a manila envelope. The Head Judge will seal the envelope and sign his/her name across the flap. The Head Judge is responsible for the integrity of the score sheets between the times the events end until that time the envelope can be delivered to a CPA or auditing firm. 9. The score sheets will be collected and sealed at the conclusion of each judged event and the sealed envelopes will be delivered on a daily basis by, a three-person committee; one being M.R.I., Inc. board members, the Designated Head Judge and one designated contestant parent to the auditing individual or firm who compiles, in private, the scores. MRI, Inc. may elect to make use of hotel safes and/or Courier Services for delivering scoresheets to the accountant. 10. 22 APPENDIX E Title of Miss Rodeo Idaho Lady-In-Waiting At the conclusion of the 2018 Pageant, and crowning of the new titleholder, MRI-Elect and/or Miss Rodeo Idaho Lady-In-Waiting is recognized as an official title. The duration will be from July 20 th, 2017 until the passing of the crown and Miss Rodeo Idaho 2018 Contract Signing at a date, time, location which will be determined by the current Board of Directors. The purpose of this title is to allow for the Lady-In-Waiting to: 1. Make scheduled appearances that are in the best interest and at the direction of Miss Rodeo Idaho, the Board of Directors, and the Snake River Stampede. a. These will be very specific appearances only approved and scheduled by the current Board of Directors. No other appearances as Miss Rodeo Idaho Lady-In-Waiting will be allowed and every appearance will be made with the utmost respect to the reigning Miss Rodeo Idaho, and this includes all social media and online presence. b. Official appearances will be made in official Miss Rodeo Idaho Lady-In-Waiting Banner, Miss Rodeo Idaho Traveling Belt Buckle, and appropriate attire as requested by the Board of Directors 2. Work with specific members of the Board of Directors that will benefit her as Miss Rodeo Idaho a. Includes but not limited to the National Director, Marketing Director, and Sponsorship Director b. At the request of MRI, Inc. President a committee may be constructed to work exclusively with the Lady-In-Waiting that will then report to the Board of Directors 3. Work with scheduled coaches and trainers 4. Work on her Miss Rodeo Idaho and/or Miss Rodeo America Pageant Wardrobe 5. Plan her Coronation Party and funding opportunities with final approval being that of the MRI, Inc. Board of Directors a. Miss Rodeo Idaho Lady-In-Waiting will be able to approach sponsors and raise funds at the discretion of MRI, Inc. b. All expenses will be that of the Lady-In-Waiting, which may be reimbursed once funds are available 6. If the Lady-In-Waiting has a current sponsor and/or title which she needs to further represent, she will be able to continue to represent said title at non-official appearances i.e. rodeos, parades, local contests, and community events as her sponsor title and not as Miss Rodeo Idaho 2016, MRI- Elect, 2016 Miss Rodeo Idaho Lady-In-Waiting, Lady-In- Waiting. 7. The Lady-In-Waiting and family will recognize that this experience is a costly endeavor with a minimum expense of $10,000 for basic travel and appearances. They will be required to travel to Las Vegas in December of 2016 and attend all Miss Rodeo America Pageant Events. This expense which includes travel to, hotel, and tickets for all events will be an estimated cost of $ At the conclusion of reigning year, Miss Rodeo Idaho will be required to pay for the removal of her trailer wrap. This cost is a minimum of $700. APPENDIX F 2/15/17 Miss Rodeo Idaho Rule Book Page 22

23 Social Media Etiquette Miss Rodeo Idaho is an ambassador for professional rodeo and a role model for our western heritage and values. The young women involved with Miss Rodeo Idaho model goodwill, positive character and the highest level of integrity. MRI's involvement with social media must always reflect these qualities. While social media can be a marvelous tool, it can also quickly ruin the reputation of both an individual and a rodeo royalty program. The following guideline is intended to assist MRI in utilizing social media to its full potential to connect with family, friends, rodeo fans, sponsors, and all her supporters. 1. The MRI Facebook page is managed by the MRII Marketing Director. The current MRI (including the Lady-in-Waiting) may tag the Miss Rodeo Idaho, Inc. page in her posts pertaining to her title. These posts will then appear on the MRI timeline. 2. In ALL posts (including personal posts and MRI tagged posts) MRI will represent goodwill, positive character, and integrity. Do not post negative comments (this includes sarcasm). 3. In ALL posted pictures (personal and MRI tagged; in crown and banner and not) MRI will be dressed modestly. Skirts, dresses, shorts will be no higher than 3 inches above the knee. Refrain from low cut tops and backs. 4. Post frequently, but not excessively. A good rule of thumb is no more than 3 posts a day. However, if there is nothing to post about, then don't post--don't sacrifice quality for quantity. Great things to post about: positive experiences at rodeos and events, appreciation for sponsors, utilizing sponsors' merchandise/services, promoting local rodeos and community events, etc. 5. Absolutely no photos or posts with alcohol. 6. Be safe. Giving out too much personal information can open you up to unwanted advertisement at best and dangerous stalkers at worst. If you feel uncomfortable about a situation that involves the Miss Rodeo Idaho, Inc. page, report it to the Marketing Director. Personal safety comes first. Do not feel obligated to accept any friends to your personal page that you do not have a personal relationship with. 7. Write professionally. Use proper grammar and spelling. Do not abbreviate words. Do not excessively use exclamation marks and emoticons. 8. Lady-in-Waiting: Though we would like to keep the MRI Facebook page focused on the current title holder throughout her year, there are instances where it is appropriate for the Lady-in-Waiting to tag the Miss Rodeo Idaho, Inc. Facebook page. This mostly includes events that the Lady-in-Waiting is able to attend, that the current MRI is not. In all tagged posts, include "Lady-in-Waiting" after tagging the MRI page. Before tagging any photos, posts, or videos as the Lady-in-Waiting, request permission from the Marketing Director. Remember: Any photos, text, or videos you release through social media can never be retrieved or deleted. Though you may delete it, someone may have already downloaded it. When used properly, social media is a wonderful way to promote your rodeo, your organization, and your pageant. But it is also a reflection of those entities and yourself. So, ultimately, when in doubt...don't do it! 2/15/17 Miss Rodeo Idaho Rule Book Page 23
