The broadcast is scheduled for Sun., Feb. 11, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. RESULTS Live results for the Tyson Invitational will be available online at LSU BATTLES NATION S BEST AT TYSON INVITATIONAL The LSU track and field teams head to the site of this year s NCAA Indoor Championships this weekend as they travel to Fayetteville, Ark., to compete in the two-day Tyson Invitational at the Randal Tyson Track Center. The Tyson Invitational is widely considered one of the most competitive meets of the indoor season as it provides and early glimpse at many of the teams that will be competing at the NCAA Championships in March. The meet is scheduled to be broadcast to a national television audience on a tape-delay basis on Sunday from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. LSU s third-ranked women and 15th-ranked men will be competing against many of the nation s premier athletes as they join such nationally-ranked teams as Arizona State, Arkansas, Auburn, Baylor, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Kansas, Louisville, Michigan, Nebraska, Oregon, Stanford, Tennessee, Texas and UTEP. The teams follow their trip to the Tyson Invitational this weekend by hosting the LSU Twilight at the Carl Maddox Fieldhouse on Feb. 16 before preparing for the SEC Indoor Championships at the Nutter Fieldhouse in Lexington, Ky., from March LAST TIME OUT The Tigers and Lady Tigers put on a show last weekend at the Armory Track and Field Center in New York as both squads earned second-place finishes at the prestigious seventh-annual New Balance Collegiate Invitational. The Tigers finished six points behind Texas at 62.5 points for the meet, while the Lady Tigers trailed women s champion Texas A&M with a total of 70.5 points. LSU was led on the men s side by the likes of junior Reggie Dardar and senior Melville Rogers, who each posted personal best times in qualifying provisionally for the NCAA Indoor Championships in their respective specialty events. Dardar clocked the second-fastest time in the world this season at to take second place in the 400 meters, while Rogers won the first 200-meter title of his LSU career with the seventh-fastest time in school history at The women were led by another stellar performance from junior All-American Jessica Ohanaja, who captured her fourth-straight title in the 60-meter hurdles with an NCAA automatic qualfiying time of This marks the third time in the last two weeks that Ohanaja has equaled her personal best time of The Lady Tiger foursome of juniors Brooklynn Morris and Deonna Lawrence, freshman LaTavia Thomas and sophomore Nickiesha Wilson qualified automatically for the NCAA meet in the women s 4x400-meter relay with a season-best time of 3: Thomas also clocked an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 2:07.73 in her collegiate debut in the 800 meters.

Dardar had not competed in the quarter mile prior to the New Balance meet, but shattered his previous best indoor time by more than a second with a runnerup effort of 46.24, which ranks No. 6 on the school s all-time indoor performance list. Ricardo Chambers of Florida State - a two-time All-American in the 400 meters during the 2006 campaign - wowed a lively crowd at the Armory Track and Field Center by nipping Dardar at the tape with the No. 1 time in the world this season at to claim the event championship. 3 DARDAR EARNS SEC HONOR FOR STELLAR PERFORMANCE After clocking the second-fastest 400-meter time in the world on Saturday, junior quartermiler Reggie Dardar earned his first career SEC Men s Track Athlete of the Week honor as announced by the league office on Tuesday. Dardar ran a personal best time of to take second place in the 400 meters at the prestigious New Balance Collegiate Invitational at the Armory Track and Field Center in New York. The Cecilia, La., native also anchored the men s second-ranked 4x400-meter relay team to a win over the third-ranked foursome from South Carolina with a split on the last leg. The Tigers clocked a provisional qualifying time of 3:07.54 to take first place in the event. WOMEN S 4X400 RELAY QUALIFIES FOR NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS The Lady Tigers 4x400-meter relay squad, which was ranked No. 1 in the country heading into the New Balance Collegiate Invitational this past weekend, will look to defend its national title as it qualified automatically for the NCAA Indoor Championships by clocking a season-best time of 3:31.77 to finish runner-up to then-no. 3 South Carolina at the Armory Track and Field Center in New York. The foursome of junior quater mile standouts Brooklynn Morris and Deonna Lawrence, freshman LaTavia Thomas and sophomore Nickiesha Wilson teamed for the fifth-fastest time in program history. The Lady Tigers are the defending national champions in the event as they claimed national crowns during both the indoor and outdoor seasons a year ago. Their time of 3:29.33 set at the NCAA Indoor Championships is the No. 2 time on the school s all-time list. OHANAJA CONTINUES TO SHINE IN HURDLES Junior All-American Jessica Ohanaja continued her impressive streak in the women s 60-meter hurdles as she won her fourth-straight title in the event this season at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational. Ohanaja followed her NCAA provisional time of 8.32 in the preliminary round with an NCAA automatic qualifying mark of 8.14 in the final heat. Her personal best time in the event finals tied the meet record and established a new women s collegiate record at the Armory Track and Field Center. The Houston native also took home the crown in the 60-meter hurdles at the Purple Tiger Invitational on Jan. 13, the Modrall Sperling Lobo Invitational on Jan. 20 and the Bayou Bengal Invitational on Jan. 26. She looks to win her fifth-straight title in the event against her stiffest competition of the season at the Tyson Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark., this weekend. TIGERS, LADY TIGERS CLOCK PROVISIONAL TIMES IN NEW YORK A number of LSU athletes clocked NCAA provisional qualifying times in their respective specialty events at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational this past weekend, including many for the first time this season. Junior Reggie Dardar led the way for the Tigers by clocking the No. 2 time in the world this season with a provisional time of in a runner-up performance in the finals of the men s 400 meters, while senior Melville Rogers clocked a personal best time of seconds in winning the 200-meter crown. Junior Brooklynn Morris clocked her first NCAA provisional time in the 60 meters this season with a 7.37 in the preliminary round, and freshman half miler LaTavia Thomas made a splash in her collegiate debut in the event by qualifying provisionally for the NCAA meet with a time of 2:07.73 to rank seventh on the school s all-time indoor performance list. LSU ATHLETES COMPETE AT 100TH MILLROSE GAMES The LSU men s and women s track and field teams were well-represented with sevent athletes receiving invitations to compete at the recent 100th Millrose Games held at Madison Square Garden on Feb. 2. Junior Jessica Ohanaja, sophomore Nickiesha Wilson and senior Angel Boyd finished in the college division of the 60-meter hurdles with Ohanaja clocking a winning time of Fellow junior Kelly Baptiste took first place in the college division of the women s 60-meter dash followed by junior Brooklynn Morris in fourth place. The men were represented by junior All-American Richard Thompson, who finished fourth in the professional division. Junior Ryan Fontenot represented LSU in the college division of the men s 60-meter hurdles. The Millrose Games is the nation s oldest and most prestigious indoor invitational dating back to 1908 and has featured the likes of track and field greats Jesse Owens, Wilma Rudolph and Carl Lewis. Ohanaja s time places her in sixth on the program s all-time indoor performance list. She has followed her performance at the Bayou Bengal Invitational by equaling her personal best on two other occasions, at the 100th Millrose Games at Madison Square Garden on Feb. 2 and in the finals of the event at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational at the Armory Track and Field Center on Feb. 3.

Thompson s altitude-adjusted time of 6.67 is the second-fastest time in program history and is just a split-second behind former LSU great Kelly Willie s school-record mark of 6.66 set in the preliminaries of the event at the NCAA Indoor Championships a season ago. In clocking his personal best 60-meter time, Thompson passed former LSU football stars Devery Henderson and Chris Cummings on the school s all-time indoor performance list. In addition to his stellar performance in the 60 meters, Thompson also took fourth place in the men s 200 meters at the Lobo Invitational with an indoor personal best time of seconds, which was the 10th-ranked mark on the school s all-time list at the time of his performance. LSU S JUMPS CORPS POSTS NCAA PROVISIONAL MARKS The LSU track and field teams are well-known for their rich history in the sprints and hurdles, but they also boast one of the nation s most prolific traditions in their jumps corps which has seen such national champion athletes as Walter Davis and John Moffitt lead the Tigers in the horizontal jumps. Coach Boo Schexnayder is grooming LSU s next generation of horizontal jumpers as sophomore all-conference performer Jeremy Hicks and true freshman Will Coppage have already posted NCAA provisional qualifying marks this season. Coppage became the first Tiger to long jump more than 25 feet this season after posting a personal best mark of /4 to take fifth place in the event at the Tyson Invitational on Friday. Hicks also posted a season best mark of /2 at the Tyson Invitational to improve upon his NCAA provisional distance of /4 set at the Lobo Invitational. On the women s side, junior Kathy Coleman leads the Lady Tigers effort as she has qualified provisionally for the NCAA Indoor Championships after jumping /2 at the Bayou Bengal Invitational on Jan. 26. RODRIGUE BREAKS SCHOOL RECORD IN POLE VAULT Freshman Katelyn Rodrigue kicked off her LSU career with a bang by breaking the indoor school record in the women s pole vault by clearing /4 in the Lady Tigers season opener at the Purple Tiger Classic on Jan. 13. Rodrigue broke her own school record the following week with a vault of /2 to take top honors in the event with an indoor personal best at the Modrall Sperling Lobo Invitational in Albuquerque, N.M., on Jan. 20. The New Orleans native is well on her way to becoming the most prolific pole vaulter in the history of the LSU women s track and field program as she is the only Lady Tiger to clear 12 feet in the event. In fact, she has cleared the 12-foot plateau in each of the last three meets. Rodrigue cleared /2 in a second-place effort at the Bayou Bengal Invitational on Jan. 26 followed by a leap of /2 at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational on Feb. 3. DAVIDSON POSTS PROVISIONAL MARK IN PENTATHLON WIN LSU senior Shaunette Davidson won the women s pentathlon crown at the LSU Combined Events on Jan. 25 as she scored an NCAA provisional qualifying total of 3,705 points in her first appearance in the event as a Lady Tiger. Davidson outlasted runner-up Amy Seward of Miami for the title, who entered the competition as the nation s 11th-ranked pentathlete in the Trackwire Dandy Dozen. Davidson took first place in her specialty event with a clearance of 5-7 in the high jump, while earning runner-up finishes ina trio of events, including the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.71, the shot put with a heave of /4 and the long jump with a leap of /4. She finished sixth in the 800 meters after crossing the finish line in 2: The native of Manchester, Jamaica, has one more opportunity to qualify for the NCAA Indoor Championships as she is set to compete in the event at the SEC Championships in Lexington, Ky., from March HENRY ENJOYS FAST START TO LADY TIGER CAREER Freshman sprint sensation Samantha Henry signed with the LSU women s track and field program as a relatively unheralded recruit out of Kingston, Jamaica, but has enjoyed a fast start to her Lady Tiger career as she has been one of the team s most consistent performers in both the 60 meters and 200 meters this season. Henry has already qualified provisionally for the NCAA Championships in each event as she clocked a 7.34 in the 60-meter dash Modrall Sperling Lobo Invitational in Albuquerque, N.M., on Jan. 20, while she posted a time of in the 200 meters at the same event. In fact, she is the 10thranked performer in the women s 60-meter dash according to the latest Trackwire Dandy Dozen.
