2 MERITS Imam Sadiq (A) narrates that one who recites this supplication for 40 mornings; he will be accounted amongst the helpers of Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s). And if he happens to die before the reappearance of Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s), Allāh (swt) will raise him up from his rave so that he may assist the holy Imam (a.t.f.s).for every word that he recites in this supplication, Allāh (swt) will grant him 1000 good deeds and will erase from his scroll of deeds 1000 sins. As the title suggests, this supplication is of allegiance (ahad) to the holy Imam (a.t.f.s). Its recitation every morning ensures the renewal of this covenant. The reciter finds himself under the leadership of Imam (a.t.f.s).the reciter beseeches All to include him among the helpers and aides of Imam (a.t.f.s) and to grant him the opportunity to attain martyrdom in his presence. Also, he requests Allāh (swt) that should he die before the reappearance of Imam (a.t.f.s). Allāh (swt) should raise him up from his grave so that he may assist him (a.t.f.s) in his mission. There is a fervent appeal to Allāh (swt) to grant him the honour of seeing Imam (a.t.f.s). In this there is also an acknowledgement that the difficulties of this nation can be solved only by the reappearance of Imam (a.t.f.s) and that believers see it as being close while others deem it to be distant.

3 و م ص الل غ ل م د م د و ا م د م د Dua a al-ahad ل O' Allāh send Your blessings on Muhammad and the family of Muhammad. allahumma salli `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin

4 ب س م الل ي الر خ م ن م الر خ In the Name of Allāh, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful. bi-smi llahi r-rahmani r-rahimi

5 م ر ب الل ال ػ ظ م الو ر O Allāh the Lord of the Great Light, allahumma rabba alnnuri al`azimi

6 ال ن ر و ر ب س الر ع the Lord of the Elevated Throne, wa rabba alkursiyyi alrrafi`i

7 ر ال م س ج ر ال ب د و ر ب the Lord of the swollen ocean, wa rabba albahri almasjuri

8 ب ر و الز و اإل ه ج و ا ة الج ر و م و ز ل the Revealer of the Torah, the Gospel, and the Psalms, wa munzila alttawrati wal-injili wallzzaburi

9 Dua a al-ahad و ر ب الظو و ر و ال د ر the Lord of shade and heat, wa rabba alzzilli walharuri

10 Dua a al-ahad و م و ز ل ال ك ر ا ال ػ ظ م ن the Revealer of the Great Qur'an, wa munzila alqur'ani al`azimi

11 م ال و ر ب ال ال م ك ر ب ن ة ئ ن and the Lord of the Archangels, wa rabba almala'ikati almuqarrabina

12 Dua a al-ahad و االه ب اء س ل ن و ال م ر the Prophets, and the Messengers: wal-anbiya'i walmursalina

13 إ ه اس ال م ال ن ر م لل م ا م ب اس م Dua a al-ahad O Allāh, I beseech You in Your Noble Name, allahumma inni as'aluka bismika alkarimi

14 و ب و ر و ج م ال م و ر in the Light of Your Luminous Face wa binuri wajhika almuniri

15 ال ك د م ل ن م و م and Your Eternal Kingdom. wa mulkika alqadimi

16 ا خ ا ل م O Ever-living! O Self-Subsistent! ya hayyu ya qayyumu

17 ذ م ال ي اش ر ل ا ت و االر ض ن ت Dua a al-ahad ال م ب اس م ب ي الس اس م او I beseech You in the name of Your Name with which the heavens and the earth have lit up as'aluka bismika alladhi ashraqat bihi alssamawatu wal-araduna

18 ذ ص ل ح و ب اس م م ال ي االو ل ن و اال خ ر و ن ب ي and in Your Name with which the past and the coming generations have become upright! wa bismika alladhi yasluhu bihi alawwaluna wal-akhiruna

19 Dua a al-ahad ه و خ ا خ ا ل ب و O He Who has been always alive before the existence of all living things! ya hayyan qabla kulli hayyin

20 Dua a al-ahad ه و خ خ ا ب ػ د و ا O He Who shall be alive after the extinction of all living things! wa ya hayyan ba`da kulli hayyin

21 خ ا و ا خ ن ال خ O He Who has been always alive even when there was nothing else alive! wa ya hayyan hina la hayyu

22 ت ث و م م اء االخ ال م ا م د O He Who revives the dead ones and causes the living ones to die! ya muhyiya almawta wa mumita alahya'i

23 Dua a al-ahad ا خ ال إ لي ت إ ال اه O Ever-living! There is no god save You. ya hayyu la ilaha illa anta

24 ا م ي ه لل م ب ل ؼ م ال اإل م ا ال اد ا ك ال م د ي ال ك ائ م ب ام ر Dua a al-ahad O Allāh, convey to our master Imam al-mahdi, the guide who is to undertake Your orders, allahumma balligh mawlana al-imama alhadiya almahdiyya alqa'ima bi'amrika

25 Dua a al-ahad ي الل ص ل ات الط ا ر ن غ ل ا ب ائ ي ل و غ ي may Allāh s blessings be upon him and upon his immaculate fathers, salawatu allahi `alayhi wa `ala aba'ihi alttahirina

26 غ ن ج م ع ال م ؤ م و ن و ال م ؤ م و ات on behalf of all of the believing men and women `an jami`i almu'minina walmu'minati

27 م ش ار ق ار ب ا و م ؾ ض االر in the east and west of the earth fi mashariqi al-ardi wa magharibiha

28 س ل ا و ج ب ل ا and in plains, mountains, sahliha wa jabaliha

29 و ب ر ا و ب د ر ا lands, and seas, wa barriha wa bahriha

30 و غ و و غ ن و ال د ي and on behalf of my parents wa `anni wa `an walidayya

31 Dua a al-ahad ي الل ش ر ز ه ة غ ا ت الص ل م ن (convey to him) blessings that are as weighty as Allāh s Throne, min alssalawati zinata `arshi allahi

32 و م د اد ه ل م اث ي as much as the ink of His Words, wa midada kalimatihi

33 و م ا اخ ص اى غ ل م ي و اخ اط ب ي ه ج اب ي and as many as that which is counted by His knowledge and encompassed by His Book. wa ma ahsahu `ilmuhu wa ahata bihi kitabuhu

34 Dua a al-ahad لل م ا إ ه اج د د ل ي ص ب د ة م ذ ا O Allāh, I update to him in the beginning of this day allahumma inni ujaddidu lahu fi sabihati yawmi hadha

35 و م ا غ ش ت م ن ا ام and throughout the days of lifetime a pledge, wa ma `ishtu min ayyami

36 و غ دا و ب ػ كدا ة ل ي غ و ك غ a covenant, and allegiance to which I commit myself `ahdan wa `aqdan wa bay`atan lahu fi `unuqi

37 Dua a al-ahad غ و ال اخ ل ي و ال ازول اب دا and from which I neither convert nor change. la ahulu `anhu wa la azulu abadan

38 اج ػ ل و م م ن اه ص ار ى الل O Allāh, (please do) make me of his supporters, allahumma ij`alni min ansarihi

39 Dua a al-ahad اب ن اه ي و اغ و الذ غ و ي sponsors, defenders, wa a`wanihi waldhdhabbina `anhu

40 س ار غ ن و ال م إ ل ي ل ض ا ء Dua a al-ahad خ ائ ج ي and those who hurry in carrying out his instructions, walmusari`ina ilayhi fi qada'i hawa'ijihi

41 Dua a al-ahad و ال م م ج ث ل ن ال و ام ر ى those who comply with his orders, walmumtathilina li'awamirihi

42 Dua a al-ahad غ و ي ام ن و ال م د those who uphold him, walmuhamina `anhu

43 Dua a al-ahad إ ر اد ث ي إ ل اب ك ن و الس those who precede others to implementing his will, walssabiqina ila iradatihi

44 و ال م س ج ش د ن ي ب ن د and those who will be martyred before him. walmustashhadina bayna yadayhi

45 ت ال م إ ن خ ال Dua a al-ahad م ب و و ب و ي الل O Allāh, if death that You have made inevitably and certainly incumbent allahumma in hala bayni wa baynahu almawtu

46 ذ ل ج ي ج ػ ال ي ا غ ب اد ك خ ج ما ض غ ل Dua a al-ahad م ك upon Your servants stands between me and him, alladhi ja`altahu `ala `ibadika hatman maqdiyyan

47 Dua a al-ahad م ن ل ب ر ي ه ف و ز را م ؤ اخ ر ج و ث then (please do) take me out of my grave using my shroud as dress, fa'akhrijni min qabri mu'taziran kafani

48 ش ا را س ف unsheathing my sword, sharihan sayfi

49 ر دا ل و اث م ج holding my lance in my hand, mujarridan qanati

50 و ال ب الد اغ م ل ب ا د غ ة ال د اض ر اد ي and responding to the call of the Caller who shall announce (his advent) in urban areas and deserts. mulabbiyan da`wata aldda`i filhadiri walbadi

51 Dua a al-ahad ل ػ الر ش د ة ة م ار ه الط الل O Allāh, (please do) show me his magnificent mien allahumma arini alttal`ata alrrashidata

52 Dua a al-ahad ة و ال ؾ ر ال د م د ة and his praiseworthy forehead, walghurrata alhamidata

53 و اه د و ي ه اظ ر ي ب و ظ ر ة م و إ ل delight my eyes by letting me have a look at him. wakhul naziri binazratin minni ilayhi

54 Dua a al-ahad ج و ر ج ي و غ And (please) expedite his relief, wa `ajjil farajahu

55 Dua a al-ahad و س و م خ ر ج ي make his reappearance easy, wa sahhil makhrajahu

56 و او س ع م و ج ي clear a spacious space for him, wa awsi` manhajahu

57 Dua a al-ahad و اس ل م ب م د ج ج ي guide me to follow his course, wasluk bi muhajjatahu

58 ام ر ى و اه ف ذ give success to his issues, wa anfidh amrahu

59 د د از ر ى و اش and confirm his strength. washdud azrahu

60 Dua a al-ahad الل م ر و اغ م ب ي ب الد ك O Allāh, construct Your lands through him wa`mur allahumma bihi biladaka

61 و اخ ب ي غ ب اد ك and refresh Your servants through him, wa ahyi bihi `ibadaka

62 ل ل م ت و إ ه م لل ال د ق: For You have said, and true are Your words: fa'innaka qulta wa qawluka alhaqqu

63 Dua a al-ahad ر ال ف س اد ر د و ال ب ال ب ر ظ Corruption has appeared in the land and the sea zahara alfasadu filbarri walbahri

64 ب م ا ه س ب ت ا د ي الو ا س. on account of what the hands of men have wrought. bima kasabat aydi alnnasi

65 الل م اظ ر ل و ا و ل م So, O Allāh, (please) show us Your vicegerent, fa'azhir allahumma lana waliyyaka

66 و اب ن م ب و ت ه ب the son of Your Prophet, wabna binti nabiyyika

67 Dua a al-ahad م ر س ل م ب اس ال م س م and the namesake of Your Messenger, almusamma bismi rasulika

68 و ا ل ي ي غ ل الل ي ص ل peace be upon him and his Household, salla allahu `alayhi wa alihi

69 خ ج ال ظ ف ر ب ش ء م ل ي إ ال م ز ال ب اط و ن so that he shall tear up any wrong item that he will face hatta la yazfara bishay'in min albatili illa mazzaqahu

70 Dua a al-ahad ك ك ي و د ال د ق د ق و and shall confirm and approve of the truth. wa yahiqqa alhaqqa wa yuhaqqiqahu

71 غا ل م ظ ل م و اج ػ ل ي الل م غ ب اد ك م ف ز O Allāh, (please) make him the shelter to whom Your wronged servants shall resort, waj`alhu allahumma mafza`an limazlumi `ibadika

72 اص را و ه اص را ل م ن ال ج د ل ي ه ؽ ر ك the supporter of those who cannot find any supporter save You, wa nasiran liman la yajidu lahu nasiran ghayraka

73 Dua a al-ahad م ن اخ ن ام د دا ل م ا غ و ط م ه ج اب م ج العهد و دعاء the reviver of the laws of Your Book that have been suspended, wa mujaddidan lima `uttila min ahkami kitabika

74 و م ش دا ل م ا و ر د م ن اغ الم م د و م و س و ن ه ب and the constructor of all signs of Your religion and instructions of Your Messenger, wa mushayyidan lima warada min a`lami dinika wa sunani nabiyyika

75 وا ل ي ي غ ل الل ي ص ل peace be upon him and his Household, that he will see. salla allahu `alayhi wa alihi

76 و اج ػ ل ي ن الل م م م ن خ ص و ج ي م Dua a al-ahad ب اس ال م ػ ج د ن O Allāh, (please) include him with those whom You protect from the domination of the aggressors. waj`alhu allahumma mimman hassantahu min ba'si almu`tadina

77 ب م م د م دا س ر ه م و الل O Allāh, (please) delight Your Prophet Muhammad, allahumma wa surra nabiyyaka muhammadan

78 وا ل ي ي غ ل الل ي ص ل peace be upon him and his Household, salla allahu `alayhi wa alihi

79 ب ػ ي ب ر ؤ ج ي و م ن ث غ ل د غ ث ي as well as all those who followed him in his promulgation by making (us) see him, biru'yatihi wa man tabi`ahu `ala da`watihi

80 ج و م و ار خ ب ػ د ى ا اس ج ن اه and (please) have mercy upon our humiliation after him. warham istikanatana ba`dahu

81 ؾ م ذ ى ؿ اه ش ال غ ن ة Dua a al-ahad م الل االم ة ذ ى ب د ض ر ى O Allāh, (please) relieve this community from the (current) grief through presenting him allahumma ikshif hadhihi alghummata `an hadhihi al-ummati bihudurihi

82 Dua a al-ahad ر ى ج و ل و ا ظ و غ and expedite his advent for us: wa `ajjil lana zuhurahu

83 . و ه ر اى ل ر با إ ه م ر و ه ي ب ػ دا Surely, they think it to be far off, and We see it nigh. innahum yarawnahu ba`idan wa narahu qariban

84 ب ر خ م ج م ا ار خ م الر اخ م ن [do all that] In the name of Your mercy; O most merciful of all those who show mercy. birahmatika ya arhama alrrahimina

85 Dua a al-ahad ي ال ػ ج و ال ػ ج و ام ال م ان ا ص اخ ب الز (We pray for Your) earliest advent, earliest advent, O Patron of the Age al`ajala al`ajala ya mawlaya ya sahiba alzzamani You may then slap your right thigh with your hand three times and, at each time, say the following words:

86 و م ص الل غ ل م د م د و ا م د م د Dua a al-ahad ل O' Allāh send Your blessings on Muhammad and the family of Muhammad. allahumma salli `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin
