1 Miss SCUBA International or MSI pageant began humbly in Kota Kinabalu, capital of Sabah, Malaysian Borneo It was founded and presided by Mr Robert Lo who is a strong believer in sustainable development within the realms of our marine environment. He hopes that by sharing the beauty and wonders of the underwater world via beauty queens, it will enable more people to understand how fragile our oceans are and how much more we all need to play our individual little roles to make a big difference in protecting it. Robert is also the Managing Director at Sipadan Mabul Resort Our goal is simple, to create awareness around the need to keep our oceans clean and healthy and encourage others to explore the world through SCUBA diving. Our tagline is "Saving Oceans Through Beauty" - We celebrate inner beauty and encourage the empowerment of the modern woman of today - We advocate for marine conservation - We promote safe and environmental aware diving practices. During the pageant, finalists competes in various categories such as knowledge of marine conservation, proficiency in modeling & catwalk, as well as showing their own particular stage talent. Our finalists also participate in beach cleanups and underwater cleanups, as well as visiting a variety of charities and explore cultural heritage sites. Our conservation partners includes; - WWF-Malaysia Manta Trust Green Fins and Shark Savers 1

3 Criteria of Participation citizen or permanent resident in the country of which they represent between years of age at the date of the International Pageant a minimum 5'4' or 164cm in height (barefoot) able to converse in basic English able to swim and a certified diver, at least until the first level (Open Water or equivalent) keen and motivated to promote the sport of Scuba Diving and Marine Conservation female by birth good health and good moral character single and never been married not pregnant and never given birth to a child not under contract with any person, firm, pageant or corporation that would prevent her appearance or participation in the Miss Scuba International Pageant Criteria for Judging: 1. Individual Talent (performance by individual contestant) 2. Personality (includes attitude towards other contestants & pageant crew, work ethics & contestant participation in the individual events) 3. Marine Conservation Knowledge (awareness of issues affecting our current global environment) 4. Catwalk & Appearance (body confidence, stage presence, poise and natural beauty with minimal make-up 5. Questions & Answers (spontaneity, pertinence of answers & ability to think on her feet) 3

4 Miss Scuba International is scheduled from 6 th to 18 th November 2018, 17 th November being the Grand Finals in Magellan Sutera Resort Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia. While the cost of accommodation, designated meals, ground transfer and training/workshop during the pageant official event period will be shouldered by the Miss Scuba International organisation. Air tickets and competition wear (such as national costume, swimwear, evening gown) is not included and on personal expense. The whole duration for the official event is just under 2 weeks (13 days/12 nights). Its highly recommended MSI Australia spends an additional 1-day minimum pre and post MSI Sipadan Mabul Resort (SMART) 4
