2 A degree or diploma in the field of archaeological restoration, history or social sciences Immersion titles: An international valid divers degree or licence (Examples: CAS, ACUC, PADI, etc.). Documents: Please send the following documents to the secretariat of the course (preferably in digital format), before August the 2 nd of 2011: - etter requesting admission to the course with the affirmation to complete it - Copy of the academic degree - Copy of a valid medical certificate for underwater immersion - C, photo - Copy of an insurance policy covering diving accidents Once the participant has been accepted for the course, please send: - Copy flight reservation (round trip) to Cartagena and which should cover the duration of the course - The detail of diving equipment needed. If you require a wetsuit, vest or dive fins, you should provide sufficient data to determine the size (weight, height, shoe size, etc.). Cost of the course: The course is free of charge including accommodation and meal (breakfast lunch supper) between 18 September and 29 October Expenses to be covered by the students: - Transportation to Cartagena (round trip) - Transportation in the city - Excursions - All costs that might occur and that do not relate to teaching, accommodation and meals. aterial to be provided by the student: The course participants must bring immersion equipment of, except the lead belt and air cylinders. In justified cases useum will provide the necessary equipment. PROGRA Objectives: The course aims to provide basic training in underwater archaeology to those people who have a background and academic educations related to cultural heritage, and that have an experience, however minimal, in diving. Assessment: The students will complete two assignments during the duration of the course: - Presentation of the duration of a half-hour, on the situation of underwater archaeology in the respective country, covering: o egal aspects. o Projects o Etc. - Written work developing one of the topics discussed during the course. 2
