2 PEC Basic / SafeGulf / SafeLand This course shall have no prerequisites Hours Course length will vary with the number of students participating API RP 75 API RP T 1 This training course is designed to: Prepare the employee to know what types of additional training they will need in order to work in their job capacity Create a mindset that will help them to play an active role in the company safety program By the end of this course, participants will be trained to awareness level in the following topics. SafeGulf Certification Welding Safety SafeLand Certification Defensive Driving Confined Space HAZWOPER (Operations Level) Rigging Fire Protection Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) Access to Medical Records Lockout / Tagout Forklift Safety Fall Protection Respiratory Protection Hazmat (HM 126) Electrical Safety Hazardous Communications Terrorism Response Awareness Program Personal Protective Equipment Back Safety Hearing Conservation Alcohol and Substance Abuse Awareness Emergency Response Offshore Transportation Process Safety Management Offshore Safety Student Manual No refresher training required
3 RIGGING, Safe Practices This course shall require the employee to have completed the Rigging portion of the PEC Basic API RP 2D Current Edition Define the requirements of a Qualified Rigger in accordance with API RP 2D Identify potential pinch points Define recommended hand signals according to API RP 2D Identify proper PPE to be used when working around rigging operations Identify correct recommended practices and guidelines to perform safely while working with cranes Demonstrate necessary skills to perform safely in the capacity of a Qualified Rigger Various types of rigging material Crane with certified operator This course is required to be refreshed every 4 years
4 Fall Protection User / Rescue This course shall require the employee to have completed the Fall Protection portion of the PEC Basic OSHA 29 CFR Identify fall hazards in the workplace Define application limitations of fall arrest systems Identify proper hook up, anchoring, and tie off techniques Identify various types of fall protection equipment and systems Demonstrate the proper use of a full body harness, to the instructors satisfaction by classroom exercise Define proper inspection an storage of fall protection equipment Define proper procedures for utilizing rescue devices Complete approved rescue plan forms Various types of fall protection and rescue equipment Sample rescue plan This course is required to be refreshed every 4 years
5 INCIPIENT FIRE / FIRE WATCH This course shall require the employee to have completed the Fire Protection portion of the PEC Basic 29 CFR CFR (g) 30 CFR CFR (USCG) API RP 14G API T 4 API RP 75 Describe general Fire begavior and characteristics as it pertains to portable extinguisher use and the prevention of fires Define verious keys to fire prevention Define various kesy to safely fighting fires Define the 5 classes of fire and itdentify the extinguishing methods for each Recognize the hazards involved with incipient fire fighting Define welding rules and regulations Define the duties of a Firewatch Demonstrate the proper use of a portable fire extinguisher Demonstrate proper use of protable gas detector Sample How Work Permit Portable Fire Extinguishers This course is required to be refreshed every 3 years
