Chicago, IL The complete Ski Week info is on the Website! FROM YOUR PRESIDENT Ted Rutherford Greetings fellow American Airlines Ski & Snowboard Team Members. L-R: Lt Dan Rigterink, Bob Antal (B-Team Captain), Fritzy Bobby Moyer (SWA Puke/great dude), John Mighty Quinn (Former Pres), YHS (Me) I hope everyone has had a Bitchin Summer! Now is the time to start thinking snow, and riding & sliding the surly bounds of gravity. What a wonderfully successful year that we have had: Five time sweep of the North American Airline Ski Federation (NAASF) Championship; Current 3 rd place in the World Airline Ski
Ski Federation (NAASF) Championship; Current 3 place in the World Airline Ski Championships (IASF); the current Chuck Wagner Memorial NAASF Skier of the Year, our own former President Kent KJ Johnson. We also have one of the most diverse, active, and greatest depth of winter skills of all the teams. Last year we added almost 50 new members; our goal this year is to keep adding to the more the merrier regime. I would like to again welcome some new positions on the team: Bob Antal, our new B-Team captain replaces Laurie Hanson (she has graciously volunteered to be our IASF Room Mom this year) thanks Laurie! Our new Uniform Coordinator: Jim Hershey accepts the reins from Jim Chicken Head Tullos. Jim has taken on the new position of Social Czar/Head Ambassador of our team! I am really looking forward to working with your new Vice President, Nathan Green, whom you will not find a finer gentlemen. Kati Conti is our new Tech Liaison with the company. Greg Gilger, your new Sec/Tres has done a superb job of continuing the work of our former Sec/Tres Denise Connell had commenced. On that note, thanks for all of the great help, hard work and pass down of gouge from both KJ and Denise. As we head into the new season of 2017/18, I would also like to congratulate Greg Gilger and Craig Watkins, as they step up to the A-Team, best of luck gents! Please keep our teammate Laurie Garland in your thoughts and prayers as she fights for her health: Laurie Garland, 3 rd from the left Again, we have a great season on tap, please pass the word about how great and fun this club is to your fellow employees and friends. Honored to be your president!
Honored to be your president! Very Respectfully, Ted Rutherford FROM YOUR Vice PRESIDENT Nathan Green Hello Boarders and Skiers, I hope everyone had a fantastic summer, enjoyed the warm weather and was able to catch up on all of those lingering projects that we seem to never finish. Tough times for those living in east Texas, Caribbean and Florida just remember tough times don t last forever but tough people do. But here is the good news, Snow season is right around the corner and before you know it we will be kicking off the 2017/2018 season with the AA SkiSnowboard training camp at Steamboat Springs CO. It ll be hard to beat the record breaking snowfall last year but we ll keep our fingers crossed and hope for another banner year. We have an outstanding lineup of ski weeks this year, and we are looking forward to the best season yet. AA's Training Camp Steamboat Springs CO Dec 4-7 NAASF Week Steamboat Springs CO Jan NAASF Week Heavenly CA Feb IASF Kitzbuhel Austria Mar NAASF Week Crested Butte CO Mar A huge shout out to all who attended last year our membership is growing because of YOU. YOU spreading the word about the club has sparked a lot of interest and we are expecting to see more new faces this year. That being said, please pay your annual dues and rsvp to each event as early as possible this is a tremendous help to the organizers who do a wonderfully amazing job of setting up each week. If you haven t joined our FaceBook group page, please do (facebook.com/groups/aaskisnowboard/). Other than our Website, it is also a great source of information. Looking Forward to a great Snow Season, THINK SNOW, Nathan
Nathan FROM YOUR "A" Team Captain Mike Williams Well we have won five straight overall cups and six straight NAASF cups. Let's keep it up! It is susposed to snow tomorrow at lake level so it's time to get thinking about skiing. Some early season exercises that could help : sit with your back against a wall perpendicular with the wall, work up to five minutes. Try hiking up a hill and jumping down the hill feet together like your a bunny or doing jump turns down the mountain. Get out and ride a bike or do anything that gets the old ticker ticking See ya on the slopes. Mike Williams FROM YOUR "B" Team Captain Bob Antal Ladies and gentlemen of the B team, I am honored to have been offered the opportunity to serve as your B team Captain. While I'm certainly not as attractive as our outgoing leader, I'll try to represent you well. Ok, let's get to it. Hope you've all been doing some off-season training. If not, this is a good time to begin. Some suggested areas of emphasis are: strength training ( weights/ plyometrics), yoga, cardio, etc.. Hopefully, you can all try to make it to race camp and it would be great to get to your local mountain to get some skiing in before then. Attend race clinics, if you can, and ski with people better than you. There's lots of excellent racing video available on YouTube and other sources. The
There's lots of excellent racing video available on YouTube and other sources. The more prepared we are for the race season, the more fun it will be. If I can be of help to you in any way, please feel free to contact me by phone, text or . Looking forward to a fantastic season and great times with you all. Thanks, bob. FROM YOUR Snowboard Captain Eric Bergman I HAVE A DREAM! I have seen the future, and there is snow in it! While flying, I have looked down upon the earth below and seen the future.... but none back here in Maine/New Hampshire. Now is the time to break out the wax (No body wax, Dennis!) and start the stretching (Chicken Man?) so we are ready for those moguls, trees and stubborn gates. Find your toes; touch them. Twist around to see your shadow. Get those knees pumping for the dance floor... Let's get ready for a great season and enjoy the future! Skunky FROM YOUR Uniform Co- Ordinator Jim Hershey Hi skiers and boarders.. Hope everyone had a great "off season"! We have a few Team jackets available in stock, if you are interested go to the

Steamboat has reserved some of the top Ski and Snowboard Coaches for the AA Ski and Snowboard Club.
