1 Villa Pandora Information Pack INTRODUCTION Welcome to Villa Pandora and we hope you have a lovely stay whilst you are here. We have put this information pack together to try and help you get the most out of your holiday and to inform you of the things that are available to you in the area. If you have any problems or query s whilst you are staying here then please feel free to use the contact numbers available at any time for assistance. 3 Directions to Villa Full address : Ellena Gardens, Phase 2 House No. 5, Ayia Thekla Thekla Rothesi Area 5391 Famagusta Cyprus The airport is laid back from the road and has a single road that comes in from a roundabout and goes through the airport and back out to the same roundabout again in a rough semi circle There are numerous car parks in the middle where if you are getting a hire car it will probably be parked. On leaving any of the car parks you will be in a one way system that will take you to the roundabout mentioned above. When you get to the roundabout you can only go one way which will take you onto the A3 which is the road the villa is off of. Stay on the A3 and in about 35 miles (30mins) you will start to see signs for XYLOSIGIA. You will pass 3 of these signs and then you will see a sign for SOTIRA. Take the turn off for SOTIRA and when you get to the end of the road you will see signs saying Left for Sotira and Right for Water Park and Agia Thekla. Turn right. Go to the end of this road and turn right again. You are now on the road to the villa. Proceed along this road (with the sea to your left) and you will see Villa complexes to your left and right. About 600 yards down this road on the left hand side you will see a sign post for 65 the speed limit and another sign for bendy road. Opposite these signs will be Elena Gardens 3 then look for Elena Gardens 1 (written on a wall on your right) the very next turning will read Elena Gardens 2. Turn right up the road for Elena Gardens 2 and take the first turning on the right (currently the only one but this may change in time) the 4 th Villa on the Left (No 5) is where you will be staying. The key to the Villa is held in a door safe on the front door and the combination will have been given to you.

4 Information on Villa Here are some of the things that you might find useful to know about the villa. Please take a few minutes to just browse through to familiarise yourself with the content. Starter Pack This starter pack will have been sent to you prior to your arrival and please have a look in case you have any questions or concerns. Keys The keys to the villa will be left in a Key Safe on the front door by the cleaners just prior to your arrival and removed after you have gone. The Combination to this will be provided after booking has been completed. T.V, DVD, and Satellite There is a 40 T.V that has a Satellite connection with quite a few English channels. Underneath the T.V is a DVD player as well. If you bring your own DVD s you can watch these or the English channels on the Satellite. TV also has USB for movies etc on a External HDD Music Player Under the TV is also a music player with CD, Radio and IPOD Docking station. The radio is tuned to the local English channel and it has an external switch which you can use to switch between internal or external speakers. Outside speakers have also been installed in Pergola area. Switch 1 is for internal speakers and switch 2 is for external speakers. WIFI 2MB (Free) The WIFI is new for 2014 the SSID or Network name = CYTA07CE88 Password = erc66hba Outside Pergola Lounge Area With lighting and music This was installed in April 2014 and consists of Rattan Sofa and Chairs as well as a table for drinks. Pictures have been uploaded to the web site.

5 Water Cooler There is a water cooler in the kitchen which supplies cool drinking water. This is via an 18 Litre bottle that sits in the top. To fill this up you must remove the bottle and take it to the filling station. When you remove the bottle you must take the little plastic cap from the bottle and apply to the cap so that when the bottle is full and you try to place back on the cooler no water comes from the cap. To get to the filling station you must get to the main road and turn left. After about 200 yards you will see a road on the right leading to the local supermarket (Zafiri). At the corner of this road is the filling station and it costs 1 Euro to fill the 18 Litre bottle. Dustbins and Rubbish There is no rubbish collection at the actual villa like back home. There is a big green wheelie bin at the end of the road by the entrance to the Villas, and we would ask that you take all rubbish to this when required. The bin men will collect it from here. First Aid The first aid kit is located in the kitchen in the wall cupboard by the fridge Freezer. Its a fairly comprehensive kit which includes bandages, plasters, and cleaning fluids. Stair Gates There are stair gates in the Garden Shed that can be applied to the top and bottom of the staircase as this is marble and could be dangerous to young children. Safe There is a safe in the main bedroom which can be used if required for the storage of any valuables. We do not guarantee anything stored in here but you are welcome to use it. The combination is 1415A. This does change yearly. Cool Box This is stored under the sink to the right hand side and the ice packs are stored in the freezer. This is great for use if you go to the beach or on days out. Torches There is a torch located in the same cupboard as above. It may need the contacts cleaned before use as they can sometimes oxidise and wont work. Scrape the brass contacts and this should be ok.

6 Ant Powder Ants can be a problem if food is left out or dropped in the garden or house. There is Ant power in the cupboard with the first aid kit and more powder can be obtained from the local supermarkets or the one in Paralimini. You will be surprised how quickly they are gone once the powder is down. Light Bulbs There are spare light bulbs for all the lights in the Villa in the same cupboard as above. Please feel free to use if required or replacements can be found in the local supermarket. Washing Machine There is an integrated washing machine in the kitchen. Washing powder and conditioner can be obtained from local supermarkets. 15min eco spin is very good. Garden Shed In the garden shed you will find many things that may be of use to you during your stay and this will be unlocked for you before your arrival and locked again when you leave. Some of the contents of the shed I have listed below Lilo s and inflatable (rings, etc) BBQ There are normally firelighters in the shed and charcoal, but both can be obtained from the local supermarket Buckets and Spades for beach Paint and screws Just in case you fancy doing any odd D.I.Y jobs around the Villa Extra sun beds and loungers.

7 Air Conditioning There are 5 Air Con units in the Villa and they are situated in the following locations. 1 in each of the 3 bedrooms 1 in the dining space 1 in the living room Each of these units has its own remote control There are 3 main things to setup and they are very straightforward. 1. Press the switch on the wall underneath the Aircon unit to set the time req d (30mins to 2 hrs) 2. Temperature I would suggest leaving the temp set between 19 and 21 as this will cool the room nicely and will not cause any condensation to occur 3. Mode Use the ICON that looks like a sun as this gives a nice steady rate of blowing. 4. Fan This just sets the speed of the fan and it has three settings (slow, medium and fast) When you are in the Villa I would suggest keeping the front door and kitchen window open along with the sliding doors to the back garden. This creates a lovely through breeze which keeps the whole ground floor area cool. This will probably mean that you will not have to use the Air Con downstairs at all (not that we are tight at all and don t want to pay the electric bill ). You can also use the light fan units we have downstairs as well to circulate the air and keep you cool. Of an evening I suggest turning the Air Con units in the bedroom on, about an hour or 2 before you go to bed. This will cool the bedroom down, and once in bed you can turn them off as you will be fast asleep before you know it. Please, please, please do not leave the Air Con units on when you leave the Villa if you will be out for the day. Thank You

8 Electric and Fuse Box The Villa has three fuse boxes at the moment as the surrounding area is developed, and this will be reduced to just two once the next phase is completed. In the event that a fuse is blown (remembering that the Cyprus electric system is not as good as ours) you will have three places that you will need to check to see if a switch or breaker requires resetting. 1. The house has a fuse box just inside the front door on the right hand side and this is just like our fuse boxes back home with standard R.C.D switches or breakers. If one is down simple flick the switch. 2. Outside the Villa to the right about 10 yards down the road there are three sheds. The middle shed contains the electric switches for each Villa and are numbered accordingly (remember you are Villa No 5). If this is down then again just flick it up. 3. Each of the Ellena Gardens complexes (there are 3) has its own set of sheds just like the ones in the option above. In the event that options 1 and 2 do not resolve the issue you will have to go to the sheds within the Ellena Gardens 3 complex as there is a switch in here for the Villas in Ellena Gardens 2 and this may need to be reset. The switch for our Villa (No 5) is located at the back of the shed on the right hand side near the bottom. We have numbered the switch with felt pen to make it easier to recognise. If you are careful and do not have too many appliances running at the same time i.e. all the Air Con Units, The Oven, Microwave, Kettle etc etc then you should be fine and will experience no problems. In our experience the switch that is more likely to go will be the one in option 3. It is worth taking the car to this although the distance is only about 400 yards. To get to the sheds at Ellena Gardens 3 you will have to go out the Villa down to the main road and turn left. Take the first turning on the left (you will see an Ellena Gardens 3 sign on the wall) and follow this to the top of the road (this is about 30 yards). On the right hand side you will see the three sheds and you want the middle one.

9 Water Supply There are a couple of things I would like to mention about the water system. 1. The supply in Cyprus can be unpredictable depending on the amount of water that has fallen throughout the winter. 2. There are tanks on the roof which store cold and hot water and when water supplies are low the supply is turned off at certain times during the day when the tanks on the roof are used. 3. We have a small tap on the main taps in the kitchen where the water supply comes straight from the mains and not via the cold tank on the roof. This can be used to test to see if the water is on or not. 4. The Hot Water is heated via solar panels on the roof and so like at home once all the hot water has been used you have to wait for more to be heated. We also have an immersion heater that operates after the sun has gone down. 5. When the water supply is being restricted the following tips will be of use Use bottled water for Kettle use (tea coffee and also for filling the sink for washing up), and brushing your teeth. A crate will cost about 1 from the local supermarket. When showering get wet and then turn the shower off. Use soap and shampoo and then turn the shower back on for rinsing only. If you run the tank dry by mistake, the water pump will be deactivated and will remain so even after the water is back on and the tank is full. This is a safety feature and requires the pump to be reset. There is a switch outside the main bathroom that Is labelled Water Pump and this will require turning off and then back on again to reset the pump. Toilets Try to use toilets sensibly and flush only when absolutely required. Washing Machine Try and use this only when the water supply is on. Use small tap in the kitchen to test when this is so. These tips will ensure that you always have water when you need it and will prevent any inconvenience. Thank You

10 Pool Service and Advice The pool is maintained all year round by our pool man Andreas. As is the custom in Cyprus he will probably just walk straight round the side and into the garden to perform the following steps. These will be done about twice a week. 1. Water level This will be checked and topped up if required by the pool man 2. Chemical checks These will be checked and topped up if required. 3. Pool Surface Skim The pool will be cleaned of any leaves or other debris that may have found its way into the pool. 4. Pool Hoover - This will remove all dirt etc from the pools bottom. 5. Pool Liner Due to the reaction between the Sun, the chemicals in the pool, and most importantly the sun cream that people use. A line may be seen round the pool at the surface once you have been there a day or two. The pool man will clean this to the best of his abilities on every visit. As protection from the sun is the most important thing especially for the children this is unavoidable. IMPORTANT: - When the area around the pool gets wet it becomes very slippery. We have installed stamped concrete to help with this but it can still be very dangerous. We advise that children do not run around the pool area and that some form of shoes are used to help prevent any accidents.

11 Maid Service The maid service is performed before and after every visit to the Villa. Once you are at the Villa the maid will NOT come round unless this is arranged by yourself through us before you go. The maid service includes the following services. 1. Linen Clean linen will be fitted to all beds 2. Towels These are cleaned after every visit 3. Toilet rolls Only initial ones supplied. 4. Small Starter pack. 5. Keys The keys to the villa will be left in the Key Safe on the front door before your arrival and will be removed once you have gone. 6. Shed The shed will be unlocked before you arrive and locked after you leave. 7. Sun loungers These will be setup before you arrive and stored once you leave. If you would like additional visits whilst you are at the villa please let Paul Sutton or Tony Bunce know and we will arrange this for you. There will be an additional cost if this is required which will be payable by yourself. Thank You

12 Shopping Supermarkets There are numerous supermarkets dotted around which will supply a whole range of products. I have listed the closest one to the villa and also the biggest one. You will also find others along the coast road as well if req d Closest Supermarket directions Go to the bottom of the road and turn left After about 300 yards turn right (you will see signs for the supermarket on the left) About 150 yards down this road on the right hand side is the supermarket. Biggest Supermarket directions Kikkounous Go to the bottom of the road and turn left. About 1KM take left turn towards motorway Take left exit for Ayia Napa, and Protaras (Not Larnica exit) Carry on to the end of the motorway and turn left at the roundabout (heading toward Paralimini) Continue over the next roundabout heading again toward Paralimini. Keep going until you hit the town centre. Go over x2 sets of traffic lights Super Market is on the right hand side roughly 500 yards down. The large supermarket is not open on Sundays and is only open for a half day on Wednesday. The small supermarket is great for most things but for a greater choice at a slightly cheaper cost the larger supermarket is the best.

13 Butchers Out of the Villa and turn left. Continue until you reach a set of traffic lights and go straight across these. After the traffic lights look for a turning on the left, (like a fork in the road, and a Mexican Restaurant). Go up this road bare left and at the top turn right the butchers is on the left. Bakers - 24 Hour Bakery (Zorbas) Out of the Villa and turn left. Head into Ayia Napa and before McDonald s, Zorbas bakery is on your left hand side. You can get fresh rolls and bead here along with a selection of cakes and other food items.

14 Local Beaches There are numerous beaches near the villa. The best of the beaches that I have been to is the local Ayia Thekla Beach which has a great restaurant and bar with very friendly staff (try the pork chop as it is unbelievable). This is easy to get to as you just turn left onto the coast road and then turn right just past the road to the motorway which will be on your left after about 600 yards. For one with more fascilities try the beach by the DOME and ASTERIAS hotels. This beach is very clean with beautiful white sand and crystal clear water. It has a restaurant and small shop as well as two big hotels who s amenities can be used as well. I have listed below the directions to this and also some of the things it offers. Directions At bottom of villa road turn Left After about 2-3KM you will see Makronissos village on your left. Turn right for the Dome Hotel and the Asterias Hotel. About 100 yards down this road turn left. After the entrance for Asterias Hotel Park Car anywhere and the beach is right in front of you. Beach Amenities Restaurant and Toilets These can be found by the Restaurant and also by the hotels. Swimming Pools You can use the the pools in the hotels that front the beach. Beds and Umbrella s These are about 2 Euros each and are well worth it. Showers Jet Ski s, Pedallo s, Flying Mattress, Paragliding When you get to the beach turn left and pitch up about 60 yards down. This keeps you away from the entrance but close to the hotel. This is the best plot I think. It may be an idea to drive down early in the car and get the spot you want by putting your towels down and paying for the beds.

15 Places to Eat There are numerous places to eat if you leave the Villa and turn left heading towards Ayia Napa. I have listed a small selection that I enjoyed and rough directions. The Atlas Italian restaurant with kids play area. Does very good Garlic Mushrooms, Prawns, and tomato soup starters. Directions Out of Villa and turn left. Continue along this road for about 2KM past the waterpark and Go-Karts and you will find the Atlas restaurant on the left hand side. Kings Sword Pub restaurant with some kids games machine. Does a nice breakfast which is reasonably priced. Directions Out of Villa and turn left. Kings sword is about 1.5KM down on the left hand side. Opposite Road for Beach and Dome Hotel BlueBerries - To be added soon Directions Thomas Shack - To be added soon Directions Chinese Restaurant This does lovely food and the chief cooks it right in front of you with great tricks and some FIRE as well. Directions Out of Villa turn left. Continue until you reach a set of traffic lights and go straight across. After the lights look for a turning on the left (like a fork in the road, and a Mexican Restaurant). Go up this road and before you go left round the bend, on the right hand side is the Chinese restaurant.

16 Entertainment There are numerous things to do in and around the Villa and I have listed a few of the ones that I have tried or have been recommended to me. Water Park This is the biggest Themed Water Park in Europe and it is located about 1.5Km down the road from the villa. You can find more details about this via the website we have for the villa (see link on contacts page). To get to the water park go out the villa and turn left at the bottom of the road. About 1.5Km down this road you will see the water park on your left. There is a very big car park here as well where you can leave the car. You are not allowed to take food into here though. Go-Karts There is a go cart track right next to the Water Park which is very exciting and lots of fun. The track is quite big and the karts are very fast. See above for directions Water Sports There are all manner of water sports at the beach by the Dome hotel. These include Jet Ski s Wind surfing Paragliding Flying Fish. Please see local beaches page for directions. Fun Fair In Ayia Napa centre just before you reach the McDonalds you will see the Fun Fair on the right hand side. It has numerous rides for children of all ages like Trampolines Ghost Train Amusements Bumper Cars and many more Look for the two towers with multi coloured lights on which is for the Volcano ride. Crazy Golf & Small Water Park Opposite the McDonalds by the fun fair

17 Doctors and Chemists The people in the chemists near the villa are very knowledgeable and are more like doctors that just chemist staff. I have been to a few of these during my stays in Cyprus and have never been disappointed by the service and advice that they have given to me. You can tell the chemists quite easily as they all have the following sign outside them The directions to the nearest of these Chemists and the one that I usual use is Outside the Villa turn left Continue for about 3KM heading into Ayia Napa Chemist is on left hand side of road. Additional Chemist can be found by continuing along this same road into Ayia Napa Should you need any medical assistance at all I would try these places first. They will provide everything from Antibiotics to Ear Drops and are very helpful. Thank You
