2 PRESIDENT S WELCOME On behalf of the committee of the Gympie Gold Fins Swimming Club I would like to welcome all past and new members to the Season. I am honoured to be elected to the President s role for the upcoming season and would like to thank fellow members for volunteering their time and taking on the various committee positions within our club. With your enthusiasm and dedication I am excited about the season ahead. This is the 12 th season of swimming club for me and my children Kellie and Scott. In this time I have taken on the roles of Treasurer, Race/Carnival Secretary and Publicity Officer and look forward to a new challenge this season as President. I encourage all members to become involved in club events. Club nights are a great way to start for swimmers this is an opportunity to put in place what you learn in training with the objective of setting personal goals and having fun for parents this is a great chance to ask those questions you may have about swimming while enjoying the friendly family atmosphere Friday Club Night provides. The success of our club cannot be achieved without parent volunteers so please consider helping throughout the season from time keeping at club nights to gate keepers at our annual Gold Rush Sprint Meet - all offers of support will benefit our club and most importantly our swimmers. Education about our club and swimming as a sport is important to me and I ask that all members read the club handbook which will be on our website. I encourage members to please ask questions if they are not sure about any aspect of club activities or swimming this is the best way to gain knowledge and get the most out of your involvement in the sport of swimming. Thank you parents for giving your child the opportunity to be part of our club and for the encouragement and support you give to them by making it possible for them to attend training, club nights and carnivals. This can be a huge commitment for the family and I know the swimmers appreciate it. I would like to wish all our swimmers a successful and enjoyable season while achieving your own personal goals. Yours in Swimming Cherie
