Event Format o The event will include novice and recreational opportunities. o Novice participants may compete in independent figure and routine competitions (figure scores will not be counted towards routine awards). Swimmers may enter figure and routine events, just the figure event or just the routine event. o Recreational swimmers may participate in independent Trillium Skill Pre-testing/Figure Experience and Routine Watershow activities. Swimmers may enter skill testing and watershow events, just the skill testing event or just the watershow event. Novice Figure Competition: The figure event will consist of the following figure competitions: & under 9/0 years / years - years -0 years Athletes with a disability (physical and cognitive) Swimmers may enter one figure competition only. Each age group will have figures to compete based on the Synchro Ontario novice figure groups. & Under Sailboat Single Somersault Back Tuck Front Pike Pulldown Split Position / Straight Leg Ballet Leg Barracuda st half Ballerina st half walkover back Athlete with a Disability Tub Turn and reverse (both directions) Sailboat Alternate Front Pike Pulldown Back Tuck Somersault 9/0 Ariana Rotation Back Layout to Ballet Leg Walkout Front (Split to layout) Front layout to Front pike to submerged double ballet leg - & -0 Ballet Leg Single Barracuda Walkover Front (Split to layout) Front layout to front pike to Fishtail For the figure competition, swimmers are asked to wear a one-piece suit and a bathing cap (please no two-piece suits if possible). Swimmers are encouraged to wear a solid black suit and white cap, but it is not mandatory. Swimmers entered at each age group will compete together; however, results will be divided by age. For example - will be ranked within their level by age (,,, etc.).
3 Please indicate the swimmers age on the entry form as of December, 0. Swimmers ranking st through th at each age will be awarded. All athletes will receive a participant ribbon. Novice Routine Competition: *The event will consist of the following routine competitions: & Under Team 9/0 Team / Team - Team -0 Team Athletes with a Disability Team, Duet/Solo: all abilities together Don t worry if your routines are not complete bring what you have and come and have some fun! 4 Recreational Trillium Pre-Testing/Figure Event Experience The skill pre-test and figure event experience will take place at each of Trillium through Trillium levels. There will be no Pansy Forbes evaluations. Swimmers may enter as many pre-tests as their instructor believes appropriate. Trillium pre-test skills include: Trillium -front layout -head and foot first sculling -extended front flutter -side flutter to extended back flutter -tub turn (one each way) -back tuck somersault -underwater ( m) -front crawl (0 m) Trillium -paddle scull -split scull (horizontal) -front pike somersault -side eggbeater (R & L) -ballet leg single -support scull on wall -underwater ( m) -front crawl (0 m) Trillium -barrel scull -whip kick with board -back crawl -back layout to extended back layout -sailboat alternate -back pike somersault -underwater (0 m) -front crawl ( m) Trillium -ballet leg to flamingo -butterfly kick (front & back) -forward eggbeater -back layout to inverted tuck -kick pull kick -bent knee position (R & L) -underwater (0 m) -front crawl (00 m) Trillium -propellor -breast stroke -reverse propeller -front pike pulldown -flamingo (R & L) -stationary eggbeater (:0) -underwater (. m) -front crawl (00 m) Trillium -eggbeater boost -butterfly stroke -fishtail position (R&L) -kipnus -pulldown to fishtail -vertical position -underwater ( m) -front crawl (00 m) For the Trillium skill pre-test, swimmers are asked to wear a one-piece suit and a bathing cap (please no two-piece suits if possible). Swimmers are encouraged to wear a solid black suit and white cap as part of the figure experience, but it is not mandatory. Participants will complete rotations of stations for each Trillium pre-test entered. Swimmers will receive a number for order of swim, and each station will begin with a different number (similar to figure panels in a figure competition). Each participant will have a skill passport and will receive a sticker on the passport for successful performance of each skill. If a swimmer is not able to successfully perform the skill they will not receive the sticker for that skill. Participants will be able to take the passport home as record of their achievement. Instructors can use this passport to help determine athlete readiness to complete their Trillium test. All swimmers will receive a participation ribbon.
5 Recreational Routine Watershow! The following age groups and events are welcome to participate in the Recreational Routine Watershow: 0 & Under Team, Duet/Solo / Team, Duet/Solo - Team, Duet/Solo -0 Team, Duet/Solo Athletes with a Disability Team, Duet/Solo: all abilities together Don t worry if your routines are not complete bring what you have and come and have some fun! Please label all files as per Synchro Ontario guidelines: (please also have a back-up ipod/phone source as well) Music File Format Please note that digital music will be used at this competition. There must be one digital file for each registered routine in an mp format, with a minimum required resolution of 9kbps. Coaches should review each digital file for quality, timing and completeness. (Please ensure that volume is consistent throughout all cuts of music)
6 Labeling Convention In order to correctly identify each swimmer s music, please name the file using the specific naming format as indicated below. IMPORTANT: Please make sure not to have any special characters (accents/punctuation marks, #, $, & etc.) in your file name your song file may not download correctly and will be missing from the competition folder. Note that underscores are acceptable and can be used to separate words. In order to avoid confusion at the competition music table, we ask coaches to ensure that the title of the song file, and the ID tag title of the song file are the same To do this on Windows PC: Right click on the song file > Select Properties > Select the Details tab Under the segment called Description, change the value of Title to match the file name (as per the naming convention outlined above) To do this in itunes: Right click on the song file > Select Get Info > Under the Details tab, change the value of Song name to match the file name (as per the naming convention outlined above) > Click OK Submission Deadline The deadline to send and confirm all routine music files is January, 0
