Online registration must be completed and entry fees must be in the hands of the Meet Manager by 11:59 pm on April 3, A surcharge summary sheet is included as part of this package and must be submitted with your surcharge fees. A pre-swimmer registration form MUST be submitted with your registration forms. No entry fees apply but the surcharge fee does. There will be no more than 2 pre-swimmers per figures age group and/or panel and no 2

3 more than two pre-swimmers per grouping of routines. Coaches/clubs will be contacted by the Meet Manager for confirmation of selected pre-swimmers and their respective schedule. COMMUNICATION: All information packages and other important communication will be available through the Synchro Alberta s website at: AGE GROUPS The following age categories are offered at the Synchro Alberta Spring Trophy: Stream (Canadian Entries Only) 8 & Under (Figures & Team only) PILOT EVENT 10 & Under NOVICE* years years National Stream (Canadian and International Entries) Junior EVENTS (Finals only) ELIGIBILITY This meet will be offering two streams of competition: 1. stream, rules as defined by the CASSA rules and Appendix I, open to only Canadian entries. 2. National/International stream open to all, rules as defined by the CASSA rulebook and FINA rules. Figures athletes registered only in a combo may also enter the figures event, 8 & Unders must be swimming a team Solos clubs will be limited to 2 per age group per club Duets Team teams may be comprised of 4-10 swimmers for Stream and 4-8 for National Stream & International Entries Combo All events open to all athletes Canadian entries must be CASSA (Synchro Canada) members Novice event: is for first year competitors that are 11 & over where this option is offered provincially. Only 8 & Unders swimming on a team are eligible for this figures event. 3

4 RULES SECOND INFORMATION PACKAGE This meet will be conducted under CASSA Rules. Please refer to the Synchro Canada Rulebook for clarification. Any exceptions to the rules will be noted in this package. Any technical questions should be directed to your provincial office, Please note: the 8 & Under event is a Pilot event that will be assessed for continuation of inclusion. It s primary intent is to offer an opportunity for younger swimmers that will be looking to compete the following season as an introduction to competition. AWARDS Medals will be awarded for 1 st, 2 nd and 3 rd and ribbons for 4 th, 5 th and 6th for championship score in solo, duet and team as well as combo. A trophy will be awarded in each stream of competition to the club with the highest overall point accumulation. Points information is included in this package. MUSIC Digital music will be used at this competition. Music must be uploaded using the link found at by April 15th, Music MUST be submitted as follows. There must be one digital file for each registered routine in the following format: - MP3 files with a.mp3 file extension - all music must be recorded in mono We recommend that you leave a 3 to 5 second lead time from play until the music 5

This rate is held until April 9, 2014, after this date it will be subject to room and rate availability. HOSPITALITY Figures hospitality will be provided and is mandatory for all participants for the Spring Trophy event. Hospitality during this event will include items such as fruit, juice, water, granola bar and/or fruit bar or other items. BANQUET Join us for a buffet dinner that will include beef with au jus, grilled breast of chicken with sauce, vegetable lasagna, chef s choice potato, seasonal vegetables, garden salad with house dressing, caesar salad, horseradish and green onion potato salad, international and domestic cheese board selection with crackers, dessert display including cakes, pies, squares, tarts and fresh fruit tray with seasonal berries, coffee and herbal tea. All this and some pop culture trivia too! So be red carpet ready for a fun night. The total points earned by the club will be divided by the total entries of the club. PROVINCIAL STREAM (for 10 & Under, 11-12, Novice, 13-15, events) NATIONAL STREAM (for 11-12, and Junior) Figure Points Solo/Duet Points Team/Combo Points 1st nd rd th th th Please note: in events that do not have 6 or more entries, points awarded will be scaled relative to the number of entries. For example, a duet event with only 2 duets will be awarded points equal to 5 th and 6 th. 7

8 DIAGRAM OF TALISMAN POOL LAYOUT SECOND INFORMATION PACKAGE The Figures competition will be held in the Dive Tank. The routines competitions will be held in the South competition pool, the north competition pool will be available for warm up and cool down. Please note that all routines will commence their walk on from the side marked by the star below and to exit the pool at the side marked by the. Spectator Gallery Athlete Area Routine entry point is from the West corner of the competition (south) pool as indicated on the pool diagram above. There is a bulkhead entry point along the width of the pool. Height 0.33 m Width 0.9 m. There will be a curtain between the teach pool and the bulkhead. The width of the walkway between the curtain and the bulkhead is 1.5m. 8
