2 2 Welcome Welcome the 2016 Dive Ontario John Dickinson Spring Provincial Championships! The Ebicoke Diving Club and Dive Ontario are pleased be hosting the 2016 Spring Provincials at the Ebicoke Olympium, in Ebicoke, Ontario. The Spring Provincials will be our second Ontario sanctioned National qualifying meet of the 2016 season as well as a Grand Prix Qualifier. 4 Meet Information Open Event Format: and Platform Events There will be a preliminary and final with the p 12 divers in the Preliminary advancing the Final. For each segment of the competition, the divers score will start at 0 points. 4 Dive Sheets: All dive sheets are due 24 hours prior the event using the Canadian Dive Sheet Generar (available online through Integrated Sport Systems Dive sheets submitted after these times will be subject a $25 late dive sheet fee (as per Diving Canada rulebook). No new dive sheets will be accepted within one hour of the posted start time of the event. Changes the dive sheets must be submitted a minimum of 1 hour prior the events posted started time. The FINA & Diving Plongeon Canada rules shall be the official rules for Open and Age Group events. If there are any inconsistencies between this package and the Rule Book, the Rule Book shall prevail. 5 Rules 5 Ontario Provincial Rules for Open Events: 1 Metre 3 Metre Platform Women s Men s Additional Requirements: x01 and x02 dives are not allowed on 1m or, where x denotes any group x02 dives are not allowed in any Open Platform Event x01 dives shall be performed from the 10m platform ONLY Schedule: A draft event schedule is included in this Meet Package. A revised schedule will be provided after the registration deadline. Events will have 30 minutes warm-up prior the start of the event. National Rules All dives with DD limit (compulsories must be head first). Exception: Group C and D divers allowed foot-first dives on twist compulsory only. Special DD s for Group C and D only: 201C and 201B 1m=1.5 =1.7 5m= = C and 301B 1m=1.6 = 1.8 5m= =1.9 Special DD for all Age Groups: 404C 5m=2.4 In the case of any discrepancy between these rules and the rules listed in the 2014 Diving Plongeon Canada Rulebook, the Diving Plongeon Canada Rulebook shall prevail. 5

6 National Rules 6 Compulsories (Dives with Limited DD) Must be head first Exception Group C and Group D divers will be allowed feet-first entries on twisting compulsory only In Group C and D, the back and reverse dives will be only performed in tuck and/or pike position Forward Spinning Dives Refers somersaulting dives from Group 1 and 4 Back Spinning Dives Refers somersaulting dives from Group 2, Group 3, Group 62x and Group 63x A minimum of two (2) somersaults required for 62x and 63x be considered as back spinning All back spinning dives must be performed in a tuck or pike position Twisting Dives Group 1 and 4 twisting dives must have a minimum of one (1) somersault and one (1) twist and the amount of twists must be an even number. (examples: 5132D, 5154D, 5422D Group 2 and 3 twisting dives must have a minimum of one (1) somersault and ½ twist and the amount of twists must be an odd number. (examples: 5221D, 5333D, 5255D) Rules: (as per the Diving Plongeon Canada Rulebook ) The events for each age group, including the tal number of dives be performed, the number of dives be performed with an aggregate Degree of Difficulty limit, that aggregate Degree of Difficulty (DD) limit, and the number of dives be performed without limit, are as follows: 6
