1 Waterborn Swimming Club Invites you to Participate In The Waterborn Invitational : LC Gala SSA Affiliated Swimmers and Masters Swimmers Ellis Park : 10 & 11 October 2015 (Sanctioned by CGA) Times will count towards the CGA / SSA Database Waterborn Swimming Club cordially invites you to participate in the above event. The Gala will be held at the Ellis Park Facility Minimum Entry Requirement : Level 2 Qualifier Heated Outdoor 50m Pool (LCM) 8 lane format 2 sessions on Saturday, 10 th October (a.m. & p.m.) 2 sessions on Sunday, 11 th October (a.m. & p.m.) Programme of events as detailed in the attached swimming programme All events on offer (Women 800m Free, Men 1500m Free, 400IM & 200m Fly Fastest 8 entries) Maximum of 6 events (Maximum of 2 events per session). Award to the top 3 of each event and in each age category Official prizegiving at the end of the gala (Victrix & Victor Ludorum per age group) Club Awards, Coaches Awards Catering available at the facility Various Vendors will be located on the premises Music & Rib Fest after the gala on Saturday (advance booking & payment) The hosting of swimmers & coaches with Waterborn families available on application (Subject to availability). 3 CONDITIONS OF ENTRY 1. This event is sanctioned by CGA (Central Gauteng Aquatics) 2. All times will count towards the provincial and SSA database 3. Minimum Entry Requirement : Level 2 Qualifier 4. The event is open to all SSA Affiliated swimmers and Masters Swimmers 5. Morning Session Start Time : 09h00 6. Afternoon session start time : 14h00 7. All events will be swum as timed finals in an 8 Lane format : LC Gala 8. The fastest 8 entries will be accepted for the 800m freestyle (girls only) 400IM 1500m freestyle (boys only). 200m Fly 9. Age will be as on day 1 of the competition (10 th October 2015) 10. For individual events, the age categories are: Girls : 11 years & Under, years, 14 years and over, Masters Boys : 12 years & Under, years, 15 years and over, Masters 11. Points Individual Events 1 st 2 nd 3 rd 4 th 5 th 6 th 7 th 8 th Swimmers must have times on the SSA database for the events they wish to enter. NT s will not be accepted. 13. Entry times are from 1 st December The ONE START RULE will apply 15. NO LATE ENTRIES will be accepted. NO ENTRIES ON THE DAY OF THE GALA. 16. R50.00 registration fee per swimmer & R20.00 per individual event. 17. All scratching s must be done 30 minutes prior to the start of the session in which these events will take place. 18. Any appeal to the Referee should be done in writing and submitted (together with a non-refundable R150 fee) at the recording office within 30 minutes after the results have been announced. 19. The Referee s decision will be final. 20. Only TEAM MANAGERS will be allowed in the office. No swimmers. No parents 21. Team Manager Meeting 07h45 : Saturday, 10 th October Awards will be granted to the swimmers placed 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each age category in each event, male and female. The 800m Free (W), 1500m Free (M), 400IM and 200m Fly will be Open events and carry an award for the top three in the Open category. Awards immediately after the event. 23. Only the top two swimmers from each club will score points in each age category. 24. The CGA rules governing Warm-ups and Galas- general will apply, except those relating to level of qualification. 25. Only swimmers registered with SSA may compete. Swimmers are to be registered with SSA a minimum of 14 days before the start of the competition. 26. Entry is open to swimmers from out of province, provided that clearance is received with the entries, in accordance with the CGA gala entry procedure. 27. All entries with proof of payment to be ed to Lynn Szurdoki lynnszurdoki@hotmail.co.za All entries are to be submitted: a) In a commlink file b) Accompanied by a Word/Pdf file of entries with proof of time d) Accompanied by proof of payment based on the entry fee report 28. Waterborn will confirm team entries back to each club by no later than Tuesday, 6 th October.

4 PRIZES Club Awards: Prize money will be awarded to the Clubs in the first three positions as follows: 1st R3,000 2nd R1,500 3rd R1,000 Highest FINA Points in a Race R1,000 to the swimmer with the highest FINA Points for one swim (Male & Female) & R500 to the coach. The swimmer must participate in 6 events to be eligible to win. Senior Victor & Victrix Ludorum R1,000 to the top Senior Male & R1,000 to the top senior female Individual Awards Victor / Victrix Ludorum All age groups. Top Male and Female Masters Swimmer. Awards Will be awarded for the first three places in all the Individual finals. TECHNICAL OFFICIALS Clubs are requested to provide Technical Officials for each session. Please provide a list of the names of registered timekeepers, judges, referees etc. who would be available to assist at the gala. Officials names, preferred sessions are to be sent to Stella Young (Waterborn Officials Administrator) stella@mobileatwork.co.za by no later than Friday, 2 nd October Officials contact details ( and Cell number) to be included. For clubs outside of CGA, the following is required: 1 5 swimmers, 1 official (1 judge or 1 timekeeper) PER SESSION. 5 and over swimmers 2 officials (1 judge and 1 timekeeper) PER SESSION. ENTRY PROCEDURE Closing date for entries is 25 th September 2015 to be sent to Lynn Szurdoki together with proof of payment and clearance letter. No Clearance and / or payment, No entry. R50.00 registration fee per swimmer & R20.00 per individual event.
