1 MEMO TO: Meet Managers, Presidents and Head Coaches FROM: John Vadeika, Executive/Technical Director DATE: Friday May 18th, 2012 AMENDED MAY 27, 2012 SUBJECT: 2013 Winter & Summer Festival Club Participation Agreement All clubs must complete and return the 2013 Winter & Summer Club Participation Agreements by July 15 th, 2012 indicating their agreement to participate or decline their participation. These agreements will also be included in the Club Affiliation process in August The 2013 Swim Ontario Winter and Summer Festivals will be hosted in a Short Course, Timed Final format. There are two Winter Festivals hosted February 23 rd and 24th, 2013 and two Summer Festivals hosted June 1 st and 2 nd, 2013 (Please see meet packages). The hosts & locations for the 2013 Winter Festivals are: North York Aquatic Club (NYAC) UofT Harbord Pool, Toronto London Aquatic Club (LAC) Canada Games Pool, London The hosts & locations for the 2013 Summer Festivals are: Oakville Aquatic Club (OAK) UofT Harbord Pool, Toronto Sudbury Laurentian Swim Club (SLSC) Dr. Jeno Tehanyi Pool, Sudbury Please be aware of the following: 1) Alliances/Associations will not be permitted to compete at the Swim Ontario Festival Competitions. 2) Swim Ontario Splash Fee applies to the Swim Ontario Winter and Summer Festivals and is payable to Swim Ontario. 3) Please note as per the 2012/2013 Swim Ontario Winter and Summer Festival Packages Location Placement: Swim Ontario reserves the right to make changes in team movement to balance location attendance.
2 4) Festival Location Placement Rational for 2013 Season: WINTER FESTIVAL LOCATION PLACEMENT: The afternoon sessions of the 2012 Junior Provincial Championships will be ranked. The odd ranked clubs will be assigned to compete at the Winter Festival hosted by LAC in London at the Canada Games Pool. The even ranked clubs will be assigned to compete at the Winter Festival hosted by NYAC in Toronto at the UofT Harbord Pool. All Swim Ontario Registered Clubs who did not compete at the 2012 Junior Provincials will be ranked largest to smallest clubs. All odd ranked clubs will be assigned to compete at the Winter Festival hosted by LAC in London at the Canada Games Pool. All even ranked clubs will be assigned to compete at the Winter Festival hosted by NYAC in Toronto at the UofT Harbord Pool. SUMMER FESTIVAL LOCATION PLACEMENT: The afternoon sessions of the 2012 Junior Provincial Championships will be ranked. The odd ranked clubs will be assigned to compete at the Summer Festival hosted by SLSC in Sudbury at the Dr. Jeno Teyhani Pool. The even ranked clubs will be assigned to compete at the Summer Festival hosted by OAK in Toronto at the UofT Harbord Pool. All Swim Ontario Registered Clubs who did not compete at the 2012 Junior Provincials will be ranked largest to smallest clubs. All odd ranked clubs will be assigned to compete at the Summer Festival hosted by SLSC in Sudbury at the Dr. Jeno Teyhani Pool. All even ranked clubs will be assigned to compete at the Summer Festival hosted by OAK in Toronto at the UofT Harbord Pool. 5) All Swim Ontario registered clubs must complete the attached form and return it to Swim Ontario as on or before July 15 th, These agreement forms will also be part of the Club Affiliation Check List. Failure to communicate by the deadline WILL jeopardize your club s participation and/or location placement. 6) For whatever reason, any team deciding not to attend after having agreed to participate, will be assessed a "no show" fee of $ (amended May 27 th, 2012) Teams failing to pay this penalty by March 15, 2013 for the Winter Festivals and June 30 th, 2013 for the Summer Festivals will be banned from participating in provincial programmes until the penalty fee has been paid. 7) Clubs that initially decline participation in the 2013 Swim Ontario Festivals and wish to participate will have to request inclusion.
