The weather couldn t have been nicer and the view from the tennis courts with the snowcapped mountains in the background, palm trees in front, sunshine and 80F degree. Some of us went to watch close-up tennis at the Pacific Life Open in Indian Wells, where it was possible to walk on all the courts and watch the top women and men players warm-up, practice or compete. 3 MIRACLE LAMP ELECTROMAGNETIC Sciatica, Tendonitis, Arthritis got you down? From the age old wisdom of the Orient. Eases pain, promotes healing, enhances immunity system. Used by millions. It s worked for me!!! For more info, nsquare214@aol.com Letter to the Editor Dear Editor, My girlfriend says I should hit the tennis ball hard. But I am a man of the 60's, opposed to violence, who believes that hitting only begets more hitting. As such, I prefer to gently caress the ball, lovingly returning it to my opponent. Tennis is, after all, a gentleman's game. My girlfriend says if I am such a man of peace, she will no longer team up with me. How do I resolve this dilemma? - A bereft tennis player Dear Bereft, Since I always hit the ball as hard as I can, I admit I m having a tough time with your situation! As I see it, you have two options: 1. Hit the ball really hard, but aim for the side fence to ensure that you don t injure anyone - your girlfriend will assume that you re trying your best and tell you to stick to what you know, and switch to your old game. 2. Consider badminton as a backup activity with her :-) - SMTC Editor 1 Hewitt, Lleyton Agassi, Andre Ferrero, Juan Carlos Federer, Roger Moya, Carlos Roddick, Andy Safin, Marat Novak, Jiri Costa, Albert Nalbandian, David Grosjean, Sebastien Schuettler, Rainer Srichaphan, Paradorn Schalken, Sjeng Kuerten, Gustavo Corretja, Alex Canas, Guillermo Haas, Tommy Gaudio, Gaston Henman, Tim El Aynaoui, Younes Gonzalez, Fernando Sampras, Pete Blake, James Robredo, Tommy Youzhny, Mikhail Kafelnikov, Yevgeny Malisse, Xavier Coria, Guillermo Pavel, Andrei Rios, Marcelo Ferreira, Wayne Chela, Juan Ignacio Mirnyi, Max Nieminen, Jarkko Zabaleta, Mariano Mathieu, Paul-Henri Calleri, Agustin Lapentti, Nicolas Gambill, Jan-Michael Dent, Taylor Clement, Arnaud Spadea, Vincent Mantilla, Felix Sanchez, David Acasuso, Jose Arthurs, Wayne Kucera, Karol Santoro, Fabrice Stepanek, Radek 737 Top 50 Pro Rankings (as of March 17) MEN - ATP WOMEN - WTA 1 Williams, Serena Williams, Venus Clijsters, Kim Henin-Hardenne, Justine Capriati, Jennifer Davenport, Lindsay Mauresmo, Amelie Hantuchova, Daniela Dokic, Jelena Rubin, Chanda Myskina, Anastasia Seles, Monica Schnyder, Patty Maleeva, Magdalena Daniilidou, Eleni Bovina, Elena Coetzer, Amanda Sugiyama, Ai Dementieva, Elena Pistolesi, Anna Farina Elia, Silvia Shaughnessy, Meghann Dechy, Nathalie Panova, Tatiana Raymond, Lisa Martinez, Conchita Stevenson, Alexandra Fernandez, Clarisa Suarez, Paola Likhovtseva, Elena Majoli, Iva Zvonareva, Vera Tanasugarn, Tamarine Granville, Laura Schiavone, Francesca Mikaelian, Marie-Gaianeh Kuznetsova, Svetlana Kremer, Anne Srebotnik, Katarina Frazier, Amy Ruano Pascual, Virginia Serna, Magui Chladkova, Denisa Pierce, Mary Tulyaganova, Iroda Casanova, Myriam Husarova, Janette Bedanova, Daja Matevzic, Maja Schett, Barbara
