THE 52ND ANNUAL IHSAA BASEBALL STATE FINALS June 15-16, 2018 Victory Field Indianapolis, Ind. PARKING The Victory Field lot to the west of the stadium is the nearest op on and requires a $5 parking fee. If full, there are several lots available within short walking distance of Victory Field. The State Garage, opposite the centerfield entrance on the northeast corner of Maryland and West streets along with the underground garage northwest of the stadium for the NCAA, Indiana State Museum and White River State Park. GATES OPEN Gates open at one hour prior to the first game each day (6:30 pm on Friday and 10 am on Saturday. Sco will be honored in a special ceremony at this weekend s state finals. Each year, the Indiana High School Athle c Associa on, in coopera on with the Na- onal Federa on of Interscholas c Officials Associa- on, recognizes and honors an outstanding official in each of 11 sports during the school year. Sco was selected for this honor by a commi ee represen ng the Indiana officials associa ons. He has officiated 24 sec onals, 16 regionals, 11 semi-states, and 7 state finals during his 38 years as a licensed baseball official. Sco is also licensed in football. He has also umpired games for the south Bend Silver Hawks/Cubs, IHSBCA All-Star games, and the Na onal Chris an College Tournament. He is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame in mathema cs, and has his Master of Arts in Math Educa on from Ball State. Currently, Sco is an administrator and instructor at the University of Notre Dame and has been there for 26 years. In addi on to his involvement in high school athle cs, Sco volunteers within his community and is an ac ve member at church, and led the Stakeholder Commi ee for South Bend Community Schools Technology Ini a ve. Media Creden als: The IHSAA State Finals Media Creden al issued previously this year will allow for admission. To apply, please your request (with name of individual) as soon as possible to IHSAA Sports Informa on Director Jason Wille at requests MUST originate from a recognized business account; s from personal accounts (ie: yahoo.com, aol.com, etc.) will not be accepted. The applica on deadline is Thursday, June 14, at 4 pm ET / 3 pm CT. Media Will-Call: Approved requests will be available for pickup at media will-call located inside the administra ve entrance to the right of the cket windows on the stadium s west side. Please have iden fica on available to claim your creden als. Will-call will open on Friday at 5:30 pm ET and on Saturday at 9 am ET. The Indianapolis Indians provide complimentary wireless internet access within the press box. A password which is posted in the press area is needed for access. Photography: Photographers may take up posi ons in the outfield por on of each dugout for field level shots. At no me during the game should photographers be shoo ng from the playing field itself. Post-Game Interviews: IHSAA Champions Network personnel and photographers receive priority but interviews with coaches and players may be conducted on the field following the conclusion of the awards ceremonies. The 2000 Wolves team reached the Class 2A state semifinals when four teams advanced to the state finals in each classifica on. Team returned seven starters from last year s 13-9 squad. Raiders have won seven straight games to reach the championship game including a 5-1 victory over #8 Linton-Stockton in the sec onal semifinals on May 28. Southridge has outscored its six tournament foes 62-6 so far. Team returned four starters from last season s 9-13 team. Champions of the Pocket Athle c Conference with a 7-1 record this season. Raiders lost a 2-1 decision to 3A state finalist Silver Creek on April 27. Head coach Gene Ma ngly is in his first season leading the Raiders having spent the last seven seasons as an assistant and four years before that as a volunteer assistant with the team. 7 CLASS 3A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP NOTABLES ANDREAN FIGHTING 59ERS (30-6) IHSBCA Coaches Poll: #T1 Top-ranked Andrean playing for sixth baseball state championship this weekend. Niners are 5-1 in previous tle games and looking for their third crown in five seasons (2014, 2015). School looking for second state tle this school year a er volleyball team captured the 2A crown last Nov. 4 in Muncie. With a victory, they would become one of just three teams with six or more baseball tles joining LaPorte (8) and Lafaye e Central Catholic (7). Team has outscored its six tournament opponents by a 67-8 count. Team returned four starters from last year s 26-8 sec onal tle team and enter the state championship game on an eightgame winning streak. Andrean turned away #4 South Bend St. Joseph 2-1 in its closest tournament game so far winning the regional crown. Champions of the Northwest Crossroads Conference with a 9-1 record this season. Defeated 2A state finalist Boone Grove 2-0 on April 20. Head coach Dave Pishkur is in his 39th season in charge of the Andrean program with 977 victories to his credit - second-most in state history (1,010 by LaPorte s Ken Schreiber).
