1 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Media Contact: Susan Zavala Office Manager Falmouth Chamber of Commerce (508) FALMOUTH CHRISTMAS PARADE LINE UP, ROAD CLOSINGS & WEATHER CONTINGENCY PLAN NOVEMBER 30, 2015, FALMOUTH, MA - The Falmouth Chamber of Commerce 52 nd Annual Christmas Parade will step off on Sunday December 6, 2015, from the intersection of Dillingham Avenue and Davis Straits (Main Street) at 12:00 noon and travel along Main Street (28N) to the Village Green. Parking Restrictions: Parking downtown on Main Street will be prohibited on Sunday, December 6, 2015 beginning at 8:00 am until the parade concludes at approximately 2:30 pm. Dillingham Avenue Parade staging will begin at 8:30 am on Dillingham Avenue (enter from Gifford Street only). Dillingham Avenue will be closed to traffic from 8am till approximately 1:30 pm. Parade participants should arrive at Gus Canty Recreation Center, 790 Main Street between 8:30-10:30 am. You will then walk around the Rec Center to Dillingham Avenue, where you will be directed to your place in the parade. The parking lot at Gus Canty will be reserved for buses. There will be parking available, to parade participants only, at the Island Queen lot on Scranton Avenue. We ask that you car pool whenever possible. Children will be allowed to wait in the Gus Canty Rec. Center, but must be accompanied by an adult from their group. Parade floats and moving vehicles should arrive at Dillingham Avenue, from Gifford Street only, between 8:30-10:30 am. You will then be directed to your place in the parade on Dillingham Avenue. There will be no entry onto Dillingham Avenue from Davis Straits, all parade participants must enter from Gifford Street. Road Closings: Beginning at 11:30 am, the following town roads will be closed to traffic until the parade concludes: Davis Straits between the traffic lights at Jones Road and Friendly s Restaurant Main Street between Friendly s Restaurant and the Village Green
