1 Cary Jaycees 2014 Annual Christmas Parade Lineup and Parade Day Instructions We are looking forward to seeing you on Saturday, December 13, 2014 for the Cary Jaycees 35th Annual Christmas Parade. Here are your instructions for the day. Where to Meet: Please have your group meet at 1:00 p.m. in the following location: Floats (yellow): All Floats (including the trucks towing them) and riders meet at Martin Architectural 511 East Chatham Street. Walkers (blue): Walkers meet at Urban Park E. Chatham Street Vehicles (green): Line up on E. Cedar Street If you have a float or vehicle with walkers, your group will be lined up separately. However, when you go to start the parade, our parade director will bring your float and walkers back together. Please see the attached document to find your line up number. We have also enclosed a color-coded card(s) indicating your number for your group. Please have your group leader bring the card(s) on parade day. Note: floats and vehicles are to post their card(s) in their car/truck window(s). There will be signs in the ground with your number to tell you where to go. Cary Jaycees will be available to help you find the right line up placement. Route and Parade Specifics: There is no parking along the parade route and the streets will be closed around 12:45 p.m. Carpooling is recommended as spaces are very limited. The best parking location is at Town Hall on Wilkinson Drive, a 486 space-parking garage. We have attached a map of other parking options, however, those will fill up quickly and will be closed until the end of the parade. Please let all families know they may not drop off unsupervised children. The parade starts at promptly at 2:00 p.m at the corner of Ward and E. Chatham Street. The parade then heads towards downtown on Chatham, taking a left on South Academy Street ending at Cary Arts Center (the pickup point). If you are riding a sponsored, professional float, they will stop for the group to quickly unload at Cary Arts Center. We will have portable toilets in Urban Park. We have also enclosed a parade day map.

2 Weather: Check the forecast before coming to the parade. Dress warmly in layers. The parade will operate rain or shine. In the unlikely event the parade is canceled, the Jaycees would alert the local media and call the point-of-contact listed on the parade entry for each organization. 6 PARKING The Arts Center ( ) offers a number of parking options for attendees of your event. Parking is available along Academy St. and Faculty Drive as well as in the lots indicated below. All parking is free. Cary Elementary Lot Behind Cary Arts Center. Open to patrons after 4 p.m. Faculty Drive Lot Behind Cary Elem. Always open. Arts Center Lot Beside the Center. Always open. Cary Public Library Lot Behind Cary Public Library. Open to patrons after library hours: After 8 p.m. Mon.-Thurs., after 6 p.m. Fri., after 5 pm. Sat., and all day Sun. Walker St. Lot Located off Walker St. Always open. United Methodist Lot Located at the corner of Waldo and Walker streets. Open to patrons except Sun. mornings. and Wed. evenings.
