10 o Sidewalks required: Multi-family or nonresidential development when property is: within Urban Services District (USD) on a street in the Major and Collector Street Plan (MCSP) and/or within 1/4 mile of a center designated in the General Plan o Requires sidewalks for multifamily and nonresidential development, based on new construction, percentage value of renovation, percentage of expansion, percentage of value of expansion. One or two-family residential development when property is: within the Urban Zoning Overlay (UZO) on a street within the MCSP in the Urban Services District and/or within a 1/4 mile of a center designated in the General Plan o Includes right of way dedication for additions and expansions over 25% of building value. Grading applies to abutting sidewalks and planned sidewalks in Priority Sidewalk Network.

12 o Sidewalks must be built (in-lieu contribution not available): replacement or repair of existing sidewalk extension of sidewalk proposed for adjacent development when existing sidewalks are present on the same block face within the UZO (multi-family/nonresidential) along a street in the MCSP (multi-family/nonresidential) o In-lieu contribution available: Allows an exception for a project that is funded and scheduled. In-lieu contribution calculated July 1 each year.

13 Capital Improvements Budget and Capital Spending Plan

14 Other relevant sidewalk items include: Required right-of-way must be dedicated with the issuance of the building permit. This is the only requirement for single-family or two-family renovation over 25% value or addition. Installation or in-lieu contribution is not required. Grading of improvements within the right-of-way for properties that abut existing sidewalks and planned sidewalks identified in the Priority Sidewalk Network. Metro Planning must make a recommendation on sidewalk variances to the Board of Zoning Appeals and whether there are potential alternative designs that could result in installation of public sidewalk. Obstructions are prohibited within the required pedestrian travelway, but may be located within a grass strip or frontage zone. Existing obstructions shall be relocated.
