15 Youth Program U8- U10 Excellence is the result of caring more than others think is wise, risking more than others think is safe, dreaming more than others think is practical, and expecting more than others think is possible. Author unknown. Working with the young players is not only an awesome responsibility, but it is a huge challenge as well. Help our players build a love and passion for the game Introduce different ac:vi:es where skill building takes place, but do not over emphasize Many of these training ac:vi:es should be 1 player to 1 ball Incorporate ball mastery ac:vi:es, and intermix with fun games Now, players need to learn how to keep possession and learn how to pass the ball around. Passing is the soul of soccer. Incorporate different possession and keep a way games into your training Let players play a ton during training in 3v3, 4v4, or 5v5 games While playing, encourage our players to run with the ball, to dribble, and to try moves We want our players to enjoy themselves, to try to do the right things, and not be afraid to fail All players should play a ton and play different posi:ons including goalkeeper. Play 6v6 In House and 8v8 at U10 Winning the game is not important, how the players play and compete is important!
