2 From the Editor Patte Plount We have one more newsletter after this one which will not have a calendar but a year in review complete with pictures. I would like to wish everyone a Happy Easter and hope that you will all be attending the Highland Games and help at the booth that we have in Clan Village. It has been encouraging to see the membership come out and help at the hall with everything from the decorations, and general clean up to setting up the hall for the many special events we have had Tartan Reception Our Tartan Reception will be held on Tuesday April 3rd. Doors open promptly at 6 PM. This is a catered event by Marguerite s Café located next to the Blue Jays Field on Douglas in Dunedin. This is our last dinner of the season, tickets are $25.00 for members and $30.00 for non-members. Please contact Diane Burke for tickets. Tribute to Danny and Flora The Tribute to Danny and Flora was a great event. Held at the SAS, the Chairman was Maureen McGuire, assisted by Betty Kelly. Many members got together at the McGuires to help plan and make this event special for Danny and Flora. We would like to thank one and all for participating, food, and any and all help that made this a banner event and a tribute to them both, that we are sure they will this year. Sometimes it is very difficult to fill the pages of a newsletter, however this year we have had so many wonderful events it has not left much space for some of the articles I have had submitted from the membership. Please rest assured, even though they have not been used currently, that does not mean I do not use them on social media. The SAS celebrates our Scottish Heritage by supporting all of the Scottish Societies within Dunedin in whatever way we can, either by membership, participation or both. It is encouraging to see us all working together to keep the Scottish Please buy a ticket or two Tartan Reception We will be selling tickets for the Basket of Cheer for the Highland Games through April 7th at all events. Remember. Danny and Allan Stewart both MC d the event, with Danny thanking Allan for his help turning the batton to Allan who has been our MC since the end of last year. Norm Campbell donated his time, to play. We had all the Regalia of our traditional Ceilidh from a bygone era, and the food was unbelievable, everything from Sandwiches to meatballs, Salad and all kinds of sweets. The cake, was Pina Colada, one spiked with Coconut Rum, the other Virgin especially made for them. Heritage alive and well within the City of Dunedin. Everything from s from Joan McHale that some of our members would be interested in and place on the Calendar, Ray Southworth and Amber Caldwell, have been highly visible on Facebook as are Ed and Marie Mars & have continued to be participants/helpers with the Tea and the St. Pat s. John Currie, came out to set up our Karoke Machine and became a life member at the same time. Of course our MC/Handyman Allan Stewart for all his help this year in keeping the hall running, there are more, but I ll leave the rest to Diane. Patte Historical Scottish Hall Well, it has finally come to pass. Our SAS Scottish Hall has finally been designated as a Historical Building by the State of Florida and the City of Dunedin. Thanks to the three year effort of Diane Burke, also Harvey Smith during the time he served on our Board of Directors we are now a historic staple within the city and are eligible for grants to help sustain and support the historic value of our building. Thank you Danny and Flora. Many happy returns. Page 2 The Rampant Line

As always we support the arts in our city and a donation was made to them for coming out and dancing for us. Kiss me I m pretending to be Irish, even if not all of us are decedents of the Irish, we did a good job of celebrating.
