2 Editorial: Meeting location to cruise to WARWICK for the 41st National Chevrolet Festival will be confirmed at the 5th Sept. club meeting but will most likely be at Amberley near the service station on the Cunningham Hway at 8:30am on 22nd September. Details will be ed and on the front page of next months newsletter. All member clubs of QHRP have been asked to put forward names for the QHRP committee. This includes of course, our club. Presidents Report: All is set for the 41st National Chevrolet Festival in Warwick. Thanks to everyone who has helped to get this event running and we wish everybody a safe journey to and from Warwick, the Rose City - and Horsepower Capital of SE Queensland. Plenty of activities to keep all participants happy and lots of places to visit around the Southern Downs Regional Council area in your favourite Chevy. Volunteers required on 14th and 15th OCTOBER for Shannons Rod and Custom Show (Fomerly Harrigans Rod and Custom Show). Shannons have come on board as Naming Rights Sponsor with a great incentive to enter your car early - a chance to WIN a total $1000 cash to be spent at OZ RODS, the Hot Rod and Street Machine Specialists. Treasurers Report: Balance brought forward of $17, Total expenses were $ Total income was$2, New Balance of $19, This was read and moved by Colleen Yule and seconded by Glennis Bone and passed unanimously. General Business: Popup show at Auto Barn Logan City has been confirmed for February 17 th Ian Turner advised our next big event will be All American Day on 28 th January This will be arranged after the Nationals in Warwick. Harrigans Rod and Custom Show: It is a charity event which Shannons have now become Naming Rights sponsor with on going annual support, held Sunday 15 th October Entry can be downloaded from Facebook page. 2 x $500 prizes for early bird entry. $10,000 in prizes and trophies. This is their 10 th year with over $45,000 from the past 9 years donated to various charities plus $35,000 in Trophies & prizes. Helpers are urgently needed for the Saturday 14 th Oct. Mark-out etc and Sunday 15 th Oct. parking and gates etc. If you can possibly spare even a couple of hours please contact Elton Walker on or Peter Guthrie on In 2016 there were nearly 400 cars entered. National Chev Fest 22nd - 25th September vehicles entered so far. Bank account balance of $22, as at 28/7/2017. A small group of the Committee went to Warwick to finalise events etc. Police have given permission for roads to be blocked off. Ad. in local newspaper. Morgan Park has been confirmed and local shops visited. It was a very productive couple of days and at this stage things are moving along well. 3 Sashes are need for the Festival Queen, Princess & Prince. Teresa McCoombes suggested Adrianne contact Warwick Show Ribbons because they do a lot of that work for various events held in Warwick. Mike Robertson may not be to do the photography and if this is the case Teresa has kindly offered along with Elton to fill the role. They will take photos of all cars entered and so they can be displayed at the Presentation dinner. The winning cars will be displayed when announced to receive their trophy. QHMC Report Nil. QHRP Nil Club Runs: Although there was heavy traffic at Caboolture it was a good lunch at Landsborough Hotel and it was a long trip home for Southsiders. August run on SATURDAY 19 th to Advancetown. Northsiders will leave Club rooms at 10.00am and Southsiders to meet at United Servo 254 Loganlea Rd, Loganlea. Raffle winners: No Raffle. Meeting closed at 8.20pm.
