Martinez each homered and had two hits in the loss. Austin Jackson also added two hits with a RBI. PRICE ACQUIRED FROM TAMPA BAY: The Tigers announced yesterday that the club has acquired lefthanded pitcher David Price from the Tampa Bay Rays in exchange for lefthanded pitcher Drew Smyly, outfielder Austin Jackson and infielder Willy Adames. Price, 28, has compiled an 11-8 record, a 3.11 ERA (170.2IP/59ER) and 189 strikeouts in 23 starts with the Rays this season. Opponents are hitting.238 (156x655) against him this season, while he has issued 23 walks. Price currently leads the American League with 189 strikeouts and innings pitched, while he is third with an 8.22 SO/BB ratio, fifth with 9.97 strikeouts per nine innings pitched and tied for sixth with 11 wins. Price was selected to the 2014 American League All-Star Team, marking his fourth career selection. ROSTER UPDATE: The Tigers have announced the following roster moves: - Following yesterday s game, the Tigers optioned the contract of lefthanded pitcher Ian Krol to Triple A Toledo. - The Tigers recalled the injury rehab assignment of lefthanded pitcher Patrick McCoy and activated him from the disabled list. McCoy made four rehab assignments with Triple A Toledo and had a 6.75 ERA (5.1IP/4ER) with six hits allowed and five strikeouts. He had been sidelined since July 6 with a pulled right hamstring. - The Tigers purchased the contract of outfielder Ezequiel Carrera from Triple A Toledo.
