FARMER RECALLED FROM TRIPLE A TOLEDO, VERHAGEN OPTIONED: The Tigers today have recalled righthanded pitcher Buck Farmer from Triple A Toledo. Farmer, who is in his third s nt with the Tigers this season, has started five games with Toledo and has a 0-2 record with a 3.71 ERA (17.0IP/7ER) and 13 strikeouts. In a corresponding move, the Tigers op oned righthanded pitcher Drew VerHagen to Triple A Toledo following yesterday's game. CABRERA, MAYBIN NAMED AL CO-PLAYERS OF THE WEEK: Miguel Cabrera and Cameron Maybin have been named the American League Co-Players of the Week. Cabrera hit.500 (11x22) with six runs scored, one triple, three home runs and six RBI during the week, while Maybin ba ed.600 (12x20) with five runs scored, one home run, five RBI and four stolen bases. It marks Cabrera's 14th career Player of the Week honor, while it is Maybin's second career Player of the Week award. It also marks the second me this season that a Tigers player has been named the AL Player of the Week as Victor Mar nez received the award for the week ending May 1. KINSLER EXTENDS HITTING STREAK TO 10 GAMES: Ian Kinsler went 1x5 with a run scored in yesterday's game to extend his hi ng streak to 10 games. It marks the second me this season that Kinsler has had a 10-game hi ng streak. Over his last 10 games, Kinsler is ba ng.390 (16x41) with 13 runs scored, three doubles, four home runs and seven RBI. Kinsler's 10- game streak is ed for the fourth-longest ac ve hi ng streak in the American League. ELIAS SAYS: Miguel Cabrera went 3x3 with a run scored, a home run and two RBI in yesterday's game. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, It marked the 19th me in his career that he has gone 3x3 or be er with a homer, tying Willie Mays and Babe Ruth for the fi h-most such games in the modern era (since 1900). DETROIT TIGERS FOUNDATION TO PRESENT $300,000 GIFT TO DETROIT PAL'S KIDS AT THE CORNER CAPACITY CAMPAIGN: The Detroit Tigers Founda on, an affiliate of Ilitch Chari es, and official charity of the Detroit Tigers, will present a gi of $300,000 to Detroit PAL during an on-field, pregame ceremony to support PAL's Kids at the Corner capacity campaign prior to tonight's game vs. Philadelphia. The grant is the largest single gi ever made by the Detroit Tigers Founda on and will support PAL's new mul -sports youth complex and headquarters at the corner of Michigan and Trumbull. The complex, which will allow PAL to expand its programming to serve more Detroit children, will also be used to host home games played in the Tiny Tigers t-ball program and Detroit Tigers Hometown Championship, two signature youth baseball programs also funded by the Detroit Tigers Founda on.
