Miguel Cabrera hit his 14th home run of the season and went 3x4 with three runs scored and a RBI in the win, while J.D. Martinez also homered, his 12th of the season, and finished the game 2x4 with a run scored and three RBI. Alfredo Simon started for Detroit and earned his seventh win of the season, throwing 5.0 shutout innings with three hits allowed, one walk and five strikeouts. The Tigers continue their seven-game homestand tonight as they begin a two-game Interleague series vs. Cincinnati. Following the series vs. the Reds, the Tigers hit the road for an eightgame trip, which includes two games at Cincinnati, three games at New York and three games at Cleveland. RONDON S INJURY REHAB ASSIGNMENT RECALLED, OPTIONED TO TRIPLE A: The Tigers announced today that they have recalled the injury rehabilitation assignment of Bruce Rondon from Triple A Toledo, reinstated him from the 15-day disabled list and optioned his contract to Toledo. Rondon made nine injury rehab outings with the Mud Hens and had a 1-2 record with a ERA (8.2IP/10ER), 15 hits allowed, five walks and nine strikeouts. Rondon has been sidelined since April 1 with bicipital tendinitis. MULTI-HIT MIGGY: Miguel Cabrera picked up his 20th multi-hit game of the season in yesterday s game, going 3x4 with three runs scored, a home run and a RBI. Cabrera s multi-hit performance yesterday was the 406th of his Tigers career, breaking a tie with Harvey Kuenn for 11th place in franchise history. The game was also Cabrera s 119th three-hit game with Detroit. He is eight three-hit games away from tying Hank Greenberg for ninth in club history with 127 three-hit games. RAJAI NEARING 1,000 GAMES PLAYED: Rajai Davis enters tonight s game with 999 games played in his major league career. The outing was the 155th of his career and he joined Bob Feller as one of just two pitchers since at least 1916 to record five complete games allowing one hit-or-fewer in the first 155 games of their major league career. Feller also posted one no-hitter and four one-hitters during that span, recording his fifth with a one-hitter in the 139th game of his career on July 12, 1940 at Shibe Park against the Philadelphia Athletics. HISTORIC STRIKEOUT PERFORMANCE VERSUS ATLANTA: Sanchez recorded 17 strikeouts over eight shutout innings in his outing on April 26, 2013 against the Atlanta Braves, establishing the franchise record for strikeouts in a single game. The 17 strikeouts surpassed the previous high of 16 strikeouts accomplished by Mickey Lolich in a complete game effort on May 23, 1969 against the California Angels at Tiger Stadium.
