The 46th annual Na onal Polish-American Scports Hall of Fame Induc on Banquet will take place on Thursday, June 21, 2018 at the American Polish Cultural Center in Troy, MI. RECENT RESULTS: The Tigers snapped their five-game losing streak with a 4-1 win over the Twins in the series finale on Wednesday at Target Field. Niko Goodrum had a pair of hits, including a two-run homer, his fi h of the season, while Victor Mar nez was 2x3 with a RBI. Nicholas Castellanos also added two hits in the win. Michael Fulmer started for Detroit and picked up his second win of the season, allowing one run on four hits with three walks and five strikeouts in 5.2 innings. Shane Greene pitched a scoreless ninth inning for his 11th save of the season. The Tigers begin a 12-game, 11-day homestand tonight as they open a three-game series against the Chicago White Sox. Following this weekend s series, the homestand con nues with four games vs. Los Angeles (AL) (May 28-31), three games vs. Toronto (June 1-3) and a doubleheader vs. New York (AL) (June 4). CANDELARIO REINSTATED FROM DISABLED LIST, MAHTOOK OPTIONED: Prior to tonight s game, the Tigers have reinstated INF Jeimer Candelario from the 10-day DL. Candelario appeared in two injury rehab games with Triple A Toledo, hi ng.250 (2x8) with three runs scored and a RBI. Candelario had been on the disabled list since May 14 (retroac ve to May 13) with le wrist tendini s. In a corresponding move, the Tigers have op oned OF Mikie Mahtook to Triple A Toledo. NICK THE STICK: Nicholas Castellanos had a pair of hits on Wednesday, his fourth consecu ve mul -hit game and 19th of the season, which leads the team and ranks ed for fourth in the American League. Castellanos four straight games of two-or-more hits is the second-longest streak of his career, trailing only a stretch of five straight mul -hit games from August 9-13, Castellanos has recorded at least one hit in 12 of his last 16 games with at least one at-bat, hi ng.375 (24x64) with nine runs scored, five doubles, one triple, three home runs and eight RBI during that stretch. SWEET LOU: Louis Coleman threw 1.1 scoreless innings on Wednesday, striking out two. Coleman has not allowed a run in his first five appearances with the Tigers, throwing 7.0 consecu ve scoreless innings and allowing just three hits with five strikeouts. V-MART VS. THE WHITE SOX: Victor Mar nez has had success in his career against the White Sox, pos ng a.325 (241x741) career ba ng average with 110 runs scored, 40 doubles, 31 home runs and 121 RBI. RECAPPING THE ROAD TRIP: The Tigers went 2-5 on their recently completed seven-game road trip, going 1-3 at Sea le and 1-2 at Minnesota. AT COMERICA PARK: The Tigers tonight begin their longest homestand of the season, a 12-game, 11-day homestand that includes three games vs. Chicago (AL) (May 25-27), four games vs. Los Angeles (AL) (May 28-31), three games vs. Toronto (June 1-3) and two games vs. New York (AL) (June 4).
