Victor Mar nez hit a solo home run, his fourth of the season, while Grayson Greiner drove in the other Detroit run with a sacrifice fly. Niko Goodrum and John Hicks also added a hit for the Tigers in the loss. Mike Fiers started for Detroit and took the loss, allowing four runs on six hits with one walk and two strikeouts in 5.0 innings. V-MART GOES DEEP: Victor Mar nez belted his fourth home run of the season in last night s game. The home run was his 110th in a Tigers uniform, which is the third most by a switch hi er in franchise history, trailing only Mickey Te leton (112) and Tony Clark (156). Mar nez is just the 14th player in club history to homer in his age 39-or-older season and the first since Gary Sheffield in GOODY TWO SHOES: Niko Goodrum singled in the fi h inning of last night s game to extend his hi ng streak to a career-long eight games.
