Starter Daniel Norris threw 6.1 innings, allowing three earned runs on seven hits with three walks and two strikeouts. The two teams combined for 24 hits on the day, including a season-high 13 for Detroit. Five different Tigers had two hits, including Nicholas Castellanos, who went 2-for-4 with a home run. Ian Kinsler finished with a pair of RBI singles. Detroit led 4-3 heading into the 8th inning, but Boston plated four runs off Bruce Rondón and Kyle Ryan in the frame for the come-from-behind win. The Tigers and Red Sox play the fourth and final game of their wraparound series this a ernoon. The Tigers will con nue their season-opening, seven-game homestand tomorrow vs. Minnesota (3 G, April 11-13). HE S GOING STREAKING!: On Sunday, le -hander Daniel Norris extended his impressive streak, which dates back to August 12, He allowed three earned runs-or-less in his 20th consecu ve start, passing teammate Jus n Verlander (19) for the longest ac ve streak in the majors. JUST-IN TIME: Ace Jus n Verlander takes the hill today looking for a series win a er the Tigers suffered a tough loss yesterday against the Boston Red Sox. Last year, Verlander went 9-8 with a 3.07 ERA (138.0IP/ 47ER) following a Tigers loss. In his career, he is (.628 win %) with a 3.47 ERA (1152.0IP/444ER) in 174 starts a er a Detroit loss. The Tigers are (.586) in those starts. TIGERS TRANSACTIONS: Prior to today s game, Detroit op oned RHP Bruce Rondón to Triple-A Toledo and purchased the contract of RHP Joe Jimenez from Toledo. The Tigers now have 38 players on their 40-man roster. Jimenez has not allowed a run in two appearances for the Mud Hens this season (1 SV, 2 H, 2 BB, 3 SO). In 128 career minor league games, the 22-year-old is 14-6 with 53 saves (58 SVO), a 1.57 ERA (143.1IP/25ER), 0.87 WHIP,.165 AVG against and 207 strikeouts (13.00 SO/9.0 IP). Jimenez will wear #46. FOUR OF A KIND: Detroit and Boston finish up their wraparound four-game series today at Comerica Park. Last year, the clubs split a four-game series here in August, each winning a pair of games.
