IfMickey shusband,davewebb, looksfamiliar,that sbecausehe sone ofthetwofoundersofthepopular localbandthesouthwestsurfers. However,whenthetwomet,Dave wasrunningacarpetstoreinkansas andmickeycameinwithafriend whoneedednew ooring. Imet Daveoverrolsofvinyl ooring, Mickeyremembered. AndthenDave askedmeout.ononeofour rst dateshecametopickmeupandi was nishingupchangingtheoilon mycar.thatimpresedhim.heliked theideaofawomanwholikesto work.

2 Mickey&Dave-Then&Now AndDaveeventualyputMickeytowork.AfterthetwomigratedtoArizona, DaveandafriendwhoplayeddrumsdecidedthatArizonaneededaBeachBoys tributeband.theyasembledone,andwithmickeyastheorganizerand scheduler,theyeventualygottothepointwheretheyweredoingovera hundredgigsayearasthesouthwestsurfers. They vesincedecidedtocutbackonperformances,andarenowonlydoing shows,nolongeracceptingnewjobsfordance withoneexception. Mickeysays, Italkedthem intodoingthehaloweendanceatthe Resort.Ihadtobeg,soIhopethedance oorwilbeful. (Detailsbelow.)

Doughascompletedthebigprojectthere,theonehereferstoas"thebeast" that'shisworktoinsurequalitybysplitingthewhole-parksystem attheresort intothreesmalersystems.thatmeantboringfor600feetofnewtwo-inch conduit,thenpuling650feetofcablethroughthosenewpipes. Meanwhile,Coxhasinstaledtheremaining equipmentneededtomakethesystem work.the photosbelowshowtheequipmentthatconnects theinternalcircuitstotheinternetandthelarger boxholdsthecmts(cablemodem Termination System)which,Dougexplains,"That'swhatlets themodemsintheparktalktotheoutsideweb." TheupshotisthatDoughasbeguntestingthe newinternetpriortohookingupresortresidents. So,thebeasthasbeentamed BRAVO!toDoug foralhiswork. 5 And,lastly,alowustobragabit Werecentlyreceivedadelightfulleterfrom acouplewho lsoonbejoiningusasresidents.it wasasuchnicetributethatweaskedthesendersifwemightreprintithere.thankyoutothe Wilsons welookforwardtohavingthem joinusattheresort. Thisisan toinform youofthewonderfulexperiencewehadvisitingtheresort lastthursdaymorning,sept.14th,2017.wehadarivedinthemesaareaonmonday, the11thofseptember.ourvisitwastodiscoveralocationthatwewouldenjoyliving in.wehadbeeninsouthtexasforthepasttwowinters.however,priortothat,wehad visitedthephoenixvaleyonnumerousoccasions. OurtripinMondayhadtakenustoatleastfourparks.ThenonTuesday,wehadvisited atleasttwenty- veparksonthatday.maybetwohadcaughtouratention.wednesday weproceededtolookagain,thisdaywelookedatprobablytwelve.wewentbacktoat leastfourofthepreviousparksthatwehadalreadybeentosincemonday.however,we justwerenotsatis ed.thursdaymorningafteraquicksearchonthecomputer,we cameacrostheresort.theysaytimingiseverything!idon'tknowhowwehadmised itpreviouslybut,wehad.afterbreakfast,wesetouttocontinuelookingandthinking weweregoingtohavetosetleforwhatwehadalreadyseen. WhenwepuledintothedriveofTheResort,weimmediatelylikedwhatwesaw.From therewepuledthroughthegateandproceededtotheparkingareainfrontofthe building.wewerealreadyimpresedwiththeappearance,thecleanlinesofthepark.i toldmyhusbandaswepuledinandparkedthat"thisremindedmeofoneofthespots inmexico,cabosanlucas,thatwehadvisitedononeofourcruises."heagreed.the designofthefrontbuildingwasinvitingwithitsbluesaildesignentrance.atleastthat's whatitremindedusof. Webothlookedaroundbeforegoingintotheoffice.Thepool,thedesignofthe buildingandthelayoutwasunreal.wehavevisitedalotofparksindifferentstates,but thisonejustcapturedusboth.theresortoffersamenitiesnotofferedinalotofthe parks.wefeeltheresortisanexceptionalvaluewithalitofferstheresidents. WethenenteredtheofficewherewemetLynn.Shewasverycourteous,politeand profesional.sheansweredourquestionsandsheinvitedustogolookaroundmore. Sheinformedusofalotandaskusifwewouldliketoseeit.So,outwewent.

6 Weproceededtolookaround.Welikedthelotthatshehadinformedusabout.We returnedtotheofficeandletherknowthatweweregoingtotakethelot.shethen informedusofotherthingsthatwouldbegoingonandansweredourotherquestions. Shewasveryinformativeandpolite.ThensheintroducedustoRhonda,themanager. BothwereveryprofesionalyetdowntoEarthandansweredalourquestions.Rhonda tookusovertoshowusmoreoftheparkandinform usofotherthingsgoingoninthe Resort.Shealsomadeyoufeelasifyoualreadybelongedthere.
