3 From The President s Desk Dear Members, On behalf of the managing committee I wish you & your family a Happy, Healthy & a prosperous New Year. We the family of Waltair club should have a fabulous year ahead to achieve all our ambitions and goals and lead a peace full life with good health. I now would like to update the events of last month which were the indications of the year ahead of us. We have started the month with a Beer and Biryani on the second of the month which was attended by more than 75 members. On the 15th and in the midst of a threatening cyclone and heavy gales we have conducted the Sterling Reserve Nite sponsored by Sterling Reserve with a stand up comedian Anshu Mor and a mind boggling singing performance by Vasuda Sharma the 250 members (who have according to me taken risk of drenching in the rain) immensely enjoyed the show. The very next day we have organized a magic show by B.C.Sorcar which has seen more than 500 foot falls largely comprising of children who have roped in their parents to come along with them in spite of their busy schedule. In less than a weak we have conducted the Super Bumper Tambola on the 22nd which was as usual attended by more than 300 members. We have given only one day gap and conducted Santa at Candy for the children organized by the ladies committee along with the managing committee which attracted more than 300 children along with their parents who took away fabulous prizes. The preparations for the grand welcoming of the Ney Year started and a lot of efforts were put in by the managing committee and the event manager Razzmatazz for finalizing the finer details of the décor. All the travel arrangements and the performing artists were finalized much in advance including their stay and the choice of food so the concentration was totally focused on the theme White Wonder. The performances of Shilpa, Aksha Pardasany, Hannah, Jyotsna Navandar, Maria, MC Vik, Saket and DJ Tejas was very satisfactory. Special care is taken for serving the snacks and food hot and tasty and the efforts put by us yielded Good results. Here I would like to mention that both food and snacks were provided by our club's own kitchen staff I would like to thank all of them for their dedicated effort they put in that day. Last but not the least our club Waiters, Sweepers & Malis have maintained the prestige of the club by serving on time, keeping the tables clean & maintaining the whole function area clean throughout the event which was appreciated by one and all. 4 Announcements 1. Pub will be closed on Sunday afternoons during winter season and Bar services will be available at Lawns w.e.f till further notice. 2. All Members are requested to Contribute Rs.300 towards Contribution for Christmas and Pongal gifts for our staff members. Kindly note that the above mentioned amount will be debited to your account and members are requested to co-operate. 3. Republic Day Flag hoisting on 26th January, 2019 at 9.00 A.M. followed by Breakfast. Members are requested to attend the same. 4. It has been observed that members are not parking their Vehicles in the parking slots allotted for the respective Vehicles which is causing lot of Inconvenience and hindrance to other Vehicles. Kindly note that the Managing Committee has decided that a fine of Rs.1,000/- (Rupees thousands Only) will be imposed if any Vehicle is not parked in the parking area allotted. 5. The Managing Committee has decided to conduct a Staff Day on 26th January, 2019 from 11:00 AM onwards followed by Lunch for the entire staff at Auditorium with their families. Various games, competitions etc., in various events are being conducted for the staff members, spouse and their children. 5 Christmas Eve Santa in candyland, the Christmas event organised by the ladies commitee and the managing committee on 24th December saw a spiffing number of 150 kids and a total of 300 attending the event. The children were welcomed with a sweet treat goodie bag and coupons for beverages. The decor has got out the chirstmas festivity amongst the children as well as the adults. The fashion show conducted for the children of all age groups during the event got all the enthusiasts on the stage dressed aptly to fit the celebration. After some more fun filled games the Santa makes his grand entry with a shower of candys too all the children. Gifts were distributed amongst the children by the managing and ladies commitee for the winners of fashion show as well as all the children given by their family. The show ended with a smile on all the little ones faces. Thank you for all the support from the members of the club in making this event a successful one. 6 Magical New Year Eve Event The White Wonder themed New Year Eve show at the club was a great experience of showmanship in every way. More than 1300 guests enjoyed the ambience starting with the white blossom orchard entry to the waterfall led gate arch through the Victorian carriage full of flowers and all white linen embedded with flowers and props. After many years, the club witnessed its most rocking event with well known Emcees Tollywood Celebrity Shilpa Chakrabarty and Mumbai s top anchor MC Vik in control. The Glamorous Winners of Ukraines with Venetian costumes performed as guests poured into the venue. The Dance team from Mumbai s famous Jhalak Dhilka Ja lead by Sharmishta opened with their Bolly Kathak number and the trio Dancing Divas from Ukraine stole everyone s hearts with their International Latino, Samba and Belly interludes. But the highlight of the entire event was the singing sensation JYOTSNA NAVANDAR who got the audience charged up and the dance floor packed with her non stop songs and picture perfect presentations. Singer Saketh also has his share of rocking Telugu melody and the finale and high light of the event was the entry of India s Top Dj TEJAS AND HIS VDJ profile. Tejas matched his excellent grooves with fitting visuals and thrilled us all into a brand new year. Event Manager Raazmatazz with Rahul Ganapati leading the team has excelled on all fronts and made the event a grand success.

8 December had been an action-packed month in Waltair Club with very entertaining events back-to-back. Long awaited Throw Ball Court was inaugurated on This court facilitates the club ladies to have their own court to play their favourite game. An amazing magic show with many exciting and interesting tricks were presented by famous magician BC Sorcars on A Comedy and Musical Nite was organised by Sterling Reserve on The programe started with a stand-up comedy show by Anshu Mor.Audience were in splits with his humour presented on our everyday lives and how funny our reactions are in response to them. Vasuda Sharma mesmired the audience with her musical prowess. The band blended popular western numbers with Bollywood hits and enthralled the audience. Musical nite held on Volley ball court inauguration Two weeks dance workshop conducted for ladies by choreographer Abhiram. 20 ladies participated in the classes.
