First, the weather was glorious; cool nights, but during the day, it was just heavenly. Next, we had a good crowd, lots of fun, tremendous food, and the dancing was just superb. We started out Friday night dancing 3 squares. Brice and Terry were on high energy and had the hall jumping. After a couple of tips, we surprised (sort of Sharon said after Janet asked if they were going to be at campout about 25 times she started to get suspicious) Sharon and Bill with a congratulations celebration for their recent nuptials. Terry and Jamie s daughter Leigh Ann made a beautiful 3-tier wedding cake and Debbie made some killer punch. We also gave the newlyweds Bride and Groom visors. Then birthdays, anniversaries, and the bride and groom were sung to, hugged, and feted by the whole club. The club was challenged to the BATTLE OF THE SEXES competition. Friday night and all day Saturday the men and women kept score of all games cards, board games, washer toss, Polish horseshoes, and beanbag toss. Competition was fierce. Saturday morning donuts, bagels, and coffee were available for early birds. Pot Luck was followed by a brief meeting (see article) and lots of games and good times. Saturday night we had the Cotton Squares visitors- Mike and Audrey, Karen and Robert, and Margaret and Jeff. These guys are like family and we are always happy to see them. Despite heroic effort, the women had to see the men take home the awesome trophies (no expense spared on those beauties) and get the Dum Dum suckers as the second place winners. Devotional 8:30am Sunday. After a great breakfast, Jenny Howard gave a wonderful lesson on love (Valentine s Day) and closed with a beautiful rendition of The Gift of Love. This weekend, I think we all had a great time. But, next month might just take us up another notch. See the included article on our meeting. SO, LET S GET DANCING Terry & Jamie

As you know, Tim Tyl will be calling the dance and the club is serving Sloppy Joes. In addition, there will be two dangles presented-glow Worm and Barefootin. However, through a simple misunderstanding, on the Where n When Special Dance Calendar, the Saturday night dance also shows dinner being provided and dangles being awarded. Further, we have learned that a busload of dancers is coming on Saturday night. The club decided that we would honor the information on the Special Dance Calendar. Thus, the officers and anyone who wants to help will make the sloppy joes on Friday. Also, the club will provide coleslaw both nights along with buns and condiments. Saturday night, dancers will be able to earn 2 additional dangles-sour Puss and Load the Boat. All else remains the same. Pot Luck will be at noon. Visitors will pay $8 a person each night (dinner, dance, and dangles included). So what should members plan for the weekend? Snacks-Friday shouldn t be an extra large dance just because it is a Friday. So, think about simple sides to go with Sloppy Joes and coleslaw. Desserts are always welcome as well as chips, dips, and fruit/cheese items. Saturday night we will start serving Sloppy Joes, coleslaw, and small baked potatoes (for those who don t want another sandwich). Members are asked to make double batches of snacks. But, think easy and think finger foods. (Terry and I are thinking of making mini cupcakes or a veggie tray.) Saturday night, we will need greeters to welcome bus riders and help get them all registered. Debbie will definitely need help keeping the food area stocked. Our second discussion centered around our April Anniversary Dance. For this dance, we again expect a busload of dancers, this time from Katy. For this dance the club will order a cake (the HSRDC will pay for the cake this year). For April, the cake will be the primary food served by the club, so again, snacks should be lite and be finger food. Following some discussion, the club voted to have a Chinese (brown bag) auction. If you have donations, please bring those items to the March weekend. The Brahms will supervise the auction as Jeb and Lori have a conflict in April and will not be at the campout. Charlie and Avis will act as treasurers in April. We already have several really nice items for the auction. We d really like to have a nice variety as the auctions have always been good fund raisers for the club. The next 2 months promise to be fun-filled and happening. Let the good times roll.

3 HACS Newsletter March 2016 Page 3 RV Care Guide On a recent trip to PPL, we picked up a flyer from Petty s Mobile Detailing The info on the flyer was so good, we thought we d share. RV Tips: 1. Wash your RV every 3 months, or as needed. 2. Wax your RV every 6 months.3 3. Apply Roof Coating every 2 years. 4. Use Roof Treatment every time you wash your RV. 5. Caulk your roof every 2-3 years. 6. Lubricate the slide-out boot every 2 months. Upcoming Events Get a square and go there There's lots of visitation opportunities, not just for specials. Know of a dance, we'll help you get a square and go there. Newlyweds Bill Jenkins & Sharon CHINESE & SILENT AUCTION April 9, 2016 It s time to look for items for April s auction. We would appreciate items of quality and not so much quantity. Items that are new or look pretty new. Those regifts from Christmastime are good to use in the auction. Maybe you received more bath powder, lotions and soaps than you care to use. Put them in a basket and contribute them to the auction. You can create some really eye-appealing baskets with stationery and pens or lovely cross-stitched hand towels or cooking utensils in a crock pot or even lovely African Violets in a pretty pot. I wouldn t mind bidding on a nice bottle of wine with a couple of wine glasses or how about an assorted candy basket purchased at Kroger? We have talented and creative members who can think of terrific ideas! Bring your contribution to March s campout so we will have a great Chinese and Silent Auction at the 41 st Anniversary Dance in April. 4 Page 4 HACS Newsletter March 2016 Sunshine News Mary LaJeune, she is doing as well as possible. She is improving a lot & can go shopping on her own. She is planning to go to Brices club sometime. Melba Bates, she is doing all right, & is 93 years old. She said she is doing well for her age. Loma & Nolan Wofford, Nolan had a bad time a few weekends ago. He had a bad kidney infection. At the hospital they found a large kidney stone. He was able to pass it & is on medication, he is doing a lot better now. Loma is doing fine. Loraine & Walt Autry, are doing fine. Walt has gained a lot of his weight back. They are going to the senior center several times a week. They are looking forward to coming to Camping Squares sometime. Nanette Tucker, She is making slow progress, but at least it is progress. She said she is doing relatively well. Carol Schuknecht, her daughter s mother-in-law (Tayea Bubela) passed away. Ron Alexander, fell in the bathtub at the rehab center. He cracked his hip, & had surgery. If you cannot reach Shirley by phone, leave a message. She will get back with you as soon as possible. Ron can have visitors; send Shirley an to see him. Cards are appreciated.
