1 Western Frederick at Brunswick High School 101 Cummings Dr, Brunswick MD Dear Instructors, We are very excited to be hosting again in KIDA. Enclosed is information for the show including show schedule, directions, area map, floor map and concessions menu. Our show will begin at 4:00 PM on Saturday, February 24th. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at , or at ADMISSION: Adults - $10.00 Senior Citizens - $7.00 Students - $5.00 TRUCK PARKING : Equipment trucks will unload in front of the school in our bus loop. Once unloaded, trucks will park in the gravel baseball lot. There will be signs and volunteers to help guide drivers. In order to save space for equipment, percussion units will unload their equipment 20 minutes before their assigned warm-up time. BUS PARKING : Buses will park at Brunswick Middle School (301 Cummings Drive, Brunswick MD). Buses will drop students off in the parking lot of the school, then follow the road around the school to the middle school. Please see the map attached for directions. CHECK-IN : Unit check in will be in our auditorium. Units will be dropped off in the parking lot and will enter through the stage doors labeled Unit Check In. DRESSING ROOMS: All groups will be given space in our auditorium to keep their belongings. There are restrooms directly off the auditorium that will be used as dressing rooms. No other restrooms should be used for this purpose. Please note that you are responsible for your personal belongings during the show. Please make sure shoes are worn at all times during travel. BODY/EQUIPMENT WARM-UP AREAS: The color guard units will be warming-up in our front or back lobby area and will travel to our auxiliary gym for equipment warm-up. Percussion units will warm up in the same areas. If the weather is good, both areas have doors and drumlins can warm up outside. Your host will assist you with

2 finding the appropriate area. Please be observant of your times in order to keep the show moving effectively. Also advise the members of your group that there will be no spinning of equipment in the hallways or dressing rooms. Each group is responsible for any damage to the host floor as per KIDA rules. TIMING LINE AND FLOOR LAYOUT: We are using a Vertical timing line. Units will enter through the back of our gym, facing the judges. The floors will be pulled from the Spectator s Left to Right. Units will exit from the back doors on the Spectator s Right side. TIME CHANGES : Reminder-floor times are 9 minutes for percussion groups, 7 minutes for Middle School, Bronze and Gold guard groups and 8 minutes for White and Blue guard groups as is used for Championships. SCORESHEETS: The judges meeting will take place in this room at the conclusion of each part of the show. Your score sheets will be available at that time. JUDGES MEETINGS : Judges meetings will be held in the Media Center(located in between the warm-up areas) immediately following awards. STAFF/CHAPERONE WRISTBANDS: Each unit will receive 8 chaperone wristbands and 2 Director wristbands as per KIDA rules. Your wristbands are available in your unit s information packet at check-in. Chaperone bands will be burgundy, and student bands will be gold. SEATING DURING SHOW: The visitor's side will be available for all participants to watch the show. Please make sure that your members sit in this area since the spectator side is for paying spectators only. P.A. ANNOUNCEMENTS/SOUND CHECKS: Please type all announcements and have them ready when you check-in. We request that any uncommon names be spelled phonetically to assist our announcer with pronunciations. Please bring a labeled CD for show music. Sound checks will be done after percussion awards at 5:15, and again at 7:04. AWARDS: All groups will receive a trophy or plaque at the conclusion of the show. Have your unit representatives meet in the auxiliary gym 10 minutes prior to the awards start time.
