Their spirits weren t dmpened by it being drizzly dy nd the children hd gret time. They hd chnce to visit: Henry VIII s prtments, the Royl Chpel, Tudor kitchens, tennis courts nd grounds. They even tried their hnd t Tudor portrit pinting! Lucy Duke sid, I liked going into Henry VIII s chpel becuse we lernt bout Ctherine Howrd bnging on the door pleding for her life. It ws one of the best school trips I ve been on! ES Yer 5 Ply Leder Trining Dy Ply Leders Erlier this term, Yer 5 spent the dy trining up s Ply Leders. They relised, on smll scle, wht it is like to be techer; orgnising gmes for the younger children. It ws gret wy for our Reception children to get to know the Yer 5s. Our Ply Leders scheme is relly positive wy of bringing together our older nd younger children, whilst lso offering them fun gmes to ply t brek times. Thnk you to Mrs Dvies for orgnising the inititive. JK Ted s mind is lwys rcing... We re lwys interested to her of ny prticulr tlents tht the children hve. Recently, we lernt of Ted Rive s (Yer 5) skills in the world of Go Krting. Ted strted rcing four yers go, when he ws five yers old, t Surbiton rcewy nd within 3 months he ws regulrly winning rces. He quickly progressed to fster krts nd bigger trck going on to join Dyton t Sndown Prk. He ended rcing school nd completed his Junior Modules, pssing them with flying colours. Ted now finds himself regulrly ge ing into finls, rcing boys who re 14 or 15 yers old. The next step for Ted is to find sponsors, purchse his own krt nd join the UK chmpionship circuit. It is nother huge trnsformtion s he will be rcing on bigger circuits t very high speed. Mr Rive feels tht Ted s chievements to dte very much link to the true grit nd determintion which Ted hs shown in bundnce. Ted s Mum sometimes hs to close her eyes when he is rcing nd is lwys relieved to see the checkered flg! JK

3 TADWORTH PRIMARY SPORTS EVENTS Tdworth children hve represented the school t number of events recently. Reports from two of the events follow : Yers 5 & 6 Girls Footbll Tournment t Kingswood Primry Lst week I took group of Yer 5 girls to footbll tournment t Kingswood Primry School. Although only few of the girls hd ny footbll experience, they were incredibly enthusistic nd plyed very well s tem. I ws so impressed with how quickly they got to grips with positions, pssing, defending nd working together. For ll three gmes, our girls hd possession of the bll for the mjority of the time but unfortuntely the results did not reflect the mzing effort they displyed. They ll cme wy keen to set up girls footbll tem t Tdworth nd get trining redy for next yerʹs tournment! Well done girls! Thnk you to the prents for supporting nd trnsporting s lwys. LP Legl & Generl Sports Festivl On Fridy 13 June Yer 4 were invited to ;end the locl Legl nd Generl Sports Festivl run by Sports Inspired. This ws n event which intended to inspire our Yer 4s to try new sports nd get involved in locl clubs. They hd the opportunity to ply vriety of sports in dylong extrvgnz. They hd go t sports such s si;ing down volleybll, golf, obstcle courses nd cricket - to nme few. Tdworth competed ginst three other locl schools for two trophies. One ws for the overll winner of the sporting events nd the other ws the tem spirit wrd, which ws wrded for outstnding tem prticiption, sportsmnship nd tem work. Out of 16 tems our Super Sports Strs tem won the tem spirit trophy! Olivi Hrrison, member of the winning tem, sid I enjoyed the sports, it inspired me to do more clubs nd now I m thinking of joining rugby club! A super dy ws hd by ll.
