Now run by Friends of the Hall, we serve fresh filled rolls, homemade cakes & hot drinks. Artists will occasionally be present to lead arts and crafts activity. Carers Organisations are welcome to encourage attendance. 5 Mike Bubbins Friday 3 February at 8pm Dydd Gwener 3 Chwefror am 8yh A true raconteur and a fine observational comedian regales his fans with the sublime and the surreal Wales Online Mike Bubbins, one of Wales finest comedians (Wales Online) heads out on tour for the first time with an unmissable 90 minute crowd-pleasing compilation of his best bits so far. The hilariously gifted, truly funny (Rhod Gilbert) Bubbins can regularly be heard on BBC Radio Wales and is the star of hit radio show and podcast The Unexplainers (with GLC s Eggsy). Mike s observational style combined with a natural flair for storytelling will make for a fantastic night of comedy. 6 Chickenshed Theatre In The Absence of Silence Friday 10 February at 7.30pm Dydd Gwener 10 Chwefror am 7.30yh Recommended for ages 15+ Five women meet on the beach in a seaside town for a picnic lunch. As the day progresses their friendship and shared experiences reveal devastating truths from the hidden corners of their lives but through their heartache and pain has come an unbreakable bond of strength, love and hope. This optimistic and powerful drama (co-produced with Creu Cymru and developed with South Gwynedd Domestic Abuse Services) is inspired by interviews conducted with women as part of an outreach project, Survivors. In the absence of silence is an honest and poignant portrayal of what can all too often be untold stories, and the life-affirming and positive truth of what is possible when the silence is broken. 7 Herstory by Zosia Jo Thursday 15 February time 12 noon Dydd Iau 15 Chwefror A Solo dance performance that tells a love story with a painful twist- that has nothing whatsoever to do with love Herstory is also part of the Survivors Project, which seeks to give a voice to the victims of domestic abuse across Wales. In giving a voice to this seldom - heard community the project supports wider recovery and self - development of people who have experienced domestic abuse. Bernard Shaw s classic play follows the life and trial of a young country girl who declares a bloody mission to drive the English from France. 23 Directions - How to find us The Welfare SA9 1JJ From the M4 Leave the M4 Junction 45 and join the A4067 North. Continue on this road for approx 15mins through 7 roundabouts, following signs for Danyr-Ogof Caves and Brecon. After the seventh roundabout follow the sign for Ystradgynlais and turn right. Once you reach the mini roundabout turn left and continue into town. Shortly after a zebra crossing The Welfare is situated on the left just past a bus station. You will find ample parking in front of the building. From the Heads of the Valley Road A465 Leave the A465 at Glynneath and follow the A4109 towards Abercrave. Continue as it becomes the A4221 and when you reach the T Junction, turn left onto the A4067. After passing Abercrave you will reach two consecutive mini roundabouts, keep left, entering Penrhos. At the bottom of a long hill turn right into The Welfare. From Mid Wales / Brecon Join the A40 and travel west towards Sennybridge. Turn left off the A40 onto A4067 (towards Dan-yr- Ogof). Keep on this road, through Abercrave and follow the directions from above.
