5 DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITY UNITS MEET AFRICA INITIATIVE (MAI): Activity unit dedicated to reading a myriad of African literature, and creatively expressing what one has read on the infamous global platform for grooming writers, Wattpad.com, in various creative forms (fan-fictions, anthologies, discussions on Wattpad club discussion threads, poems, etc.), thereby engaging and expanding a global community of writers and readers who are interested in what Africa has to offer to the literary scene or who still have this interest latent in them. Members of this unit are expected to join Wattpad and be actively engaged in what goes on there. SPOKEN WORD POETRY (SWP): Activity unit dedicated to grooming poets who want not only to write poetry but also to read out and demonstrate poetry to listeners. It aims to groom unique African minstrels of our day. Members of this unit are encouraged to have online outlets where their spoken poems can be appreciated or constructively criticized, preferably youtube.com PROSE AND POETRY (P&P): Activity unit dedicated to grooming fiction and non-fiction writers of prosaic, poetic and essayistic works. Members of this unit are encouraged to reach out to online and offline literary magazines and outfits out there (or in partnership with ROUTE AFRICA) to go through and publish their works. This is how to be known in the literary world of today. 4. WORDS TO LIFE (W2L): Activity unit dedicated to grooming persons with a flair for dramatizing written plays (or prosaic works). Members of this unit are encouraged to have online outlets where their independently casted or directed dramas/playlets can be appreciated or constructively criticized, preferably youtube.com 5. THE NEWSMEN (TN): Activity unit dedicated to grooming persons with a flair for journalism and news reporting. Members of this unit are encouraged to reach out to online and offline newspapers and/or magazines out there (or in partnership with ROUTE AFRICA) to go through and publish their works. 6. READERS CLUB (RC): Activity unit dedicated to grooming persons who love reading a lot of literary works and prefer reading to writing to become more effective readers whose input to the world of literature can be felt and assessed through their book (or play, or essay) reviews. Members are encouraged to have online outlets where their reviews can be appreciated or constructively criticized, preferably goodreads.com 7. BLOGGERS UNITE (BU): Activity unit dedicated to grooming persons with a flair and desire for blogging (photography as stories, or regular literary blogging). Members of this unit are encouraged to have blogs of their own and/or contribute to already existing literary blogs so that their works can be appreciated or constructively criticized. PERCHERS: Unit name gotten from the biblical symbol of the dove bringing about the announcement of who Jesus Christ is to the world, Perchers is a special proactive unit dedicated to grooming individuals who will be dedicated to achieving one of ROUTE AFRICA s core aims of announcing African movers (unique African business, artistic, literary, etc. entrepreneurs who still have start-up outfits or have not been made known to a wider audience) by regularly and frequently finding them in whatever corner of Africa they are in and conducting interviews with them for their craft to be made public. Members of this unit are encouraged to reach out to online and offline newspapers and/or magazines out there (or in partnership with ROUTE AFRICA) to go through and publish their works, and if interviews are have video coverage, members are encouraged to have online outlets where such videos can be appreciated or constructively criticized, preferably youtube.com
